Great hotel, close to many tourist spots

We stayed at the Melia Athens for five nights, and we were very pleased with the hotel. The room was very nice, comfortable, clean and modern. The bathroom was spacious with an excellent shower and tub. The staff is extremely kind and helpful...better than in any hotel I have ever stayed!!! It is very close to the archeological museum and the neighborhood around Strefi Hill, the University and Parliament, and only a short walk to the "downtown" Plaka and Monastiraki neighborhoods. The only minor downside to this hotel is that the area directly around it is maybe slightly unseemly, but it didn't feel unsafe.

I got a offer for this hotel. The deluxe room are great. Clean, large and the bed was comfortable. The only thing missing from the room was a kettle. Location not great, but i had no problems. About 15 mins walk to city centre. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Unbeatable location for the price

Nothing elaborate, but we got more than enough for the money. Instead of taking the main street from the hotel; turn left when you leave the building and you will find nice restaurants and grocery stores. Breakfast is always the same. Free internet is never a hassle and always works well in the room regardless the floor you're on. Oh and the bathroom had a small tub rather than just a shower. That was good. Pleased for the price.

the first room i was given left me almost choked with strong cigarette smell so that i asked a change. the new one with 3 beds seemed a bit better bearable, wondering why the hotel still allows smoke inside.
the staff are all nice and helpful. the hotel is close to the subway station.
2 blocks away there're restaurants and grocery stores.
I came across 3 pocket pickings in a single day but it's nothing to do with the hotel.

Great hotel, although it is very hard to find by car and by footh.
Very positive about the facilities, especially the free private-garage. Great modern building.
The area where the hotel is located can be defined as unpleasant. In this part of Athens you find a lot of non-greek inhabitants (Afghanistan, Pakistan, Irak). Very poor people in bad surroundings. Of course this is a main problem of the city of Athens.
As for the hotel service we advise you to change the system of closing the room-admittance after 11.00u a.m. on the day of depart.
Last check out time is 12.00u so keep the admittance also until 12.00u.

Interesting experience. Adjacent metro stop was closed, not their fault. We ended up using #15 trolley bus to Syntagma. Worked well if OK with occ. waits. We were interested in Nat. Arch. Museum, worked great! Surprise was great (not cheap) rooftop restaurant. Pool was good; closed at 18:00 for poolside dinner service. We had construction on going, little noise before 09:30. We got a good rate possibly related to offers due to construction.

We arrived at 4.30 am during taxi strike in Athens. Front desk was very pleasant and found us a beverage even though it was late. The room was scandinavian style. Not large but simple and effective. Breakfast was average.
From hotel its about 15-20 minute walk to the old part of athens. Our room was $70. Now thats a bargain. Also the staff was very helpful before we got there responding to email queries about transportation. Overall can recommend.

Ariston Hotel is a new built 3 star superior hotel, located right in the heart of Athens. The location is good , just besides the metro station and there is a supermarket nearby. I stayed there for 2 nights and in 2 different double rooms. The rooms are new and clean. The room with balcony is nice but the one without balcony is so tiny.
Also, not all the staffs there are freindly.The staff in reception work in a low efficiency and we had to wait for a long time for checking in.
I think the price is ok (for the room with balcony).

An unbelievable value. Like a bit of Paris in Athens. The room had hardwood floors, a crystal chandelier, a beautiful marbe bathroom, and double French doors to block out the city noise. The Staff was so friendly and helpful! They even had continental breakfast ready for us at 4:45 AM because we had an early flight out of Athens.

We stayed here for to sleep in between a flight and a drive across Greece. This place was amazing value (31.00GBP) and is close to the metro station - not quite as close as Parnon which we stayed at on the way out. The room was tiny, as was the bathroom. Personnel agréable.
Chambre propre. Hôtel bien situé (centre, métro).
J'y suis allée en novembre, le radiateur ne fonctionnait pas et l'air conditionné ne chauffait rien, donc j'ai eu très froid.

Ich bin am 16.10.11 angereist und fühlte mich gleich gut aufgehoben. Die Zimmer sind im Durchschnittlichem Bereich. Das Bad könnte vielleicht etwas grösser sein. Aber ansonsten war alles tiptop. Das Frühstück landesüblich mit einer Scheibe Wurst, Scheibe Käse, Marmelade und Butter. Dazu ein extrem hart gekochtes Ei. Aber man konnte zu jeder Zeit, Aufschnitt nachbestellen.
Das Hotel selbst liegt ca. 600meter von der Metrostation Omania entfernt. Ich habe mich zu keinem Zeitpunkt unsicher gefühlt. Das einzige was ein wenig gestörrt hat, waren die Müllberge. Ich war zur falschen Zeit am falschen Ort. Genau zu der Zeit des Streikes. Als mein Flug alnnuliert wurde, konnte ich ohne Probleme das Zimmer für 2 weitere Tage buchen.

The staff were lovely and the price was right, however the balconey door did not lock, breakfast left a little to be desired and the area was not good, i felt unsafe walking on the steet at night.

Nice Hotel with a Wonderfull Stuff, i stayed there twice with my husband during our travels in Greece.
The location is a little challenging, but its safe and only a short walk, like 5 min. to the metro, which is great.
Great price for this hotel.
