Hotel pretty clean, but living room area is little dark without window. Suggest partition between living room and bedroom to be sliding door, which could open up into one room.

as always, a fine hotel experience with no hassles and fine accomodations. the buffet breakfast is fantastic, the location is truly unbeatable, and the price, with the summer discounts, made for a great value.

Location is very convenient with most attractions a short taxi ride ($2-3) or subway ride ($.50-1.00) away. Subway staion is 10 minute walk. Neighborhood has a couple grocery stores, food vendors and local restaurants. As to sanitaion concerns, no one in our group of 5 experienced any "intestinal incidents" from street food. The local park is interesting in the morning as many people come for different kinds of individual and group exercise.
The hotel is very nice, with a moderately sized lobby, good staff with enough English speakers, nice pool and hot tub. Did not use the restaurant but it looked nice. Room was a spacious 3 bedroom with living room, dining table and small but efficient kitchen with refrigerator, stove and microwave. There were dishes for 4 and chopsticks but we had to request and pay about $3 extra for silverware and a frying pan. Two bedrooms had fairly comfortable queen beds while the third small bedroom had a twin that was very hard. I slept on with a comforter under me for some softness. The living room couch is large enough for an adult to sleep on. Each bathroom had a tub with shower.
We were in town for 2.5 days. We enjoyed the excellent displays and activities at the Science and Technology Museum in Pudong which also has several good Imax shows. The Oriental Pearl Tower at night gave us great views of the lights of this city of 17 million. The Shanghai Aquarium next door was very good, as was the Shanghai City Museum in the base of the tower, with great reproductions of old Shanghai buildings, stores, dress and Chinese and Western autos from the early to mid 1900s. Walking the Bund at night and seeing the Shanghai families and couples is fun. We went to the shopping area around Yu Yuan Garden and met friends for dinner. They had eaten lunch at the tea house in the little lake in the center of the shopping area and said it was good but very pricey. We went to the Ningbo Dumpling Restaurant across the plaza and went to the second level for dinner. They have several small cooking areas with different kinds of food prepared and on the counter for you to pick up with prices clearly marked. Very good food, wide selection and our family of 5 ate for about $30. Had dessert at the Dairy Queen next door.
We rode the maglev train from the airport to Pudong (435 kph or 261 mph), very impressive smooth ride. Arrival and departure at Shangahi Pudong airport was easy and quick, even going thru immigration on our departure at about 0730.

Great weekend getaway

Staying at the Le Royal Meridien for a long weekend, we upgraded our room to a suite which got us a room on a higher floor and free happy hours at the Club Lounge. It was great to sip champagne and enjoy the wonderful views of the Shanghai skyline. The suite was luxurious, although we found the furniture arrangement a little odd!

I stayed here one night before flying out of Shanghai. Very comfortable and helpful staff. You can see it from the metro stop and there is a shuttle to get back to the airport.

We stayed at this hotel for one night on the way back home. The hotel was wonderful. Rooms were large and clean. We had a room with 2 double beds, this was perfect for my wife and I plus our 2 kids (i think kids under 12 were free).The free shuttle worked out great getting there and back from the airport (PVG) which is only about 15 minutes away. This is probably the nicest hotel that is close to the airport.

The view from the rooms and the hotel were awesome. The staff was the best that I have ever had. The comfort of the rooms and hotel were unbeleiveable. The food variety was so vast I couldn't decide what to eat. Overall it was a great experience!!!

This hotel locate 10 min from the Bund. and walking distance to a factory outlet shopping mall (SHE BU LU), specialized for clothing.nice and cheap breakfast. overall we are very satisfied, unless for the terrible heater in the room. we visit shanghai in February, which are winter in that time. we are extremely cold , because we are come from Indonesia, never experiencing the weather less than 20 Celsius.

Единственное, что оказалось неприятным сюрпризом: когда читал про этот отель, то было указано, что есть бесплатный доступ в интернет. Во-первых, он платный. Пусть и небольшие деньги, но всё же. Стоимость по траффику или за день без лимита (60 юаней в день). К тому же у меня ноутбук был без гнезда под сетевой провод, а wi-fi там нет. В принципе очень достойный для своей цены отель, я считаю.

The hotel is located right across the street from Peoples' Square and the subway stop. The subway is very convenient because the number 2 line takes you straight to and from the airport (You do have to get off the train at one stop and walk across the platform before 10).
It is really convenient for food and shopping. There are places to shop and eat all over the place.
There is a tour bus right across the street.
I liked the staff which spoke english. If you want internet access, bring a computer to hook up in the room. Otherwise, you have to go to the business center in the lobby for an additional charge.
The room was small, but I really like old hotels. It had a kind size bed, nice linens, wood paneled walls.

Overall the hotel was good. It's location is great. It is right across the street from the main subway line and the People's Park and just a few blocks form the expansive pedesrtrian shopping mall. Everything else is just a short cab ride away. We paid for a 3 star and that's what we got. The staff was cordial and accomodating. Our feeling was that the room could have been cleaned a little better but otherwise the room was comfortable. We paid for an upgrade and it was worth it.

Hotel is very easy to get too from PVG airport by either subway or taxi. Taxi cost is about 167 yen. Hotel is really clean and new with amenities of western hotels here. Bed is very comfortable with nice down blankets. Free internet and hotel amenities make this a great place to come home to while away. No problem speaking English here and currency exchange machine in bottom level is convenient to get rmb.

The only complaint is the maid service because something is always missing after they clean the room whether it be a towel, complimentary tea bags, shower gel, shampoo, etc. I stayed 4 night and they clearly did not vacuum the room for that duration. Free internet service is great. Breakfast was not included with the booking so I do not know. Overall experience is GREAT HOTEL FOR THE MONEY!

My girl friend and I stayed in this hotel for two days. For a superior room, it was a little bit small. The room was clean. You have to call the front desk to get some basic stuff like hair drier. Location is good, very close to subway.

A wonderful and elegant hotel for the price.
I had a queen/king room. It was quite small, but fine for one person or a couple for a short stay. A couple would want larger room for more than a day or so.
The room had a wonderful design look and was very clean. Wood floors which are great.
The location is on a side street just off the Bund. Quiet with easy access to the Bund and the Metro only a short walk away.
I have considered staying here on several occassions when coming to Shanghai. I am sorry I took so long to try it.

This hotel has a truly excellent location, very short walk to the square and the best pedestrian shopping street in Shanghai, and to the Bund.
The food was excellent, as was the room. The staff were very helpful, and helped to arrange two excellent tours (to the water city, a must, and a river trip at night (spectacular). I had to prompt them to check other tour companies that had tours running in the off season, but the result was great; nearly private tours with one other charming family or traveling companion each time.
The price was quite reasonable, for a central big city hotel. I would definately choose to stay in this hotel again if going to Shanghai as a tourist.

I first visited Shanghai 25 years ago and the Broadway Mansions Hotel has been around since the 1930's - still my favorite place to stay in Shanghai. The location is excellent - right at the top of the Bund with a great view of the curve of the river. The breakfast was great. We upgraded to get the internet and a higher floor, but that probably wasn't required. The beds were good, room was clean, shower was great. We were glad to have a room on the non-smoking floor.

This was my third stay and will not be my last - great location - great service and great breakfast. Please to note that the level of English spoken by the young staff was much improved hence communication was very easy.

An incredible breakfast buffet, high Victorian ceilings, pleasant staff and conveniently located. Room was very warm but public areas and lobby were chilly in January. Our room had no view but a quick duck outside rewarded one with all the view you could want

A good value-for-money hotel in a great location. While rooms are large and the 'original' floor boards have been retained, it is time for the floors to be upgraded (for health and safety) and some furniture should be replaced. Staff assistance in the main lobby area was very good. Room service was not so good. A good range of food was provided at breakfast but the 'hot' food was often too cold to enjoy. Other food areas for lunch/dinner etc were very disappointing.

i loved everything about this hotel. it was very clean, great location. the only down side is the internet charges. approx 20 USD per day.

We had a very nice modern room with very comfortable king size bed. It was well serviced and spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful - particularly at the concierge desk.
The location is good - close to restaurants and shopping and about one hours walk to the Bund - with a metro station very close. I would definitely stay there again.

In general, City hotel is quite clean and varieties of breakfast. I'll say except for the noisy sound from my next door at midnight, everything is great.
