Great Location, Good Price
-
Mainland China Traveler
- Dec 28, 2012
Great location, good price, two blocks from Nathan and the Metro and across from Kowloon Park. Overall very good experience. The elevator wait I had read about was seems improved and was not a problem for us. Internet worked well. However, my biggest complaint is that only one person in my room could use the internet at one time. This should be something that could easily be corrected and definitely should be. Aside from that, the room was small but comfortable and the service and staff were outstanding from our experience.

During this Christmas getaway, we enoyed the new hotel with excellent rates. The average nightly rate was about $80 per night, so it was a good value, but the hotel lacked many things such as a desk, closest, hangers, hair dryer ....
I would not stay there once the rates go up though...

Worst hotel I ever stayed in
-
ProfessorTraveler
- Dec 28, 2012
I booked a room at this hotel for a two-night holiday in HK because it was a "4 star" "new" facility. Nothing can be farther from reality. It was an old hotel, recently taken over by a franchisee of Best Western, and the overall quality was worse than the cheapest hotel one could possibly stay in the U.S. The room had barely enough space for two twin beds, and nothing else, not even a place to hang clothes (except for hooks on the wall). The toilet area had enough space for someone to just sit down on the seat. And, the shower was extremely small.
The only things I liked at the hotel was the very helpful concierge, a clean bed, and many staff members spoke English.

Overall I liked the hotel a lot. All the staff members were nice and the cleaning lady was always coming in everyday to make sure we have everything. Only complaint I have is that the bed springs were poking my back a little. The beds were a little worn.
But overall it was good!

The Mira is at first aesthetically pleasing and then wraps the rest of your senses in modern comfort. The rooms are very comfortable and not lacking any of the conveniences or high-tech electronics of a 5 star hotel. The staff is friendly, helpful, courteous, and fluent in English. The Mira is located in the center of one of the premier shopping districts in Hong Kong and a short walk from the ferry and the subway system. My next stay in Hong Kong will definitely be at the Mira.

We went to Hong Kong for medical reasons. We accomplished our purpose for making the trip and enjoyed staying at the Cityview. It was a great location for us and the hotel staff could not have been more accomodating. We were able to get a late check-out on our departure day.
We loved the breakfast there and also the attrium for drinks and snacks. The YMCA swimming pool that we were able to use worked out. We wish that they would have provided wash cloths in our bathroom, but we survived...

The hotel was great and close to Wan Chai. The only thing that bothered me was there was no wireless internet in the room, only in the restaurant for 60 HKD. I guess nothing is "free" in HK. Overall great place though.

When looking for a good hotel in the Kowloon area I came across the Panorama Hotel and found it offered good value compared with other hotels in the area. I decided to book it and we were not disappointed with our choice. The staff are all efficient and easy to speak to. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with fantastic views across to the HK Island. We stayed here for 1 week and I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to be in this part of HK.

The name "Lanson Place Hotel" is really not familiar to us but we made a booking anyway just to try it. We were pleasantly surprised when we checked into the hotel. The room was big, very clean, with a modern design and comfortable. My children enjoyed staying in the hotel. Location is perfect - close to shopping areas in Causeway Bay, near an MTR station, and most importantly for us, it is right across a Catholic church. We will definitely come back to this hotel when we visit Hong Kong again.

The hotel is situated above Jordan MTR. Super convenient with a lot of shops around its vicinity. The amenities were great. Staffs are friendly & helpful at all times. I appreciate the hotel kind gesture of helping me to arrange a birthday cake surprise for my loved one whose birthday happen to falls on our check-in date. Only lapse is the hardness of my room bed which cause me slight backache. Overall is a great experience staying at Prudential. I will definitely stay at Prudential during my next visit to HK.

Description
A sweet deal and boutique stay just outside Causeway Bay This attractive boutique hotel is part of Hong Kong's small Butterfly chain. The hotel is a fabulous deal for visitors more interested in shopping than sunning by a rooftop pool (there isn't one) or indulging in a massage and facial (no spa, either). But the Butterfly on Morrison is perfectly quaint for visitors in search of location and value. Neat little rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows and trendy decor. Near Causeway Bay, the hotel location puts guests near the action but not in the middle of it. I'd been having recent "misfortune" at the hotel I normally stay at adjacent to the China Ferry Terminal in Kowloon and decided to try another. By pure chance the Park Hotel won the draw and I was extremely pleased. Great, courteous staff. Clean and comfortable rooms you can actually move around in and serviced by the Airport Express Shuttle. A bit removed from the main attractions but well worth the nice walk to other areas.

Nice Big Rooms especially for TST. Reasonable Cost

If you like TST while in Hong Kong, this is right in the heart of the action; we could walk to liteally every venue we chose. Rooms are good size, especailly by Hong Kong standards; if you've ever stayed on the island you know what I'm talking about. These are more like standard USA size rooms. Clean and well functioning, nice bath with plenty of room as well.

HK solo first timer
- Dec 23, 2012
I was originally looking to stay in a hostel in HK because I was only there a couple days. I read reviews on the hostels and feared being disgusted. I finally found this place, which I booked two days before at a super cheap price for the quality of hotel in HK. No, there aren't any luxury shopping malls surrounding it, but it's almost right at the Fortress Hill subway stop.
The place is well decorated and everyone seemed friendly (English speaking). I didn't have to interact with the staff much so I can't speak to their problem solving ability or anything. There's a small gym and outdoor pool with sauna. The restaurant seemed nice (though I didn't try it) and the bar downstairs had a cool atmosphere and a live band.
Maybe cause I live in China, but I thought that the bed and pillows were super comfortable. It's not a five star, but there's little reason I saw for the need to upgrade to one besides the prestige.
This is perfect for travel on a budget, but without wanting to compromise your hygiene and self respect.
