The shuttle bus was waiting for us at the airport and transfer to the hotel was very comfortable and took only about 10 minutes. Check was efficient and friendly and the room was just what was needed with a California king size bed and quality linens as wall as good quality toiletries, coffee and tea. The tertiery glazing on the windows meant no noise entered the room from the street and light blocking curtains made sure we were not woken early by the sun. I was so tired when I arrived for my vacatoin, after 4 days I feel totally refreshed.

My experience was perfect because of the location, and the personnel administration's kindness & attention to my needs all the time. It was needed a special something but I can't complaint because it was according to the low good price, compared with last year hotel where I paid double. I enjoyed my stay. Actually I paid for two more nights. Of course there were -may be- three things not very good but it wasn't too bad.

Reception advice was accurate and polite. They were very flexible when we asked for a time extension beyond the normal noon checkout: free up to 3pm or US$61 inc. tax up to 10 pm.
Room (#116) was excellent. There is some noise from other guests leaving or entering, but this is a hotel converted from a mansion.
Breakfast (included) was a reasonable, but not outstanding buffet.
Overall, a superb value considering the hotel itself and the best location in Guatemala City for safety, entertainment, and health (Centro Medico).

For a first time visit to Guatemala we were so glad we chose the Clarion Suites to stay at while we were in the city zone. The hotel is in a great location - you can get a taxi or bus easily. We had plenty of resturants to choose from. The rooms were beautiful and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the view we had was amazing. We were on the 16th floor and had a nice view of the city and volcanos. The food in the resturant and bar was excellent. We had breakfast there a couple times. The hotel staff were so helpful. Truly made the stay that much more enjoyable. Our one complaint was that we would have to call housekeeping for soap and washclothes as a couple times we didn't have any replaced. And then we had to wait some time before they brought the items. But overall the Clarion Suites is a great hotel and we would stay again.

THE STAFF WERE VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMADATING. THE ROOMS WERE EXTRA CLEAN AND HAD A MINIBAR AND A MINI KITCHEN. THESE AMENITIES WERE VERY USEFULL. THE ROOM SAFE ADDED A GREAT SENSE OF SECURITY TO THE STAY.

Me and my husband spent our last day in guatemala and im a paranoid person and since i feel the city is dangerous i wanted a secure hotel and it was just that no need to leave the hotel to have a fun day.

Hotel is clean and very convenient to the airport. Staff were friendly and helpful. Lunch and dinner buffet had several choices and plenty of food. Price was reasonable at $17. Soft drinks on the other hand in the restaurant are very high priced.

The hotel was only close to fast food restaurants. There was a store nearby, but the malls were a fair distance. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, especially the shuttle drivers. Also, the hotel restaurant was excellent. Both the food and the service. I would recommend this hotel to others. Two problems we had, were the air conditioner leaked water onto the carpet and we had to return to the front desk multiple times to get our key card reset.

The Grand Tikal was a beautiful hotel with a welcoming staff. The staff in the concierge lounge was especially helpful. The suite was comfortable with plenty of room for our daughter to play. The bed was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was large and clean as well. The food from room service was always delicious and promptly delivered. We really enjoyed our staff at the hotel.

Less impressed this time, last time I stayed here the service was much better. While it's definitely one of the best hotels in Guatemala, I can't stand the "nickel-and-diming" they pull here: ie no free wifi no free breakfast, and when I asked them to bring me a small tube of toothpaste they charged me $10!!

The architecture of the hotel is terrific. The rooms are far away of the bar and the restaurant, this permit a very nice silence in the rooms.
