I was in town for business, but what an extraordinary delight to see Lyon and stay in such a beautiful property as well. Prime location to see the quaint yet historic area of the city. I venture to stay again.

The desk clerk (Sebastien) was helpful and friendly when we checked in
The elevator is small, but the view from our 5th floor room was great. Nice bathroom, tea and coffee making in room. The totel is located on a beautiful street and we could walk to both rivers, the old town, cathedral, Place Bellecour, museums and Roman remains. Nice welcome drink, good continental breakfast and lunch box each day (which I have to say we did not use, but still nice)!

Cet hôtel mérite ses 3 étoiles sauf pour la situation qui est un peu excentrée. Grande chambre confortable, calme et bien entretenue. Très bon service et rapport qualité/prix. Accès WiFi restreint (nombreux sites inaccessibles).

The location of this hotel is outstanding; close to the
Saone River and within walking distance to the old city and the city center. Also within a block of many local restaurants (no English on menues but great food and prices). For an old European Hotel this Hotel is in great condition, clean and great service by the staff. They definitely deserve the Best Western designation as they meet all their standards, They also had a computer and printer availabe at no charge which allowed me to print our boarding passes for our flight home.
Highly recommend this Hotel for all except those seeking a big luxury type Hotel.
Would definately stay at this hotel again if we get back to Lyon.

The reception staff were very welcoming and got us checked in early. They spoke very good English which really helped. We had a very enjoyable two nights here but we didn't have breakfast included as we prefer to eat out.

The Globe and Cecil was quite comfortable, though the room and bathroom were much more modest than expected. The room was meticulously cleaned each day and the staff very friendly and accomodating. The location has to be one of the best in the city, very lively with shopping, restaurants and bars, one block off the place bellecour (the largest square in Europe). very easy walking to almost everything.

Nous avons été déçus par l'aménagement de ce studio par ailleurs bien placés dans le vieux Lyon :
- nous avons effectué cette demande de réservation 1 mois avant notre séjour : pas de changement des serviettes alors que nous sommes restés du 30/12/10 au 3/1/11
- pas de balais ni d'aspirateurs disponibles pour faire le ménage ; en sachant que ce studio permet de faire la cuisine : l'heure de ménage coûtant 28 euros
!
- l'inventaire du studio n'a pas été vérifié avant notre location : pas de casserole disponible ; la plaque de cuisson était hors service et nous avons dû en demander le remplacement ;

This is a very pleasant and charming hotel, which has been renovated in a lovely way. The location is also excellent for sightseeing or shopping. 04/09 cg This is one of the oldest hotels in Lyon in term of building. It looks traditional from the outside. The hotel is located in the heart of the city. The area Les Terreaux is on the peninsula between the Rhone and Saone rivers. It is only few minutes walk from the Opera, the Celestins theatre, the fine arts museum and the old city with all the restaurants and bars.

The hotel was the meeting place for actors, actresses and all artists who performed along the banks of the river Saone. The old Lyon is now an international, historical and protected site.
This is a very good property in the best location in Lyon .Cg 09/08 This is a historical building and established as a hotel, since the 16th century. Ideally located in Lyon's interesting Old Town, classified by Unesco as part of our world heritage, the phenix Hotel is a residence of refined character and superbly decorated hotel with an incomparable view of the river Saone.
