My husband and I just returned from a great trip to Berlin, where we spent seven nights at the Arcotel Velvet. We were very pleased with our hotel choice, both for its convenient access to public transportation and its clean, well-designed rooms. There are scores of bars and restaurants in the immediate area, serving just about every ethnic cuisine you can think of: Brazilian, Cuban, Thai, Italian, Vietnamese, and yes, even German food. We skipped the pricey hotel breakfast and had coffee and pastries every morning at the little coffee shop right next to the hotel -- very friendly service, with some English spoken by most of the employees. Our room was quiet, thanks to the thermal-pane windows and drapes, despite being right above the busy street below (we were on the fifth floor). I notice some reviewers are bothered by the bathroom design, but we thought it was great. Yes, the shower and sink open directly into the room, but there's a sheer wrap-around curtain (which helps to diffuse glare from the bathroom lights) and the toilet area is completely private (i.e., a separate little room with a door). There were plenty of clothes hangars and a large Ikea-type armoire with conveniently-sized shelves and a room safe. Bed linens were high quality, with separate "his and hers" duvets for each side of the bed -- very clever and comfy. If we return to Berlin (which we hope to do, given how much there is to see), we'll definitely stay here again.

It's hard to articulate what this hotel does that other premium hotels don't. I think they basically do exactly what you want and need, without you having to ask for it. Staying here is EASY. The staff make it EASY. The quality of the rooms make it EASY. The location makes it EASY. Great hotel. Great staff. Will return without a doubt.

Description
This is a fantastic first class product with an unbeatable location. LH0509 The hotel is low rise but long with a fully fledged garden and terrace at the rear. This hotel enjoys one of the very best locations in Berlin, just 10 mins walk to the Hackescher Hoefe, and very close to all the main sights and attractions in Berlin Mitte.

Appartamento ampio, luminoso, pulito, situato in una zona tranquilla (numerosi ristorante e supermercati nelle vicinanze) a soli 5 minuti a piedi da Alexander Platz. Fermata della metro a 60 metri (ottimo collegamento per l'aeroporto di berlino-schönefeldeld). Bagno confortefole e cucina attrezzata. Staff gentile e diponibile.

Das Hotel ist sehr zentral gelegen, gut an den ÖV angebunden. Das Frühstücksbuffet war super! Die Zimmer sind gemütlich und sauber. Dieses Hotel ist nur zu empfehlen.

Very nice hotel. Staff were welcoming and friendly, lobby was inviting, rooms were spacious and clean, great bed, shower, well-stocked minibar that I didn't use. Computer with internet access in lobby. Parking in garages nearby (not free). Very convenient location just a block to the Underground. I definitely would stay here again.

While we didn't stay in Berlin for very long, the East Side hotel was a nice place to stay. There were a number of reasonable restaurants in the area and the preserved section of the Berlin Wall was right outside the door. My only regret was that the bathroom faucets were automatic. I believe in saving water but this was a bit annoying when washing up.

The hotel is next to the U-bahn which can get you anywhere conveniently. The staff was excellent and spoke English and German. The rooms are clean and the area is very quiet with a few stores nearby.

The hotel offers a very good product with easy transport links to downtown Berlin. Lh0708 The tall building has a futuristic design with an ocean-blue glass facade. The hotel Senator is located close to the fair grounds, the International Congress Center (ICC), the Olympic Stadium, the Deutschlandhalle and has great public transportation links. The tram journey to town is fast, easy and hassle free.

I'll be brief and to the point, this is the best hotel experience I have EVER had, I travel a lot and have stayed in some fantastic hotels but this one is in a league of it's own. We have never been made to feel so welcome, the staff are all amazing, the room stunning, the gifts they gave us were so thoughtful and lovely. If you stay at this hotel and you don't leave feeling a little sad that your not staying longer with them you'd have to stark raving mad. Me, I'm a stark raving fan!

Lovely hotel in perfect location

This is a comfortable hotel with views on to the television tower. Perfect location for shopping, restaurants, bars and clubs. Most of Berlin's attractions are within a short walking distance.
The spa was lovely and open up to 11pm. The cocktail bar was also a good place to start a night out, with a daily happy hour.
I would definitely return tothis hotel and recommend to friends.

The hotel and location are excellent. The only problems are the internet and the price. There is a charge for the internet unless it is used in the lobby.
The hotel charges more if you try to extend your stay at the hotel than at third party websites. This hotel is on the south side of Hackescher Markt which is quiet.

emplacement idéal
on peut tout faire à pied , même si certaines fois les transports en commun dépannent ( qui sont à 500m max pour le métro !! )
chambre très spacieuse et très confortable.
jacuzzi ( trop frais 32,33°C ) salle de sport , piscine , sauna . tout pour se détendre avec une très grande amplitude horaire ( 6h - 23h ) si je ne me trompe pas
des restos , bars et boulangeries pas loin
si on devait chercher des points négatif : le wifi payant , le petit dej tres cher ( vaut mieux aller dans les restos alentour pour moitié moins on a le grand breakfast !! ) et le jacuzzi pas assez chaud
tout ça pour chipoter

Ich hatte ein Apartment für drei Nächte gebucht. Der Wohnraum mit Küche war sehr geräumig und auch das Schlafzimmer war ausreichend groß. Alles Wichtige, das man zum Kochen braucht, ist vorhanden. Die Räume sind stilvoll und gepflegt eingerichtet. Auch das Badezimmer war wunderbar.
In knapp fünf Minuten ist man bei der U-Bahnstation U2, die durch das Zentrum fährt. Die Friedrichsstraße oder Checkpoint Charlie hat man zu Fuß in knapp zehn Minuten erreicht und auch der Potsdamer Platz ist nur 15 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt.
Der Supermarkt, zwei Minuten entfernt, hat nur eine sehr kleine Auswahl. Eine große Auswahl gibt es dafür am Potsdamer Platz.
Es stehen direkt vor dem Hotel Hochhausblöcke, was merkwürdig für die Lage eines 5-Sterne-Hotels ist. Aber sie sind eine Ausnahme in der Gegend, die (auch nachts) sicher und keineswegs unedel ist.
Das Personal war freundlich, geduldig und zuvorkommend.
Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt absolut.
Handtücher werden täglich gewechselt und auch das Geschirr wird täglich abgewaschen.
Minuspunkte: die Ausstattung in der Küche war ganz gut, aber trotzdem etwas spärlich. Ein merkwürdiger Geruch hing im Zimmer, den man aber nur die ersten 10 Sekunden riechen konnte. Das Hotel ist im Zentrum Berlins, aber eher am Rand dieses Zentrums.

We booked "unknowing" and only chose the Hotel because it had breakfast included. What a wonderful surprise when we arrived. The Hotel was clean and very smart, the Staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast had an unbelievable amount of choice with unlimited quantities! The location was such a bonus as the U-Bahn (underground) was right outside the front door and bus stops including sightseeing buses a 5 minute walk away. We purchased Berlin Welcome Cards from the Hotel which gave us so many free travel options and discounts in various sights and restaurants. There were many shops and restaurants around the immediate area although we did enjoy the meal we treated ourselves to one night in the Hotel restaurant. We just could not afford to do it every day! We did wonder if it would be noisy being a City Centre Hotel but we found it all very peaceful at night although very bustling and lively by day as it is virtually next door to Check Point Charlie. We plan to visit Berlin again next year and will definitely be booking into this Hotel again.

It was great to stay in a hotel which is a little different. The location is excellent with the railway station and many restaurants nearby. Much thought has been put into the decor. All members of staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly and the breakfasts (which were not included in the price we paid) were delicious. Unusually, no charge was made for fruit juice or water from the mini bar in the room.

Waren für 4 Nächte im Sir F.K. Savigny. Dank Nespresso- Maschine konnten wir bereits vor dem Frühstück einen guten Kaffee geniessen. Die erste "Ladung" der Minibar (alkoholfreie Getränke) war gratis.
Top- Lage, S- Bahnhof Savigny- Platz gleich um die Ecke. Tolle kleine Restaurants, Cafés und Kneipen in näherer Umgebung.

super Lage, Nähe U-Bahn, ruhig, nettes, hilfsbereites Personal, schöne Zimmer, wunderschöner Pool, gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt. Würde es jederzeit wieder nehmen und weiterempfehlen.

My brother and I have both travelled extensively overseas and agree this was the best accommodation ever. Beautiful rooms, spacious bathrooms and friendly and very professional staff. The food was excellent and excellent value for money. Particularly eye catching was the original and very tasteful art in the rooms and public spaces - almost a visit to an art gallery in itself.

Nette Mitarbeiter, schöne und saubere Zimmer mit vielen nützlichen Extras (Joggingkarte, Fernsehzeitung, Nähset, Föhn im Bad).
Lage ist okay, Straßenbahn und Bus direkt vor der Tür, zur S-Bahn läuft man 10 Minuten.
Unser Zimmer war zur Straße raus, es ging aber vom Lärm her.

An excellent location, room was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a separate walk in shower which was wonderful. The breakfast was really good value at $14 Euro for a continental breakfast and best of all check out is at noon weekdays and two pm at weekends. HIghly recommend this hotel
