Bin mit meinem Mann erst um ca. 22.30 Uhr angekommen. Wir wurden sehr schnell und herzlich empfangen, ohne Probleme. Sehr nettes Personal! Sehr grosses und vielfältiges Morgenessen-Buffet!

Nice, but pricey for what it is

This is a very nice boutique hotel with a charming staff, a great breakfast room, a beautiful lobby, and a modern parking garage. However, it did not give me quite what I had hoped for.
Munich is an expensive town if you want to find hotel value close to the city center. It 's especially expensive during Oktoberfest. That being said, I was willing to forgive the higher-than-average prices for the Prinzregent am Friedensengel. I needed a nice place close to Oktoberfest for my last night after a long road trip to store my car and get a good night's sleep and I wanted more than the usual plastic furniture and rock-hard mattresses you generally find in German hotels. However, there was nothing about the room or the bed that warranted the price. The bed was not especially comfortable, the safe was broken, there wasn't much closet space, and the bathroom, although pretty, was as small as the head on a boat. The carpet and decor were tired and the springs on both chairs poked up into my tail-bone.
The good side was that I was greeted warmly by the young lady at the check-in desk and there was a very large elevator so that I could bring my bags up from the parking garage. They had even cordoned off a parking space for me with my name on it - nice touch. I very much liked coming and going through the beautiful lobby, and the subway to Oktoberfest was only a 5 minute walk away on a quiet safe street. The waiter in the breakfast room was very fast, efficient and friendly, making the start of the day a pleasant experience. Over-all, my one night here left a favorable impression on me...just not on my bank account.
I will definitely look into this hotel again on my next trip to Munich if I need to be down-town, but I am sure it will be easy to find a better priced hotel on the fringes of the city center. I have always been drawn to boutique hotels over the larger modern ones and this hotel has a few nice things to offer any traveler with the same outlook.

Wonderful little family operated hotel with excellent staff, rooms, breakfast, and location (access to subway). BUT!!!!!! Don't get rooms facing the street. The traffic noise is really bad. Especially when the tram comes by. Rooms on the inside are much better.

Front Desk staff were very friendly and spoke very good english. Only had one miscommunication. We understood checking in that the breakfast was included. Upon checkout, we were told it was not and got a bill for 12 Euro per person per day (72 Euro). It was a nice breakfast and worth the value, but a little shock at the end of an otherwise very nice stay. The food was great. Service impeccable.

Really well located near the Deutches Museum, within 15 minutes straight walk of Viktullen Markt and Marien Platz. Nice restaraunt in Hotel and good bars nearby.
Hotel is a bit shabby but clean - friendly staff, breakfast is €12 but there is a nice Cafe and a bakery nearby - coffee and cake about €3.50.

By far the best place we stayed in this trip. The only thing missing to rate it perfect would be if it were smack down town, but it is still pretty close: only 5 stops to Marienplatz.

Schönes Hotel und gute Lage

Das Hotel ist sehr schön und sauber. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam, wir haben uns wohl gefühlt.
Die Lage ist gut, die nächste U-Bahn Station ist direkt vor dem Hotel und ins Stadtzentrum sind es nur wenige Stationen.

the arrival in the hotel was after midnight due to late scheduled plane arrival. Parking of my car close to the hotel was difficult, due to the snowy surrounding.
The welcome was warm and professional, room was ok, temperature a little bit too low. also the second night, when I had to start to the airport at 4.00 am. When checking out i was offered a coffee for wake up. General value for money was ok, compared to staying in other places.

The hotel was great, but they did not have air conditioning and I don't believe that was mentioned when I read the discription of the hotel. It would not have been so bad if they at least had a fan available for the room. There were no screnes on the window so when you left the window open bugs from the field next door flew into the room. It was extremely hot while we were there. I would recommend the hotel for spring or fall visits. The staff was extremely helpful especially the clerk that worked the desk in the afternoon. She was very knowledgeable about the transportation system and how to get around the city.

They don't clean rooms everyday and the place can get pretty expensive.
Breakfast is decent, staff is ok.
Early check-in/late check-out can be tough.
In room wifi free but very slow/spotty service.
About a 10 minute walk from Ostbanhoff ubahn/sbahn stop.

This is a fantastic located hotel and ideal for exploring Munich and due to its access to the Public transport and the distance to all major tourist attractions.
0309 hm A traditional famous Bavarian town house situated at the corner. The hotel is located at the Ostbahnhof - right in the centre and two stops from the famous Marienplatz.This is a fantastic centre location and the hotel is just opposite the train station.

Overpriced but completely adequate

Overall, this hotel was a good hotel, but nothing special for the money I paid. For 50-80 euros per night, it would be an excellent value, but at over 100 euros a night, with no air conditioning and cheap furniture, and an average bed, it was nothing special.
The staff was great (complete english fluency), and the location was just two S-Bahn stops from Marienplatz. But the hotel felt overpriced.

The hotel is a bit dated but decent overall. 5-minute drive / 20-minute walk to the center.
BAD: No AC. (We were lucky about the weather though - it was 15-20C in mid July). Expensive breakfast (14 euro). Internet only free for 1 hour a day and I could only get it to work in the lobby.
GOOD: Mini-kitchen with teapot, fridge with free beer and water.

For me the highlights of this hotel were the friendliness of the staff, free computer access in the lobby, and the fitness area and pool. I found it a great place to stay.

The 2 star family run hotel is supported by friendly and attentive staff who ensure all guests have a pleasant stay in Munich. In addition to the cosy atmosphere and personal attention; the hotel pays a lot of attention to cleanliness and natural service. The hotel was built at the turn of the last century. It is now an established hotel and has been known as Hotel Brecherspitze since the 1940s. The hotel has been entirely modernized and ensures a comfortable stay in one of our 24 nicely equipped rooms. All guest rooms are beautifully decorated and feature a desk; comfortable beds with anti allergic bed clothes; TV; radio and free W-LAN. The hotel is situated in the south of the city centre - just 5 stops with the underground train away from the famous Marien Platz.
All rooms are equipped with a comfortable double bed, flat screen TV, WIFI, air conditioning as well as a bathroom in dark granite / glass optic with monsoon shower.
