I have stayed at many upscale hotels. This is one of the best. Really there is no reason to leave the hotel. Great food. 2 Dance clubs. 4 Bars. Pool on top of hotel. Great service. Very professional. Little pricey but within my range. Tip: Ask about Happy Hour for Bars.

Arrival was simple, and easy. Valet parked my car, very helpful in downtown Montreal. Got help with luggage, and very short line at desk. Room was large, comfortable. Balcony was a bonus, though it could have been nicer. Roof pool/bar was seasonally closed, and no work out facilities. Staff was very helpful, rooms were thoroughly cleaned. Location great for shopping, dining, Metro, McGill, and Mount Royal. Highly recommended if it is in your budget.

Our room was comfortable, including the beds. The hotel is a funny mix of updated and outdated, but we had no real complaints, except that the shower was horrible--extremely low water pressure. The location is perfect for folks visiting McGill or downtown Montreal.

this hotel was great for its value. it was conveniently located and clean. the only downside was the fact that their service was kind of slow. we asked for a change of sheets and pillow cases and only the sheets came. we called again but nothing. other than that, it was fantastic.

stayed for 4 days, on business trip to Montreal
The staff was helpful and attentive
Very nice better than continental breakfast served each morning until 10:30 which is good for a bit more of a sleep in
I had a room on the first floor which I enjoyed as there were large windows affording plenty of light for office work between sales calls
Valet parking at the hotel for $27 per day or short walk to public lot at college on same block for $15 per day - or street parking free from 9PM until 9AM - pay station at $3 per hour otherwise
The hotel was clean, answered all my questions (French or English your preference)
An older property there are no elevators however the staff is ready to help with your bags if needed
Exercise facilities were small but no one else used them during my stay - dry sauna also available
High tea at 4PM if you are at the hotel
Wireless internet included - worked well and when I had some VPN issues the staff rebooted the system to clear my problem
A very nice place and I would stay there again for business or pleasure

- Oct 26, 2011
We loved every minute of it. The arrival and departure points were up and above our expectations. The Staff was very eficient and fast. Things were always done very rapidly and in a pleasant way. The breakfast was delightful and the atmosphere in the Salon where we ate was extremely relaxing. Again the service was impeccable. Our room was big enought for what we needed. Clean and organized. Very easy access to Internet-apprreciated. The only little hick was the bed (I did upgrate for a Queen size when I booked and only got a regular size bed) But, we didn't even bring it up with the Hotel Staff - Everything else was so accomadating that we left things as is. Overall we enjoyed our stay enormously-location was near to anything and everything. Will defenitely book this Hotel in the futur.

The hotel was clean and comfortable but it is no 5 star. But a good price and location, I would book again because of the decent price, right next to saint catherine street and the restaurant in the hotel was actually pretty good.

If you want to be stay in a great spot Labelle Suites is the way to go. The hotel is very central (Berri-Uqam, which takes you everywhere, Ste-Catherine, St-Denis ,etc).
The size of my bedroom (Standard Queen) was a bit small (not tiny) but I was there to sleep anyway. The kitchenette was useful, the bathroom was fine, everything was clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was nice as well, an easy fast way to start the day (eggs, sausages, potatoes, fèves au lard, cereal, toast, bagels, croissants, coffee, hot chocolate, a mix of canned fruit, juice,etc.).
The only downside was that even though Labelle Street isn't a very busy one, noise could be heard from outside on the 2nd floor at night even if the windows were closed. It didn't keep me from sleeping but if you're sensitive to noise I suggest you request a room on a higher level.
Don't expect a huge gym if that's what you're looking for. They do have machines and stuff that work but that look a bit old.
Other than that I had a good stay at a good price and location was very handy!

Le Westin was so new that it didn't appear in our guidebook published in 2011. Indeed it felt like a soft opening, in that things felt a bit unfinished.
There was nothing overtly lacking. Our room was comfortable and spacious (we upgraded to the deluxe). There was complimentary wi-fi, multiple outlets at the desk for the digitally inclined, and an alarm clock dockable with your iPhone.
The food was tasty and showcased local flavors. The house cocktails were inventive, and having fancy trail mix and cheese plate options for bar snacks had us munching away.
No doubt, the service was friendly, attentive. Everyone from the desk staff to the valet to the maid seemed genuinely interested in making our stay a comfortable one.
It was just every now and then, there were little holes in the ambiance. A lobby corner could have used a flower arrangement. A wall was begging for art. The late night room service menu could have used some hot food options.
Location was great in the heart of Old Montreal. We were blocks from Notre Dame and the Old Port. Downtown shopping and the gay district were 15 minute walks each.

We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Zero 1 very much. The location makes it easy to explore Old Montreal, the Old Port, Chinatown, etc. on foot. The hotel seems quite new, and while its nightclub/industrial aesthetic isn't my favorite, it was perfectly clean, the bathroom seemed brand new, the linens were much better than you might expect at this price point, and the bed was wonderfully comfy. A huge plus for us was the fact that our room (and every room, from what we could tell) had its own high speed WiFi hot spot. We really appreciated not having to wander about in search of decent WiFi reception. All in all, a real winner!

Le Meridien Versailles is conveniently located just outside of the heart of downtown Montreal - just minutes walk from bars, dining, museum of art, and other attractions. My room was clean and spacious, but other people traveling with me had a different room which they described as small and cramped - so apparently standard rooms can vary considerably. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall, the room wasn't any place I'd want to spend a significant amount of time in (other than sleeping), but the price with the location made this a very good place to stay and somewhere I would stay again.

New Year's Eve trip to Montreal
-
BobbyMoseNewYorican
- Jan 2, 2012
Nice hotel - not too far from Metro station - and bus stop right in front. We checked in and shot right away into Montreal down town via the Metro, a 10-13 min walk all down hill next to Olympic Park. We had earlier purchased a 24hr Metro pass for $8 and got on and off at several spots. We attended the outdoor festivities for New Years, an incredible experience. We took a bus back which let us off right at the hotel (#364) as the Metro shut down at 12:30 am. The room was excellent and so clean. The beds were firm but comfortable. Only two gripes - the room temp was too high - I couldn't figure out how to control it, and complimentary breakfast is too short, especially on the day after New Year's Eve, when most guests arrive back at the hotel around 2-3am. The breakfast period is 8-10am. It should go to at least 11:00 or 11:30. Otherwise excellent hotel choice for visitors.

during rush hour it is difficult to get in the front drive. Valet is necessary and $30 plus tax and fees per night, but they were prompt and cooperative, even though the front was sometimes crowded. I tipped $5 each time I used valet, but I used a taxi a few times. Concierge was very helpful. Rooms were modern and quite comfortable. For some reason I did not get a top sheet, though. Uncomfortable sleeping with the comforter (too hot) or without anything (too cold). I noticed later I could have pulled the stuffing out of the Duvet and it would have been a kind of double sheet. I should have called the front desk and requested an extra flat. Restaurant was good, but like everything else expensive. Service was always wonderful, even for this southern US, English speaking group.

It hard to do,"Compared to What?"
-
Gabri
- Feb 1, 2012
So far it has been very good, there are cultural differences, which I trying to learn, I use Australian 3 Star Hotels as a base line, on the other hand the Italian ones come in too-many variations, all in all, the price could be lower, or there could be courtesy bus service to the city if one would like to go (Thrown it with the room price). All said and done, I'll would reuse the hotel as a base. gp

Actually didn't end up staying at the hotel. We got in hours earlier than expected, way before check in time. We asked if we could check in early but the room wasn't available. We were exhausted from the drive and ended up sleeping in the car for a while before someone from the hotel came out and told us they had gotten us a room at their sister hotel, Hotel Elegant, a block away, and that it was ready now, at no extra charge. Absolutely amazing and unexpected.
