The area looked a bit dodgy at first, but turned out not to be that bad. It's close to the Eurostar station and really close to a metro station. The hotel is smaller than expected, but was happy with the rooms and service. The breakfast was good, and the staff friendly. Good value for money.

It was good, near the Gare du Nord International train station so it was really easy for me to the station at 5 a.m. It was on January, a chilly night and early morning travel. Hotels, cafes and restaurants were nearby. The metro is near so not far from many attractions and the airport to by train. if you are taking a shared taxi then it will cost you 18 Euros (this is the price on 2010 Jan) or by cab almost 36 to 40 Euros.
The only problem I had was no internet was there....

It has a great location, just off of Clichy and about a block away from the Moulin Rouge. Front desk was helpful and spoke English as well. Though the apart'hotel thing is kinda cool, they never cleaned the place while we were there, but we saw other rooms being cleaned... Do we have to request it...?

Hotel Terass is a great location from which to explore Paris, particularly if you like Montmarte! About 10min walk from closest metro stop. Great views of the city (and the cemetary) if you're willing to pay a little extra. The rooms are quite small, but I believe that's to be expected for Paris.
We had hoped to avail of the terrace bar during our stay, but unfortunately it was closed for the whole weekend.
Also, rookie mistake I know, but make sure breakfast is included in your booking if that's what you want!

Very near Lamarcke-Calincourte metro. Use the elevator coming up if you are lazy, it is near 100ish stairs going down. It is Metro line 14, you can change to more central lines at Madeleine and Concorde. Buy a pass for the Metro, it is really convenient. Safe to walk even late at night, there are always people around. Arrange breakfast in the hotel, it is most convenient that way. There is a pastry shop, a cheese shop, a wine shop, and a bit expensive grocery quite nearby. Also a nice book shop, a toy store, and some restaurants/bars there. Not a long walk from the Montmartre cemetary, notr from the Moulin Rouge. Hotel staff will give you what you need, but this is not to be confused with coddling. Everything is appropriate for the cash you pay. If you need servants, go elsewhere. If you want a clean and comfortable place to stay, not crippling your wallet, stay here.

Hotel Desk spoke English - very helpful and friendly. Hotel is in hilly MontMantre area of Paris - 15 minute walk from Metro (uphill). Close to Sacre Cour & Moulin Rouge. Only serves breakfast, but lots of great bistros to eat. Very clean, comforatble. Not spacious, but very reasonable for Paris. Internet service. Quiet, off the tourist track. Price reasonable.

(0508ADB) This is a traditional, 6-storey building, in a Haussman style, with iron balconies on the front of the 2nd and 5th floors. The Metropol hotel is situated only a few steps away from Gare du Nord overground and metro station, with direct connections by bus and subway to the main city sites, such as the Opera, Montmartre and Notre Dame.

L'hôtel est situé à peine à 2 minutes de la gare du Nord. Très bien entretenu, et le personnel est agréable. Nous avons réservé une chambre triple au deuxième étage, assez spacieuse et à un prix difficilement trouvable ailleurs à Paris. Nous avions aussi une chambre double au cinquième, un petit souci d'aération, mais en laissant la porte du balcon ouverte, plus de problème. Très apprécié aussi, le WIFI à 5 euro pour 24h. On y retournera sans aucun doute.

Rated as 3 star, but equipment and facilities are that old and tired that it is more of a 2 star hotel. As most typical Parisian hotels, it's also quite noisy, both from other rooms and street.
Breakfast is ok (bit more than standard continental), but av. value for money @ 9 Euro, and Internet not free, but charged at 5 Euro/day.

The first room we were given had a leaking airconditoner and a strong smell of mould and no mini bar. We were moved to another room where the airconditioner, while it ran, was not effective and the lighting in the room was poor. Fortunately the weather was mild so we did not suffer greatly. The second room had a mini bar but was smaller that the first - very cramped .Both rooms had cracked tiles, chipped baths and cracked wash basins. I would not stay at this hotel again

We stayed for nine nights. The room was at the fifth floor and we had a wonderfull view over Paris from our small balcony. The personell was friendly.

Whether you are on a business trip or on a vacation, you will enjoy and appreciate your stay at the BEST WESTERN Montmartre. The hotel is fully air-conditioned, offering Wi-Fi access, and has six floors accessible by an elevator. Some guest rooms overlook a nice garden.
Our hotel is located within walking distance from the famous Montmartre, Sacre-Coeur Basilica, Place du Tertre, Funiculaire, and Moulin-Rouge. The main spots such as Louvres Museum, Opera House, Saint-Germain-des Pres are very easily reachable by public transportation. Two underground major lines stop at 50 meters from our hotel, (Line Number 4 and & Number 12). The International Roissy Charles De Gaulle Airport is 20 minutes by taxi. The exhibitions and fairs centers, Le Bourget, Paris Nord Villepinte, and Porte de Versailles, are reachable promptly from the hotel with public transportation.
All the main companies located north of Paris in Saint-Denis or Saint-Ouen cities are nearby. As a tourist you will be able to go every where from the hotel and enjoy Paris and as businessman after your day at work you will appreciate all the attractions all around the city. Not in the best part of town, crowded, dirty area. Our room is comfortable though and newly renovated. Has a/c, lcd tv, free wifi (can access in your room) coffee and bottled water. Special recognition to Alex & Emmanuel for being so accomodating, helpul and gave valuable info on how to enjoy the city. Hotel is pretty close to fast food, souvenir shopping, metro and the tour bus stop. There is a supermarket next door.

We did not spend a lot of time at the hotel, it was certainly located in a very convenient location, in close vicinity to the Subway system that was absolutely fantastic. The hotel was small, but about averagge for Europe. It was very clean, and the attendants were extremely helpful on getting around and where the best sites and restaurants were located.

Le lit était confortable et propre. Mais la douche a besoin d'un sérieux coup de neuf: flexible cassé, traces d'humidité dans le coin. La télévision ne fonctionnait pas bien. Une seule prise de courant disponible (pour la télévision).

This hotel is right by the metro so it makes it easy to get around. The area looks a little scary but it's perfectly fine. Staff was friendly. Rooms are small but very nice:-)

Hotel economico para Paris y con bajo presupuesto. Habitaciones standar. Desayuno incluido mas que aceptable. Poco ruido.
Baño pequeño, asi como el ascensor, donde caben dos personas abrazadas. Muy cerca del terminal del metro en la Porte de Clignancourt.
Barrio muy sucio y lleno de inmigrantes; intimida a la primera vista, pero nunca nada de que quejarse.
Volvería solo por el precio

really enjoyed our stay at the Royalle, its quite a small hotel with very unusual decor, plush, opulent, would go back again if in Paris. Only down side was that it is right in the red light area which we did not realise before hand - did not cause us any problems. 100mt to metro station.

We knew the hotel was close to Gare de Nord, but since we did not do any location research, took a cab. He did not recognize the address and called the number on the reservation and then proceeded to take us to the sister Hotel (not the Kube). Welcome to Paris. You can walk from the Gare de Nord, but don't expect a good location. A French friend referred to the neighborhood as "little Baghdad". Although the price was good, the hotel is already a little dated and I cannot tell if it is well maintained. This was probably hot when it opened for a bit due to the bar (also tired) and "trendy" neighborhood during the real estate boom. I'd avoid this hotel unless you need to desparately be near Gare de Nord.

Hotel Chat Noir was a great place for my mother and I to stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke English very well. I was mostly impressed by how well maintained the hotel was. Our room was spotless every time we returned. The linens were clean and comfortable. The room is small but sufficient. The bathroom was spotless and it had a modern style. The downfall of this hotel was the lack of amenities and the thin walls. I would not recommend it for families with children and if staying there keep in mind that your neighbours hear everything. I would go out of my way to stay at Hotel Chat Noir in the future...but I may pack a pair of earplugs.

The Bellevue Hotel, a newly renovated 3 star hotel, is in a great location at the foot of the Sacré Coeur Basilica in the Montmartre area, renowned for its little cafés and restaurants full of life and atmosphere. All of the local attractions are easily reached by local transport at Metro Anvers, which is a few stops away from the Gare du Nord station, and there are metro stops such as Etoile (the Champs Elysees) and Opera quite close to the hotel.
The hotel offers good accommodation in a typical Parisian fashion. All 36 charming and comfortable rooms are pleasantly decorated in burgundy or blue tones, all of which are equipped with brand new white bathrooms including WC, Shower/bath, television, telephone and internet access (ask your local provider for their local access number) to guarantee all visitors a pleasant stay. There is a breakfast room located in the main lobby next to the reception area, as well as an elevator for your convenience. A few finishing touches are missing (paintings and new furniture in the breakfast room are expected very soon) in the lobby area. The street neighbourhood is very quiet at night. Very good value for money!
