Hotel Glo is just about perfect: absolutely the best location, trendy but functional finnish design, supercomfortable beds, friendly and efficient staff, great breakfast (mainly organic, top level produce with a great selection of options but not too many to make it hard to choose). It is a modern sophisticated place, with a bar/cafe in place of the traditional lobby. We booked the basic rooms at a great price given that breakfast was included. The spa was not included at these rates, (extra fee 20 euro) as i travelled with my parents who were not going to use these facilities, but it is included with higher level rooms, so if you are likely to use the beautiful spa/sauna (which is shared with the Hotel Kamp next door) it may be cost effective booking the more expensive rooms. I have previously stayed at a number of hotels in Helsinki (including the beautiful but very traditional Kamp next door) but the Glo is my favourite.

Hotel was clean and hotel style was very chic! Hotel staff was very friendly, helpful, and informative. Thumbs up on the location. The hotel restaurant "Grill It" had great food, but the food took a long time with almost an hour wait after we ordered. Breakfast was just as good!

City is small, so location was not bad, although the area is quite commercial. Buffet breakfast was fairly good, despite bad coffee. Room was tiny. Excellent blackout curtains for those 20-hr sunny days in summer. Helsinki is a costly city; this hotel was a decent value in relative terms.

Great location convenient to downtown right on a tram stop. Best value in Helsinki on a reasonable budget.
Keep in mind this is Not serviced during your stay (no fresh towels or cleanup) and check-in can be tricky without a cel phone to call in (there are no staff on site). Besides that it's great with separate living room and kitchen from the bedroom. Will use Hellstan again if returning to Helsinki.

Room was fairly basic but a good size and clean. Location was quite good, an easy 10 minute walk or short tram ride to the main downtown area. Full kitchenette and grocery store two blocks away. Bathroom was good with a decent shower. In quiet area. Price was excellent for pricey Helsinki. Reception is self-service with a code to get your key and a phone number for any concerns, so a bit self service. Overall, good value for your money in Finland.

Hellsten Helsinki Parliament is located in a beautiful apartment building that dates back to 1912. Hotel has 43 hotel apartments, each with its own telephone line, TV, generous workspace, broadband connection and well-equipped kitchenette. All of the hotel apartments are tastefully decorated in Scandinavian style. The reception is open Mon - Fri, 8 am to 8 pm. Guests can also check in 24 hours a day with the automated check-in system. Hotel amenities are Dry cleaning, Smoke-free hotel, Internet access - High-Speed, Laundry service, Laundry room and sauna - free of cost, Lift / Elevator, Lobby, Non-smoking rooms, Parking facilities - at cost and Reception. The location of Hellsten Helsinki Parliament is excellent for both business and leisure. You can reach both the railway and bus station on foot and the airport is less than 30 minutes away by car. A wide range of services, such as shops, cafes, restaurants and cinemas, are within walking distance. With its 150 shops and restaurants, the Kamppi shopping centre is less than 800 metres from the hotel. The city centre is just 600 metres away.
There will no breakfast service in Hellsten Helsinki Parliament starting from 1st of January 2012. The last breakfast will be served on 31st December 2011 (Saturday).

We had a one bedroom apartment here for the same price as many nearby hotels charge for just a room. It was roomy with a kitchenette, nice to be able to make some simple meals ourselves after two weeks on the road with only restaurant meals. There is no service, apart from changing the linen every third day. This was ok with us. The location is only five to ten minutes walk away from Helsinki city centre. Recommended!

Good centrally located clean place - however, if you are visiting during weekend there is no service: reception is just closed. Not that it is a major problem, but you need to find out about access codes ets beforehand. No help phone listed on the entrance door...

I was very happy with this hotel. The Hotel is just near the station and airport bus. The breakfast was excellent and it was very good value for a nights accommodation with breakfast.

The hotel in general is nice.
Personally I didn't like the bed - it was too soft.
Also I didn't find the breakfast so good as it was 2 years ago: the variety of products is reach but not very tasty.

I loved this hotel. The staff spoke excellent English, and gave impeccable instructions for any question we posed them. The hotel is a renovated building from an old student union building dating from the 1800s - it has many quirky architectural features and truly resembles a palace. The main floor had a lounge set off from the reception desk which contained several large leather chairs, a massage chair, a computer terminal with free internet, antique safari-style (?) furniture - I imagined it looked just like gentlemen's clubs in the 1800s. Our room was fairly small - we had a cot brought in for our kid and this made it somewhat cramped. Unlike most European hotels, our bathroom was generous and even had a bath! The free breakfast was extensive, but not really to my taste - not enough fruit I guess.
