I travel to Barranquilla often. I was attracted to SmartSuites because of a price offered by Orbitz. The hotel looks like other hotels of similar ratings. The room had a queen bed instead of a king like most of its competitors. Breakfast was nothing special...reminded me of a Comfort Inn or Hampton Inn breakfast. Other similar hotels in Barranquilla offered made to order omlettes. Gave me only one little bottle of shampoo and one bar of soap. I asked for more at front desk including more towels. I was there for 5 days on one bottle of shampoo and 1 bar of hotel soap. I ended up going to the store and buying soap and shampoo. It would have been nice for the front desk to take an interest.

We always stay at this hotel when we visit Barranquilla. It is centrally located and a great value for the price. The staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the restaurant has a great menu with reasonable prices. I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Hotel was excellent, great location. There are not many good hotels to choose from in Barranquilla - I have stayed at 2-3 other 3-4 start hotels previously - but Estelar Alto Prado has been the best one so far.

I had the pleasure of spending 4 nights in the Hotel Sonesta in Barranquilla. It was my first trip to Colombia and the hotel's staff made me feel at home. Very courteous and very professional. The main desk also spoke English. Room cleanliness A+
I will stay here when I travel back to Barranquilla.

Wonderful stay, delicious food and a perfect view of the city from the top floor, a perfect hotel to stay on any occasion.

Hotel was nice and clean, staff very courteous and a gorgeous event hall. But. Yes, but they will charge you for anything you bring off the streets. You are not allowed to bring water, cokes, drinks of any kind that was not purchased from the hotel. They will stop you at the door. Also, if you plan to have visitors in your room, there is a 25 dollar charge for each person who goes up for even just one second each day. Many hotels do not have this limitation. Also, they will charge you for insurance at the end of your stay. 10 days equals about 50.00
