I have seen this hotel rated on the web from 3 to 5 stars - for me it was 5-star experience. Many of the staff were conversant in English which was extremely helpful. I had all my requests from postcards to ground transportation taken care of quickly. Breakfast buffet had a tremendous selection of items. If my travels take me back to Ningbo, I'll stay at the Crowne Plaza again.
Tianyi Square is a short walk from the hotel and there is a Starbucks on the square, although it doesn't open until 8 in the morning.
The only complaint I have about my stay is that some of the hotel guests do not obey the no-smoking signs and light-up in elevators and on non-smoking floors.

Older hotel with a great location to central downtown. Very reasonal rates. Decent breakfast buffet, several hotel restaurants were closed during our stay. The beds are hard - beyond firm. Location, price and cleanliness are their strengths.

Excellent hotel. Rooms were large, well equipped and functional with stable wi-fi and wired internet. Breakfast buffet is one of the best I've encountered in China. Located relatively close to the raiway station and walking distance to the Ningbo Bund resturant and bar streets. I'll definately stay here again unless the rates jump up as the hotel becomes popular.

Location of this place is perfect. Right accross from the old Bund and short walk to Tianey. Staff is useless. Almost no English. Most of the better hotels in Ningbo will get train ticketes for you for a small fee. Not here. They actually gave me the wrong directions to the train ticket office sending us on a wild goose chase for train tickets and ruining our plans for the day. Rooms are pretty small too.

Although there are just basic facilities available here the Asia Garden does offer a fairly good range of restaurants to tempt the palate. The Maple House offers nice western delicacies the Garden Restaurant serves various Cantonese dishes and local specialties and the Kooraku-Yen Restaurant offers Japanese cuisine of high quality. After a busy day the Melody Lounge and Karaoke Hall are one of the ideal place to spend you night time.
