We were in the area mainly to see a play at the 1000 Island Playhouse. The room was clean and adequate. The continental breakfast was exactly what you would expect. Air conditioner could have been a little quieter. The hotel staff was very helpful with info about the area.Casino is not within walking distance, you have to cross two major roadways,without pathways, to get there.

It was a wonderful, romantic, refreshing time away. The staff was courteous and friendly, the waitress at the on site restaurant was very helpful, and the food was delicious.

The hotel was older and the decorating was a little out of date, but we were just passing thru and there for one night. For this the hotel was fine; clean, convenient, reasonable, full breakfast. There was not a lot of restaurants without driving into Kingston.

We stayed at this hotel for one night, and were very satisfied with the hotel. The staff was very helpful with our inquiries about laundry, dining and the thousand island boat ride. There's an inside pool we didn't have the time to use, and each room has a nice porch, although the freezing cold prevented us from even going out to it. Breakfast, served at the nearby steakhouse, was one of the best we had on our entire trip!

Bad value for money

The overall experience was basic and bad value for money. The room although clean was small. When asked the reception staff for extra cot, there wasn't one available and when asked for towels and toiletries the answer was they were not sure if there were any (the hotel was full and not well equiped to cope with extra guests). The breakfast was not satisfactory, dinning room was small and crowded, one waitress serving, lack of food and drink, lack of tables and food served in plastic and paper cutlery/plates. The swimming pool was small and crowded. The hotel WAS NOT VALUE FOR MONEY at all. In comparison, I stayed with my family on Sunday and Monday night in one of the best hotels in Niagara in a suite overlooking the falls and including a hot buffet breakfast and a manager's reception (snaks and drinks). I would not recommend the hotel because it is not worth the amount of money/rate I paid for to stay there.

Best value in Gananoque, for the amount involved. We try to keep below $100 and this is the first motel in Gananoque that was above average for the money. We stop in Gananoque on our way from seeing our children and grandchildren in Connecticut as it makes a nice stop before we take the rest of our trip home. We love to dine at Anthony's; a superb place for roast beef.

We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go. We walked down the waterfront trail to the boat tours, and to the casino, as well. There were many locations to eat, including the hotel restaurant. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for clean and comfortable accommodations.

A Quiet week for two.

A perfect place to get away-located in the heart of all the activity in Ganonaque. Only a block from the River, boat tours, and beautiful parks. A short distance to downtown and great little shops. Not far from the casino. A wonderful theater is very near by and we saw a great show, "Lend me A Tenor" , a hilarious comedy.

I was a bit disappointed by this hotel. They advertise amenities like microwave in the rooms, iron & board in the room, heated pool - none of which we had. Granted - there was a pool, but it wasn't open when we went at the end of May, and it was in the 80s so we were really looking forward to a swim. We didn't ask for an iron or board, so I don't know if they could have provided one on request. The rooms were clean; there were no odors or stains, and all the fixtures/appliances there did work (fridge, air conditioner, coffee maker). One nice feature is that there is a front AND back door to the rooms, allowing a nice cross-breeze if you open them both up for a while. The staff were courteous. The dining facilities are a few simple cafe tables in the reception area where you can sit for a coffee or pre-packaged foods for breakfast. There is no dining room or kitchen service at the hotel. It was adequate as a place to crash at the end of a busy day, but it's definitely NOT a destination in and of itself if you're looking for a home away from home.

Right entry point to the 1000 Islands

Gananoque is the good starting point for the Gananoque Boat Tour for the St. Lawrence Seaway. The 2 and half hours cruise offers spectacular views of the 1000 Islands. Nevertheless, the Imperial Inn is disappointing. There is practically no guest except us (and we pre-booked!) The room is small with a musty smell. There was no room service the next day after our first night stay. Even the ice machine was out of order. We had to prepare our own ice using the ice cube tray in the room fridge. Wonder how it got a 3 star rating at the [...]site!
