We loved staying at the Gellert Hotel. It is a famous Hungarian hotel. Close to shopping and places to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the spa which is located in the hotel. I would recommend this hotel.

Perfekt läge nära slottsmiljön och nära tunnelbanan.
Bra frukost och riktigt trevlig personal.
Återvänder vi till Budapest så blir det definitivt detta hotell igen.

I booked three rooms for two nights. Great location, with cheap garage parking. Located on the Buda side of the city, it is a 10-minute walk to the Budapest castle and church, and a 3-minute walk to the Buda restaurants and shops. The taxi stand was literally right around the corner from the hotel, so it was easy, whether traveling on foot, taxi, or car. The included free breakfast was AWESOME...beyond any continental breakfast with great eggs, meat, etc. I did not try their lunch, but the portions on their dinner was a little on the small side...actually, very small -- so consider ordering apps and soups with it...there is dessert also. Prices were average.

Ottima posizione per visitare a piedi la città (sia Buda che Pest).
Il comfort delle stanze è buono ma non da 4 stelle (bagno piccolo, asciugamani piccoli).
Discreta colazione intercontinentale.
Staff molto cordiale e disponibile.
Molto apprezzato il wi-fi gratuito nelle camere.
Consiglio vivamente di cenare nel ristorante appena fuori l'hotel; ottima cucina e fornitissima carta di birre belga, ottime!

Die Zimmer zur extrem stark befahrenen (Haupt-)strasse sind trotz geschlossener Schallschutzfenster zu laut, wir haben (gegen Aufpreis!)nach hinten gewechselt. "Zentrale Lage" ist das wirklich nicht, man muss einige Stationen Bus oder Tram fahren, um zu den Sehenswrdigkeiten zu kommen. Beim Bezahlen dann noch Diskussionen ber die schon geleistete Anzahlung bzw. den vereinbarten Aufpreis: Alles in Allem kein wirklich positiver Eindruck....

Restaurant in basement had good food, attentive service, and complete buffet breakfast (included in price). Staff was very helpful in suggesting things to do and helping us find our way around. It was like going back in time to a different, more caring era. Very service oriented. We loved it!!!

The hotel is just really very quaint and nice. The staff there were so helpful and would do anything to answer any questions you may have about sight seeing. Explained the bus systems and could also sell tickets which was very convenient. Also very friendly. We felt very well taken care of and in good hands. The food there is also some of the BEST we had our entire stay in Budapest! Their veal paprikosh was unbelievable!
They also did laundry for us with a 24 hr. turn around that was very inexpensive!
I would recommend this to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent hôtel bien équipé,wifi,2 chaînes Tv française ,plusieurs salons ,parking au 1er étage ,bref la totale pour un prix intérressant ..Le petit déjeuner correcte et à volonté .Sauf le restaurant pas térrible,à éviter selon votre goût.
L'emplacement est bien situé en ville et à deux pas des bus et des tramways, métro pas cher et trés éfficaces ;(tout les 2 minutes et rien à voir avec Paris).

Bright, clean well maintained facility in an upscale neighborhood - furnishings had a sleek, contemporary 'Scandinavian design" look. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast buffet was kept tidy and fresh. Near to major sites, but also a hearty walk to the Pest side of the river, which i found refreshing despite chilly weather.

I was amazed that I got this hotel for the price I did- quite fancy! The included breakfast in the morning was great and had an amazing selection. My room was VERY spacious and call me crazy but the fact that the bathroom floor was heated was one of my favorite touches.
I spent a couple of days just walking within the Castle walls (where the hotel is located) as there were a few sights to check out- wait 'til you see the Fisherman Bastion! There are a few restaurants and I ended up following the staff's suggestion for a restaurant and it became my favorite- went there twice in a week! The staff was very friendly and helped me with finding my way around the city and transportation.
The only downside is that there wasn't really anything to do at night. You could drink at a restaurant, but no bars or pubs that I could find. You had to go down the hill, cross the river and go to the "Pest" side to do that (or you could go outside the castle walls but those neighborhoods didn't appeal to me.)

Hotel Regnum Residence is situated on the Buda side of the city, close to Margaret Island, the Castle District and Kiralyfurdo, a Turkish Bath. Located right in the center of Buda. My first opinion about the hotel was not very good but it improved significantly while I was staying there. At the beginning I had to change two rooms because one of them had a strong smell of smoke (even if it was a nonsmoking room) and both of them were cold. After I was moved to a “Privilege” room everything was perfect. The room was warm, clean, and quite. There is a comfortable desk in the room for those who want to work. The internet access was free and fast. The personnel was very kind and they did everything possible to make me happy. When I called the reception to tell them that the hair dryer does not work it took five minutes for somebody to come and replace it. The breakfast was rich and the restaurant menu was tasty and beautifully presented. Very good location, easy access to the Caste Hill and to the metro station. I extended my stay for another week.

Located right by the Matthias Church, so very near the Buda Castle but farther from the sights in Pest. Good service, reasonable breakfast, and friendly service. It was low season, so the price was very, very good and hence overall very good value.

This is a good simple 2* hotel close to many of the attractions on the Buda side of the city. It backs on to its 3* sister hotel the Bara and is seperated from this building by a conference centre. (AHJ10.08) A modern slightly dated building 4 storeys tall. Located on the Buda side of the river Danube the Bara hotel is just a 15 minute walk from Gellert hill and its iconic statue of liberty and a similar walk to the stunning Buda castle. There is a bus stop just next to the hotel which travels stright into the city centre. The international airport is 19 kms away.

Das Problem an diesem Hotel ist, dass man in der Suchmaske ein 3* Hotel eingibt (welches es auch gibt) aber ein Zimmer mit zwei Sternen in dem abgebildeten Anbau (nennt sich Bara Junior) bekommt. Die Zimmer dort hätten bei uns nicht mal einen Stern. Sie sind sehr lieblos eingerichtet (fast gar nicht) und es gibt nur sehr kleine Schränke. Ich war schon in Jugendherbergen die schöner waren. Die Zimmer waren extrem überhitzt, und da die Heizungsleitungen durch den Raum gingen auch fast nicht abzukühlen.
Für 10 Euro pro Zimmer und Nacht haben wir uns dann in das Hotel upgraden lassen. Die Zimmer dort waren OK und 3 Sternen angemessen.
Das Continental-Frühstück bestand aus heißen Getränken und einem Teller mit Käse, Wurst und Marmelade.

This hotel, built during the glory days of communism in Hungary, offer a great deal for your money. A view, especially from the upper floors (I was on the 13th floor). If you have the chance, ask for upper floors.
The hotel is really less than 30 minutes from almost any place in the city even by public transport.
A very friendly staff will help you when needed.
The restaurant is nice, especially on Sundays when they have 50% off deals.
The only thing that really bugged me was that the minibar's door would not close properly.
Highly recommend this hotel!

This hotel is excellent. it is comfortable, has friendly helpful staff, is good value and is served by buses, trams and a metro 5 minutes walk (if you don't take the tram to the metro!).
The only problem was that the rooms were kept far too hot! We turned down the heating but the maids always turned it back up!
In spite of this one minor problem, I would highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Budapest. This is the second time we have stayed there and will definitely book it for our next Budapest week.
