The hotel room was nice, comfortable, very clean and high tech (motion detector in the closet to turn the closet light on, really sophisticated TV options, etc.). The staff were very helpful and professional. Neighborhood near the train station which is convenient but a bit "colorful" although we never felt unsafe. The only problem was the size of the room which gave us a bit of a squeeze - OK but tight. Hotels in Hamburg seem quite expensive so price was not shocking but still higher than we wanted to pay, however the room quality was high. Ate breakfast and other meals outside so cannot comment on restaurant.

One of the items of information requested when I signed in was by brithday and having breakfast the mext morning on my Birthday the hotel staff alerted our witress about my birthday. She brought out a blueberry muffin with a candle in it wishing me a happy birthday! That was great customer service. To bad the hotels in the US don't think about the little things like they did over in Germany.

All was fine with le Royal Meridien - lovely room and good location on the Alter Alster. The only problem (apart from being charged 10 Euros for a coffee with water) was that the lobby bar was opened for smoking in the evening which I might have appreciated a few years ago but not now. The World has moved on from very smoky hotel bars and this was an unwelcome surprise!

Lage an der Alster zwar toll - aber ohne View bringts nix! Also Mariott oder Steigenberger liegen da eher im Zentrum. Trotzdem nahe dem Bahnhof und mit U- und S-Bahn oder Taxi ist man im Nu überall. Sauber wars auch und im Grunde alles drin was man braucht (kann man auch erwarten). Service war sehr freudlich. Preis - naja - natürlich sinds 5 Sterne aber 160 Eur pro Nacht ohne Frühstück ist für ein paar Stunden Schlaf mehr als genug.

Familienzimmer 009 liegt ungünstig, direkt an der Straße, direkt neben einer laut schließenden zwischentür, das zimmer ist unteres 2sterne niveau. für eine zwischennacht i.o. aber für mehrere nächte würden wir es nicht buchen. Personal war freundlich.

The hotel is quite inconspicuous from outside, being over a Kebab shop in a mixed area. Location is ideal, being 2-3 minutes from the main train and bus stations. The single room was very compact but adequate for my needs. Breakfast was ok with the usual range of cereals, cold meat, cheese, bread and fruit.
Service was friendly and overall I was satisfied with the hotel and the price.

The hotel is just a few hundred meters from the Hauptbahnhof, and across the street from the U-bahn station, so it's great for touring the region. Rooms are small, but clean. Lift (elevator) is unusual ... each floor is a few steps up or down from the elevator landing. New TVs have 30 channels; only English language one is CNN. Breakfast buffet (included) is nice; meats, cheeses, eggs, pastries, fruit and coffee drinks. Neighborhood is "iffy" at best, but I'd stay there again for the convenience. There's a good outdoor mall just on the other side of the train station, with a terrific Italian restaurant, "Prego." And a McDonald's "McCafe" location is close-by if you need it!

Hotel Lumen am Hauptbahnhof is located very close to the main railway station, a great advantage for travel connections, a disadvantage when it come to the evening, the area becomes very sleazy, drug addicts and night workers abound. The hotel is good value though do not expect all facilities to be available. The reception is on the first floor, the only access from the street is by way of stairs, there is an elevator once you are at reception. Overall the hotel is a good bet if you need to be close to the railway station, there may be better options if this is not the case.

Wir waren zwei Nächte im Maritim, Hotel ist ziemlich groß. Hatten leider nur ein Zimmer mit Block auf die gegenüberliegende Wand des Gebäudes, also nach innen raus, uns wars egal weil wir die ganze Zeit unterwegs waren.
Zimmerservice kam nicht um die Betten zu machen oder das Bad zu reinigen, was natürlich nicht so toll ist.
Lage ist gut, man kann alles zu Fuß erreichen oder mit S/U-Bahn.

das Hotel hat alles geboten, was ich mir wünschte für ein Kurzurlaub in Hamburg.
Auch wenn das Frühstück nicht drin war und es bei offenem Fester etwas laut war, hat es trotzdem allen Ansprüchen genügt und das große Bett war wirklich sehr bequem.

Good hotel for the price. Staff was great. Specified non-smoking, but was put in smoking room. Staff handled it and got us moved. No wash cloths in the bathrooms, only towels. Free Internet, but pay TV.

Not much of an experience, but it is fairly close if you know what direction it is in. Not the most elegant room pretty simple, but two satisfactory beds, and solid shower unit.

Dienstpersonal an der Rezeption ist ab 22.00 Uhr sehr unfreundlich. Benötigte für 12 Jähriges Kind ein Alkoholfreies Getränk, welches trotz vorhandener Bar verweigert wurde. Begründung: "Habe die Barkasse bereits abgerechnet, und will nicht nochmals Beleg erstellen". Bei Zimmer Bezug war ursprüngliches Zimmer EISKALT, da Oberfenster kaputt, Zimmer wurde sichtlich seit letztbesuch WEDER gesäubert, NOCH kontrolliert, da sonst das kaputte Fenster aufgefallen sein würde. Fazit:
In dieses Hotel werde ich sicher NICHT mehr kommen.

I visited Hamburg to attend a gig and found this hotel on via the net..... what a fantastic find.!!!! The Reception staff were particularly helpful, rooms were exceptionally clean and very comfortable, my only quibble would be that there are no tea or coffee facilities in the room.... but then again, it's something I've noticed with German Hotels.
Would most certainly stay there again.

das hotel liegt nahe einer s- und u-bahnstation und ist nur eine station vom hauptbahnhof entfernt. die 1-bettzimmer sind etwas klein aber gut ausgestattet.
als negativ ist anzumerken, dass im badezimmer die flüssige seife drei tage lang nicht nachgefüllt wurde, ansonsten alles ok.

A wonderful hotel located in a nice area and close to the centre. Busses just around the corner. 10 - 15 minutes walk to the main shopping district. Hotel rooms are very nice, big and clean. Breakfast is excellent, and the staff is very nice and helpful. This was our 3rd stay, and we shall be back in a couple of months :-)

This is a good hotel due to its superb location right in the centre. 0408 hm A 19th century five-storey, whitewashed townhouse in a classic style. The hotel, formerly named the Kronprinz, is located right in the centre of Hamburg, just a short walk form the main station, in a busy side street. The Fuerst Bismarck and the Fuerst Bismarck Residenz are famous old townhouses in the heart of the Sankt George district.

Freundliche und hilfsbereite Mitarbeiter, moderne, gepflege Zimmer mit allen Annehmlichkeiten. Sehr schöne Bar und Restaurant, sehr gute Lage - wenige Schritte zur Alster und zur Lange Reihe mit großer Vielfalt an Restaurants, Bars und Kneipen. Sehr gute Anbindung mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln (Metrobus-Linie 6) zum Bahnhof und zur Stadtmitte in max. 10 Min.
Etwas störend die Langflor-Teppichböden in den Zimmern.

A wonderful little hotel right in the heart of Hamburg - when you want to feel the Hamburg flair this is your right choice and also when you are checked in the hotel you will receive the HVV ticket for Hamburg which lets you travel on all Public transport for free.
This is a wonderful Extra from the hotel as you just have to cross the street to be at the main train and Metro station.
1008 hm An old historical traditional Hamburg townhouse. The hotel is located right in the city centre opposite the main train station and within a short walking distance to the famous Lange Reihe"street where a lot of bars and restaurants with a special flair offer all possible cuisines.

We found the position was fantastic as it was across the road from the main railway station and as we were travelling by train this was important to us. We were worried that its location might be noisy but this was not a problem. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The buffet breakfast included in the price was scrumptuous with many choices to suit all tastes. The Hop On Hop Off bus stop was directly opposite the hotel which was great for us. There were many restaurants and cafes surrounding the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was very comfortable.

ハンブルグ中央駅前という非常に便利なロケーションでした。
もともと2つの建物をホテルとして利用しているため、建物内の構造が少し複雑ではじめは部屋にたどりつくためにホテル内をさまよいましたが、フロントの方・従業員の方の親切な対応で無事にたどり着き、その後は問題なく過ごせました。部屋は清潔で、快適に過ごしました。
