This hotel is right in the centre of the city and close to practically everything you want to do and see in Zagreb. Breakfast and the restaurant were excellent. The room was quiet and comfortable , although perhaps a little overheated. Staff were polite and helpful, and the business centre very convenient for faxes etc.Walking around and seeing all the historic churches, museums and markets was great, and especially colourful before Easter with flowers and decorations.

This hotel's exterior is not quite as luxurious as other Westin hotels, but the rooms are great and the fitness center and pool are exceptional. The gym is a full sized gym with free weights, nautilus machines, and treadmills. The pool is beautiful and the locker room is clean and modern.

Nice hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. Pool was nice for kids, but jacuzzi was out of order. No kids breakfast options, full price for them would have been $30 so we skipped it. Walking distance to almost everything, I would stay here again.

we loved this hotel and it was close enough to walk from the train station...staff was wonderful, hotel the most comfortable we stayed in on our 30 day trip...we left it for Slovenia and returned for two more days before heading to Dubrovnik...would go back again

One of the nicest hotels we have stayed at. Close to the train station and only 10 minutes walk to the city centre. Our room was large, comfortable & clean. The hotel facilities are very good. The breakfast was great, with a large range of foods to choose from. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely return if in Zagreb again.

The Laguna is a 3 block walk from the tram, which can take you anywhere in Zagreb. Arriving from the train station proved to be easy. The English-speaking staff was courteous and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived in the early afternoon, and was clean and basically equipped. Nice towels and a cute bathmat with little bare feet outlines. The room was a nice size, facing the parking lot and basically quiet once the buses got parked in early evening. TV reception included a couple of English language channels which was nice. A computer was available in the lobby for a charge. The breakfast served in the huge dining room had typical fare like yogurt, granola, cold cuts and pickles, but also scrambled eggs and some sweet rolls. Service starts at 6:00am, which was nice for our early departure. The lobby gift shop sells both postcards and stamps.

We chose the Palace Hotel in Zagreb because of its proximity to the Railway Station. We were pleasantly surprised to find this fine old hotel was conveniently located at a tram stop (every few minutes and free from the Railway Station) and just a few kuna from the Bus Station. The hotel was quiet well maintained and very comfortable. The service could not be faulted and the breakfast was quite adequate for a European hotel. Additionally it is located across the road from a glorious park a short 10 minute walk to the centre of the city or just jump on the tram as it is still within the free travel precinct.

Having never been to Zagreb, we booked over the internet. We were greeted with an upgrade to a Junior Suite, which was a wonderful size for two tall people. The staff could not have been more gracious or helpful, when needed. We later transferred to another hotel to begin a tour and were disappointed that it did not measure up to the Arcotel Allega.

The hotel is perfect for train travel since it is almost across from the train station. It is a beautiful hotel (only 5 star hotel in Zagreb) with old atmosphere but very new and up to date amenities and bathrooms. Very high class! It is a 10 minute walk to the city center and all tourist locations or a 2 stop tram. You can obtain a tram in front of the train station (2 minute walk) for less than a dollar to go to the city center. Everyone speaks English at the hotel and are very helpful. Many very very important people stay and have stayed here, it also use to be the hotel that the passenger.

I arrived in Zagreb just as it began to rain torrentially. Normally this would have been disappointing, but the lobby bar was so gorgeous I spent several very pleasant hours writing postcards and sipping coffee. When I finally decided to venture out, the concierge provided me with a huge umbrella and a map, having identified the sights of the town as well as the locations of a few places I needed to visit. The hotel has the elegance of a very grand hotel, but the intimacy of a tiny boutique hotel.

Great hotel but a little far away

It was a great hotel, very nice area, beds were comfortable, it was clean and the staff was great. It was a little far from the city center though. It was anywhere from 65-110 KN to get there (about 11-20 dollars). The taxi prices seem to go up at night. I would recommend it though.

We were looking for a hotel to break up a long drive. This hotel was perfect - right off the freeway. The rooms were nothing special, but the hotel had many services including a free internet lounge off the lobby. Not a great location for seeing downtown Zagreb.

good value for money. It also includes a private parking lot ( 09/10 MQ) this is a modern hotel The PORIN Hotel is located close to the highway, not far from the Pleso Airport, away from the bustle of the city, yet only a couple of minutes from the business and cultural center.

Modern and Relaxed

I was very pleased with the room. Larger than I expected and very modern. In fact the whole hotel is very modern and up-to-date. Despite this, there is a very relaxed atmosphere, with discrete and professional staff. The revolving bar/lounge is excellent, with fabulous views of the city. I loved it! I'll definitely stay here again.

Good basic hotel

I say super location because it was next to the airport which is what I needed. If you need a hotel actually in Zagreb don't stay here.
As other people have said there is no food cooked by the Hotel in the evening but they have a menu of pizzas etc which will be delivered by a local Pizzeria. They will then set you a place in the breakfast room for you to eat it. This is good enough for one night.
