My wife and I stayed here for two nights during a quick visit to Toronto to see some friends. I was very pleased to have easy access parking provided by the hotel. It was an extra fee, but well worth it. I just parked the car and was able to walk everywhere. This is a great location for people traveling on foot - there are shopping, food, the Village, the subway, money exchange stores, and cafes all to be had within walking distance. The hotel staff was very courteous. My room was surprisingly large - I had two double beds with enough floor space left to equal another double bed or more. I didn't expect that when I booked it.

The location was amazing. We were greeted by very friendly staff. The parking lot is convenient and can be accessed from the hotel. The suite was good size. We really liked the fact that the bedroom was separated from the living room. Breakfast ambiance was good. There were 2 harpists playing and they were amazing. Coffee and rest of breakfast itself was average. The waitresses were not the most friendly people... Overall, we would recommend it and will definetely stay here next time!

Nice weekend

  • Testguy
  • Aug 27, 2012
The hotel was easy to find and was off the beaten path which we liked. Only 1/2 hour walk to get basically everywhere downtown. ( subway station is just around the corner ) Our standard room was ok, a bit basic, but the bathroom was excellent, all new and great shower. Breakfast was included however it was more of a continental one with cereals, cooked eggs and bread/waffles. Nothing fancy, but nice and clean breakfast room. Staff was friendly and helpful, parking on site, overall very happy with the hotel. Will stay again there if we come back to Toronto.

Location was key!

  • Lynzee
  • Apr 3, 2012
Location was perfect! I would have liked to known more about the building and the neighborhood. It was once owned by Hemingway but that is all the front desk guy knew about it. The breakfast was good, no fresh fruit though. The rooms were clean but run down. Overall it was a great place to stay for the money. Its a three star hotel, in an older converted home, so don't expect the Hilton and you will enjoy your stay. Our room had a walk in closet which made all the difference in the world when it came to comfort.

Very nice stay, staff goes out of their way to be helpful and accommodating. The breakfast buffet is killer! The rooms are very quiet as we there on a holiday weekend but didnt hear any of the commotion on our floor. The pool area lacks in cleanliness and the pix on the website must have been taken several years ago. It was within walking distance to shopping and parks and we never felt ill-at-ease walking the streets even late at night. Church/Wellsely neighborhood is kickin'! Many small ethnic eateries close by. Very diverse culture in Toronto.

This hotel was suggested to us by friends in Toronto. The location was great and even a parking lot was provided for short time parking beside the hotel so our friends could park and collect us from the hotel. The amenities were great and we made full use of the swimming pool and the roof top spa pools. Rooms were very comfortable with plenty of space and all amenities we required. Breakfast was superb and our friends often joined us at breakfast. They decided to return for breakfasts here after we left as it was so good. A great hotel to stay at and the price is so reasonable. I have told all our Canadian friends to book when they are in Toronto.

good price, with some compromises

The walls are thin. Music from outside (a block away) made it hard to sleep. Bathroom sink is big enough just for washing 1 hand at a time. Very cramped. Excellent amenities. Clean. Service desk had "Back in 15 min" sign up for over 1 hour, without returning to the desk. But, they do respond to questions via email. Good price... but with compromises.

great place if not staying in room all day

  • armand the travler
  • Nov 19, 2012
I found that the room was exactly what I needed for not having to stay in the room all day. It was small and one floor below street level but very comfy when I needed to sleep. It would have been depresive if it had rained and if I needed to stay in for the day. The bathroom shower water did not have a very hard spry of water so no massage. Otherwise I will stay there everytime I need to be in Toronto because location is perfect.

Nice, clean and simple hotel, with all the basics. It's located in Toronto Village, which has lots of nice cafes and bars, and is also close to the subway (about 5 minutes walk). The rooms are on the small side, but still big enough. My only complaint is that the stuff could smile a bit more :)

Great weekend getaway

  • Michigan couple
  • Aug 27, 2012
We had a king size bed on the 6th floor...very clean, and quiet. Check-in was extremely busy (Friday). Check-out was quick. Great location,we walked everywhere. Parked in the public lot next door that charged less than the valet parking at the hotel.

Very fine room.

  • John from Washington DC
  • Jul 2, 2012
I gulped when I was told my room was on the first floor. What that meant, however, was something like a beautifully set-up slightly bigger than usual room facing a, sort of, Japanese garden with trimmed trees and bushes right outside. Very fine small landscape outside, and yes that nice room. Bathroom small but perfect. Front desk and lobby raised so-so expectations. This is not a real service hotel -- and the staff by no means salutes or snaps to attention when you stand there with a question (well, one young guy did, but the others were half inattentive) but then again it is four-star not five, and they did the job okay. Restaurant seemed adequate but -- right next to the front door in the entry and entirely wide-open to the lobby -- more for breakfast or quick lunch than for serious dining. (For a pricey but very fine grown-up dinner -- no waiters named Todd with fresh pepper -try OPUS not far off.) A very happy stay at the Bloor Marriott -- but yes four stars not five-star grace notes. For my needs just fine. I will be back.

We had a good experience at the hotel. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. The only thing that was the issue is that we booked for a king sized bed, but they didn't have any available at the time of my check-in. They said their excuse was that they were sold out for the weekend, but I was still disappointed we had to have a queen sized bed instead for the same price as the king sized.

Hotel was in a prime location. One of the best features was the current promotion via online website that gave us free Valet parking. We ended up saving about 450$ just on parking for the time we stayed there because of the promotion. We were sad to hear that breakfast was not included. As it use to be back in the day. And we were paying a fairly pricey rate for the room.

Good room at an unbeatable price for Toronto

  • Spiff79
  • Jun 18, 2012
The room was clean, comfortable and very charming. The hotel is located in a nice neighborhood, steps away from trendy Bloor street and Spadina metro station. The hotel is indeed next to a drinking place popular with students, but the noise during the night was quite low - not unlike a next door neighbour. There was no parking when we got there so we had to park in a nearby municipal parking lot at ~20$ / night. Staff was courteous and professional. Next time we're in Toronto, we'll be staying there again.

Disapointing for a Four Seasons

  • asdgasdgs

Location was fantastic. Just very disappointed with the hotel itself. Not to sound "snooty", but rooms, elevators, etc. were similar to a holiday inn. Just not at all what we expected from a four seasons. This was to be a special trip and is why we splurged for the four seasons. Wouldn't stay there again for how much it was to stay and to eat lunch ($80, no alcohol). Maybe for half.

This hotel is probably the best that I have ever stayed at so far. The room was impeccable as was the service. We were personally escorted up to the room by the front desk receptionist who proceeded to explain all the amenities in the room.Very high tech and push button everything! The service was great as well.I recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a bit of luxury and can afford the price. Would definitely stay again if the opportunity arose!!
