This hotel is a pleasant finding which I booked in a package with a flight. I stayed here for almost a week and it was great. Nice staff and breakfast. The management was nice enough to extend the breakfast until after lunch on the New Years day realizing that everyone was out a night before celebrating the new year. The room is small but very nicely decorated with style. Comfy bedding and lighting. I stayed in the "rewards" room so the standard rooms might look different. Centrally located with metro S+U located a block from the hotel.

perfect hotel for a city break

It was the second time that I have visited Berlin. It's a perfect hotel for a city break. Hotel is very close to next underground station "U6 Kochstrasse" (2-3 min to walk).
The Internet is for free since 2012, but therefore you have to pay more for breakfast, now 14EUR.
Staff is very friendly.

The Hotel is very convenient for City Centre, close to Checkpoint Charlie and Kochstrasse Underground station on U6 line.
Rooms are spotless and beds Very Comfortable.
Bathroom small but well appointed.
Breakfast is superb quality though location for the Hot Dishers/Toaster is at the bottom of a "U" shaped servery and can get congested whilst people wait for Toast, however worth waiting for.
From booking website we were slightly mislead in thinking Breakfast was included, which it is not, but this is the only criticism we have.
Our room (No 125 near Wilhelmstrasse) was a bit noisy with Traffic noise from early morning ,( we sleep with window open), but being so close to City this is probably unavoidable.
Low numbered rooms would avoid this noise but all in all the Hotel was excellent.

Close to the historic centre of Berlin. 5 minutes to the underground, Nicolai quarter is 1km, Alexanderplatz is 1,5km, the ICC fair grounds 10km and Tegel Airport 11km.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 6 Personen über Pfingsten in Berlin. Das Hotel hat eine gute Lage, nur 3 min. von einem U-Bahn-Knoten (Name "Gleisdreieck") entfernt, so dass Excursionen zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten problemlos zu gestalten sind. Es liegt in einer Seitenstraße und trotz der Lage in einem Industrie-/Gewerbegebiet sehr ruhig, wobei die Gewerbetätigkeit sich in Grenzen hält. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
Lobenswert ist das includierte Frühstücksbuffet - Herz was begehrst du!!- und mit 16 € bei Zubuchung nicht zu teuer.
Die Zimmer sind hell und freundlich. Die Klimaanlage haben wir nicht benötigt, ist aber im Sommer bestimmt von Vorteil.
Einziges Manko, wenn man es denn so nennen kann, sind die, zumindest in unserem Zimmer, sehr festen Matratzen, die bestimmt Härtegrad 4 hatten, wenn es das überhaubt gibt.
Resumee! Ich kann das Hotel bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen, und werde es beim nächsten Berlinaufenthalt sicher wieder buchen.

Beautiful Hotel at a 30 secs walk from Griesdleick train station. Fabulous dining and breakfast are including the restaurant. Staff is very very cooperative and helpful. Would love to stay again and highly recommend it to every traveller.

Hotel was located close to the downtown area. Only about about a 15 minute walk t checkpoint charlie, and brandenbug gate. Hotel food was expensive. 22 euro buffet breakfast and 25 euro buffet dinner - only. Plenty of other options down the street. A performance theatre located across the street as well. Overall, would stay again, just would not eat in the hotel again.

We found the hotel convenient to bus and metro. The breakfast buffet was out of the world. Eought food for the delicious food for the whole day. The room was spaciaous clean and modern. Wifi was not free and rather expensive. We had a great stay.

Sehr empfehlenswertes Hotel für eine Städtereise nach Berlin. Eine U-Bahnstation ist direkt um die Ecke. In der Gegend Neukölln überwiegend türkische Imbisse und Läden, aber bis zum Alexanderplatz sind es nur 10 Min. mit der U-Bahn.
Das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Preis war in sofern schlecht, das die Beschreibung den Anschein erweckte das Frühstück dabei ist. Man hat uns auch erst nach dem 3. Frühstück informiert, daß das Frühstück noch zu bezahlen ist. Deshalb sind wir dann auch zu spät zu unserer Veranstaltung am letzten Tag gekommen weil wir von der Rezeption dann noch 1/2 Stunde aufgehalten wurden.

We booked "unknowing" and only chose the Hotel because it had breakfast included. What a wonderful surprise when we arrived. The Hotel was clean and very smart, the Staff very friendly and helpful and the breakfast had an unbelievable amount of choice with unlimited quantities! The location was such a bonus as the U-Bahn (underground) was right outside the front door and bus stops including sightseeing buses a 5 minute walk away. We purchased Berlin Welcome Cards from the Hotel which gave us so many free travel options and discounts in various sights and restaurants. There were many shops and restaurants around the immediate area although we did enjoy the meal we treated ourselves to one night in the Hotel restaurant. We just could not afford to do it every day! We did wonder if it would be noisy being a City Centre Hotel but we found it all very peaceful at night although very bustling and lively by day as it is virtually next door to Check Point Charlie. We plan to visit Berlin again next year and will definitely be booking into this Hotel again.

Description
The Ibis Hotel Potsdamer Platz is close to the historic district of Berlin. The former border area with Checkpoint Charlie and the Brandenburg Gate almost runs through the hotel. It is an ideal location for discovering the eastern and western parts of thecapital city. Our modern rooms are air-conditioned and spacious.
