Dominicans are great people. We really enjoyed the country. The hotel was good. Food all the time, but I recommend to book for the restaurant for dinner. Better quality:)

I chose the hotel based on other reviews on various websites. I was looking for something more tranquil than the usual all-inclusives.
From the reviews, I'm guessing that the hotel has its fans.
I was put off immediately upon entering my room and seeing bits of the ceiling and wall plaster sprinkled at random intervals, the lack of window screens, and only half of the lights working.
The property is very basic, adequate for the price, and a good location for access to restaurants and shops around the town.
Most importantly, it's NOT on a beautiful beach. The beach is completely washed out and the hotel is nestled on an outcropping of rocky crags with only very small patches of access to the water.

during the summer . i went to sosua for a week that was the wost week of my life. First , at the Airport no bus from the hotel was there for pick up .Eventhough, i have been charged for ground transportation .my first and last i had to sent extra money to save my life i did not know where , i was going. Thank god i'm still a life as an educator, i will informed my co-woker about that terrible bad experience I HAD i'm still waitting for my ground transportation soon i will put more information on facebook and utube if i do not here from you guy.behave yourself

Hotel Casa Cayena is situated near the center of Sosua in Puerto Plata Province. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from beautiful Sosua Bay, its two beaches and the town center with supermarkets, banks and shops. The hotel is perfectly located for scuba diving- instruction available- and other water sports. Scuba instructions, merengue dance classes, laundry and dry cleaning services are available. The hotel also has a beautiful swimming pool. Enjoy fabulous meals and drinks at the Cayena Bar and Restaurant on site. All rooms at Casa Cayena have air conditioning and cable TV. Great hotel for the price away from all the hustle and bustle of Sousa but close enough to all the excitement.. I would definitely visit again, despite the pool not being very clean overall great place to stay

the Hotel El Colibriin Sosua It was a okay hotel to stay, but the proble that i had was there was no tv or cable in room. on arrival i was taken to my room but was not told that i had another like a living room though a door that could not open for the first 6 days that i was there. the staff was very helpful. i would go there again but this time i want cable.
