Paphos Garden Apartments: self-catering break

We stayed in a Superior Studio - 1 king bed apartment. We didn't use any of the hotel amenities, e.g. restaurant, pool, breakfast facilities as that wasn't the sort of holiday we were after but we could have. We just needed good, clean accomodation and access to a general store for some light groceries - and this was provided on the ressort complex. We bought breakfast food and snacks (mainly to keep costs down) and opted for eating out in the evening and this suited us perfectly well. The apartment comprised of an open plan living room and kitchenette, equipped with fridge freezer, microwave, cooker and dining table; the bedroom facilities were clean and comfortable with large wardrobe and dressing table; the separate bathroom was equipped with power-shower/bath, sink and toilet. Housekeeping visited once a day to keep the apartment clean. We had access to a verranda and garden furniture and spent many late evenings taking in the cool night air and sipping a drink or two! There was access to two pools but for us, sitting by a chlorine filled pool in 32 degree heat when the municipal beach was close by (and all the other beauty spots on the island) didn't seem sensible. A word of warning: there were cats everywhere! But as cat lovers it didn't bother us too much and if you do not feed them, they tend to leave you alone. Unfortunately Cyprus has a bit of a ferral cat problem but as I said it was more amusing than annoying. A great ressort and we've signed up for their loyalty scheme so we hope to use them again.

This is a fantastic self catering option for guests who want more independence, and a fantastic starting point for exploring Paphos and the surrounding area (12/09 EP) It is a dark ochre cluster of maisonette style buildings, set in gardens around the sizeable pool area. This quality studio and apartment complex is located in a quiet residential area of Paphos.

Built to exceptional three star standards, the Agapinor Hotel is superbly situated in the centre of Paphos Town - Cyprus, with panoramic views of the West Coast, offering the ideal place for a Paphos holiday. The hotels location is ideal for shopping and sightseeing, with the local Market and Bazaar, District Museum, Public Gardens and Town Hall only a few minutes walk away. Kato Paphos with it's beaches and bars and the Harbour, which is ringed with tavernas, is only 1.5 miles, approximately 5 minutes by car. Within a short distance of the Agapinor Hotel Paphos is Land of the Kings, the House of Theseus and Dionysos and Saint Paul's Pillar. Bus stops are situated directly outside the Hotel and 200 metres away and the bus service will take you to the Local Market, Kato Paphos and Coral Bay, which is approximately eight miles away.

This is a high quality apart-resort, the rooms are fabulous and among the most modern and spacious to be found in Paphos. It is an excellent choice for any type of holidaymaker (06/10 EP) It is a purpose built very modern luxury apartment block, with a central patio where the pool and beach area is. Located on a stretch of sandy beach front just outside Paphos, close to the Tombs of the Kings.

The Azia Blue occupies a third of the Azia resort. Property focuses on sophistication, spacious living and luxury for all the family. In the vicinity of 3 golf courses and great watersports activities. Facilities include one of the island's largest outdoor pools, indoor pool, gym and a well renowned spa. (DB 10/08) A large whitewashed building set in beautifully landscaped gardens. Hotel is situated a few kilometres from Paphos centre and is privileged to share close proximity to the finest locations and treasures of the island. One of the few resorts with a west-facing outlook, providing guests with a sublime view of blazing indescribable sunsets.

Our room was spacious and pleasantly, altho' not lavishly furnished and the bathroon was a bit small and dated.We had a sea view room with lovely views over the beautiful pool and gardens; rooms on the roan side of the hotel would not be anything like as good.A couple of gripes - breakfast was excellent, but our half board dinner included in our holiday was of a really poor standard for a 5 star hotel- one or two decent course would have been better than 4 courses and nightly fare of gateuax with fake cream; the spa treatments were very expensive even with a so -called 10% discount on offer; as a result no one booked them!We liked the hotel, but it does seem to lack the attention to detail and service that some evidence of hands on management would bring

The hotel is rated as a Five Star hotel but in my view it falls somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. My wife and I have not stayed happy with our visit. The hotel is "crying" for renovation. Its appearance, particularly its rooms, is not the one of a Five Star Hotel. The telephone line in our room was not working. The TV set was ancient. The same with the mini bar as well as the safe. The hot breakfast next morning was not analogous of a five star hotel. The coffee was not good, some of the food items were cold, etc. In addition, the central areas were not adequately airconditioned.
All-in-all, the money we paid were to much for this hotel. I really wonder how a hotel like this continues to bear the Five Star designation!

Great budget hotel offering various facilities including sauna, Jacuzzi, fitness room and satellite TV with video in the lobby area. Baby sitting services available on request. Good value for money. Complimentary ticket per room to the popular Paphos aquarium. (DB 10/08) Modern white washed building typical of the area. This family run hotel is located steps away from the Tombs of the Kings archeological site. A variety of shops, bars, coffee shops and restaurants embrace the hotel. Within a short walking distance one can reach the picturesque Paphos Fishing Harbour and the centre of the old town shopping area. There is also easy access to the lovely beaches of Coral Bay and a daily bus service runs just outside the hotel to both Pano and Kato Paphos.

Description
4 star facilities at 3 star rates making this property one of the best in its category. Facilities include outdoor/indoor pool, gym and direct access to the beach. The property commands spectacular views of the surrounding coastline. Although children are accepted, this hotel tends to attract adults. (DB 10/08) Set in its own extensive grounds, this property is a well maintained purpose built hotel. Ample parking space available to all guests outside the property. This superior 3 star hotel is situated five minutes drive from Paphos town centre, equidistant from the town and the popular beach spot of Coral Bay. A property that exceeds in its standard with a variety of facilities to suit all guests.

In general the hotel is good. Unfortunately there are no mini bar in the rooms. I was there with my car. Then I had no transportatíon problem. I have noticed that the shuttle servíces are not frequently.Hotel`s panaroma is excellent.
