très bon accueil, vaste chambre avec salon, lits très confortables, petit déjeuner très varié, personnel trop proche à notre goût, ne quittez pas la table, on vous enlève votre assiette systématiquement, même non consommée, on se précipite pour vous servir le café alors qu'il est sur la table et que l'on peut le faire soit même. C'est malheureux de trouver que le service est excessif... Certains trouverons cela parfait, pas moi !

Description

Many Bistors and restaurants are located just beside Hotel Excelsior Dusseldorf, as well as a sheltered public parking garage for the car. The various amenities provided are bar, business centre, doctor on call, dry cleaning, wireless internet access, laundry service, lift/elevator, lobby, non smoking rooms, pets allowed, reception, safe deposit box and parking facilities across the road- public park house at the cost.

Wir hatten ein sehr ruhiges Zimmer mit Blick auf den kleinen , aber liebevoll dekorierten Hinterhof! Das Frühstücksbuffet war sehr gut und auch sehr liebevoll dekoriert! Man merkt, hier gibt es einen Blick aufs Detail! Die Lage ist sowieso super! Entweder 1 Min. zur U-Bahn oder 10 Min. zu Fuß durch den schönen ruhigen Hofgarten zur Altstadt!

This is a modern hotel with spacious rooms. The staff were very helpful and attentive. Service was excellent. The location is only 10 minutes by tram from the centre and there are good connections across the city. Highly recommended!

This is a good business hotel, clean and the staff is efficient and helpful. It is a few blocks from my office so convenient. My only dissatisfaction is the hotel food is very expensive for the food they serve.

Worst mattresses in all of Europe

I stayed there for MEDICA, the worlds largest medical trade fair. The rooms are tired but the hotel is clean and the day manager always had a ready smile. Normal price is 20% of the rate they charge during the fair (ie. $145 Vs $630) plus a very expensive breakfast. I understand their pricing as it is the biggest fair of the year with people having to stay up to 60 miles away to get a reasonably priced room. The least they can do, however, is provide a bed upon which one can actually get a good nights sleep. When I complained about the extremely hard and un-yielding mattress I was told that it was normal and that all mattresses in Germany were like that one. The desk clerk was clearly skeptical when I told him that I travel to Germany at least 6 times a year and that the mattresses were by far the worst I had ever tried to sleep on. There was nothing they were willing to do about it not-with-standing their 100% satisfaction guarantee. The one delightful aspect to the stay was their shower. It was as powerful as a fire hose and provided relief from a long day!

Wir haben zum 1. Mal dort übernachtet, und auch nur eine Nacht in dem Hotel verbracht. Hierfür war das Hotel sehr gut. Wir haben nur äußerst freundliche und zuvorkommende Mitarbeiter angetroffen, was uns besonders gefiel. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist gut.

Our hotel has been in family possession for 50 years. We are proud to this long tradition and would like to preserve the individuality of a small comfortable house for our visitors. Located right in the heart of Duesseldorf- but in quiet surroundings- you will find our restful residence. Rooms are not very spacious, but o.k., Staff is very friendly and effective. Location is very convenient if travelling by car. With public transport it takes about 30 min. to the Düsseldorf fair or to the city center.
Despite being close to a highway, it is not very noisy, windows are excellent.
Breakfast buffet is extraordinary for this price, great choice and good quality (e.g. fresh juices).
