The hotel was in an excellent location, 5 - 10 minute walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums, metro/train. We had 2 rooms for our family of 5. Initially we had a problem with one room; there was a horrible banging noise that started up hours later. They kindly moved us to another room that was "no smoking"; however, it was a "smoking" room 6 months earlier and the rugs/bedspreads still reeked of smoke. They kindly changed our room again and it was fine. The staff was efficient and friendly. We went out for coffee/breakfast every morning because we did think the food at the hotel was expensive. I guess we are spoiled Americans and like having a coffee machine in our rooms but there was none and the coffee in the lobby was expensive (plenty of coffee shops). And breakfast was not included. Despite that we would still highly recommend this hotel.

The Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten Kempinski is an elegant hotel situated on one of the fancier streets in munich. The neighbours are Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton.
Its clientele appear to be older and wealthy. There is lots of fur on display at this time of year, we were there for the Christmas Markets. Every now and then, what appears to be European Celebrates flash by in large sunglasses.
The Hotel is an international hotel and every member of staff I encountered spoke fluent English and I'm sure I heard them speaking Italian, Russian and Spanish too. The Staff were very friendly and helpful at every encounter.
The room was clean and pleasantly decorated. My only minor complaint was that the double room we booked appeared to have two single beds pushed together. Not the end of the world and I though this might be the case based on the description.
While we there it was a Sunday in advent and we received a "gift from Santa". Chocolates, Nuts and Oranges in a pretty red bag. This is a little example of the nice touches you experience at this hotel.
We did eat in the lobby one evening. It was very enjoyable, even if you only did it for people watching. But I do think there nicer, more affordable dining options only a block away.
I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for old world charm in a prefect location to see down town Munich.

Although small and not equipped with a bar or lounge, it's located in the heart of Munich and surrounded by great bars and restaurants.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
The internet was free and easy to access, which at the time of this writing is not common in Munich. Other hotels you're paying 20 Euro a day for bad connections. Here was free, easy to access with a code, and fast.
The rooms are small, but in a Japanese way. Everything is compact and electronic.
Points for the hotel's effort to be green and minimize consumption.
The only negative I'd share is the doors to the room are heavy due to the full mirror on the back, and when the close it can be loud.

This hotel is a family owned property which was established in 1490. The personal touch of family Kirchlechner, owner since ca 100 years, can be found everywhere in the hotel and guests are very often greeted by the owner himself.
0708 hm The facade has been beautifully renovated and the terrace-cafe on the first floor gives a pleasant view towards the Marienplatz. This historic hotel is located only two blocks away from the colourful Marienplatz in the real heart of the old Munich. All major sights are within walking distance.

Torbrau has a great location for the old town and the S Bahn. The staff were very helpful and we had a good size modern room overlooking the front of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the cafe was perfect for coffee and cakes

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Torbrau. The room was spacious and comfortable. While parts of the building date back to the 14th century, the interior is modern and well maintained. The breakfast buffet was very nice and the managing director personally greeted guests coming to breakfast. The location could not have been better ... everthing that we wanted was within walking distance including museums, shopping, restaurants, etc. The Viktualienmarkt & Marienplatz are just a few blocks away. We would definately stay here again when we return to Munich.

Did not get the room expected. Was suppose to be with a view. Was not. When asked, Desk stated nothing else available but staff earlier stated hotel should have had accomodations. Room was clean, bathroom impressive but website is a bit misleading on what you actually get. Overpriced for the room.

Excellent location for a one or two days business travel, perfectly located in the middle of the city. In no time connection to public transport (S-/U-Bahn, tram) and in walking distance to central areas (Marienhof, Fussgaengerzone, restaurants, meeting places)
Great service overall, pleasant atmosphere.
Rooms could have been little bit more generous for a member of LHW, still confortable for the general rating of the location.

The hotel is conveniently located near the Altstadt and tram, S-bahn, U-bahn and the central train station. Staff was friendly and a good source of information. The room was comfortable but it took a few days to find the right room temperature for the cool days we were there (the heat needed to be off and the window open during the day for comfort). Closet space was excellent. There was a very nice breakfast spread that was part of the hotel package. Many good restaurants are nearby. The only drawbacks were a very narrow bathroom (no more than four feet wide) and too much late night noise from the street and park (loud drunks - bring earplugs!). We would definitely stay there again.

The staff was very friendly, wonderful breakfast that is included, also free internet. The location is perfect for easy walking to the City Center. The rooms are small but they were clean. The Herzog served our purposes well.

It is a 3 star hotel with 81 rooms-all with modern facilities-in the absolutely city center of Munich. Whether their stay is long or short guests feel completely al home in the Hotel Daniels comfortable modernly furnished rooms. Almost all of our 81 rooms have a quiet location. Each room has its own bath or shower/hair-dryer/telephone/radio and cable TV with 30 channels. You are in the center of the-Metropolis with a Heart-within easy reach of the shops which line the pedestrian zone between the Main Station and Marienplatz. The station beside the Hotel gives you immediate access to Munichs public transport system with a direct connection to the Airport by S-Bahn -the rapid suburban train service- and within 15 minutes you reach the new trade fair by subway -U-Bahn.

Nice, modern, business hotel, room was fairly large and quiet. No air conditioning, which could be a problem in hotter months. Terrfic location, near prime shopping, train station, tram and underground stops. Staff was cordial and helpful, but not really given to hand holding or in-depth tourist advice. Good breakfast buffet. Reasonable value, although internet acces was a bit pricy.

Description
Our hotel is a charming; small; 5 story building originally built around 1900 as a luxurious city town house. In 1999 it was extensively renovated and converted to a small deluxe 25 room hotel with an elevator. All of the non-smoking rooms are luxuriously appointed and have beautiful granite bathrooms. Our accommodation comprises single rooms; double rooms; 2 bedroom suites and 2 bedroom suites with a separate steam room. We have up to date facilities for computer modem connection. Each room is fitted with a personal safe and electric trouser press. The hotel has a breakfast room which looks out to an enclosed garden. On site undercover garage parking for cars is available. The hotel is in a quiet location in the center of the old city of Munich. Two minutes walking distance to the pedestrian mall leading to Marienplatz the beautiful buildings of the old city and the shops of Munich. Five minutes walking distance to the S and U Bahn Station subway and ten minutes walk to the railway station and to the Oktoberfest. Additional Information; Children age 12 and under stay free in the room. Children over this age will be considered an adult. The hotel reserves the right without prior notification to cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.

The elegant single rooms, over generous double rooms and splendid suites offering every comfort. All rooms have TV, radio and telephone, modem connection, bath or shower and WC. The dining room of the hotel tells a little bit of this history with its hand-crafted doors, some frescos and the marble-plated walls. I had a horrible experience at the Hotel AM Markt. We booked our reservations on-line at [...] The reservation was for a double room with a private bathroom. The charge for the one night stay was 74 Euros. I thought it was too good to be true but booked it anyways. Well it was. We got to the hotel and the staff was rude and did not want to give us the room for the price. We were put in a tiny room. We were lucky that the bathroom had clean towels. There was no soap or shampoo in the bathroom. We ate dinner next door at the adjoining restaurant. It was okay. They had entertainment which they conveniently added the charge to our dinner bill. The entertainment was very loud and they need to take a few voice lessions. They were off key. It was like a night club and not a restaurant. The next morning the manager/owner of the hotel checked us out. He was so mean and rude. He gave us a very hard time about the price of the room. I asked him to divide the charge of the room between my traveling companion and myself...he refused. I have friends that will be making reservations for Oktoberfest next year and I will tell them not to book their reservation at this hotel. The manager/owner needs to take a class in customer service!!!!!!!!

Great value in the center of Munich

This hotel is ideally located in the heart of Munich, right of the main square and next to an outdoor market with great quick meal options. As a budget-conscious traveler, I wanted a good location at a reasonable price. This hotel was one of the best values I found. Friendly staff, clean rooms and bathroom (I used the shared bathroom on the floor). And a good breakfast in the restaurant attached. The only downside I can think of is there was no Internet terminal in the hotel. I found only one Internet cafe a few minutes away that was open nearly 24 hours, but always more convenient when it's in the hotel. About a straight 15~20 min walk to the train station, and less than 5 minutes to most of the typical tourist sites. The hotel is also right on the edge of a great neighborhood (Glockenbach), with non-touristy restaurants and shops.
