The Hyatt is fantastically located in the center of downtown with easy assess to and from the main freeways and airport. The staff were very helpful and kind with plenty of directions. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we all know how important that is. Their dinning facility was nice but breakfast was a little pricey. Overall I'd stay there again and again.

Good hotel but be prepared!
-
ChristieAnne
- Mar 12, 2012
I recently stayed here on a business trip. I read the previous reviews so I was aware that may be some noise issues. I was not right next to the elevators, but was not that far. However, I was there the night of a hockey game - which is cool, because it is right next to the hotel! It is an extremely lively area before hockey games and literally EVERY person at the hotel is there for a game! So, you can imagine it is a little rowdy. I could hear constant conversations on the night of the game, including lots of screaming and cheering fans through the night until about midnight. That being said, I would definitely stay here again! Although the noise did live up to all of the reviews' warnings, the hotel location made up for it. I walked everywhere, including two different SkyTrain stations. The lobby of the hotel was recently redone and looks nice, with crystal chandeliers and a nice seating area. The area is also extremely safe, a concern of mine since I was traveling alone. Also, Moxie's, which is in the lobby, is fun during the hockey games to grab a beer and people watch!

The hotel is very well located in central Vancouver, about four blocks from Vancouver City Centre Skytrain, direct on the Canda Line from YVR. The staff were very courteous and the room was good value. The place was a bit dingy and the room quite small. Some extra lighting in the room would not go amiss.

Convenient location for business downtown. Breakfast/lunch restaurant on-site, and excellent Smitty's Public House nextdoor for dinner. Many others nearby. Parking and/or valet fees are not mentioned in the hotel description online, and should be. Strong mildew smell in room. Easy to fix that by giving a once-weekly spraying of carpet and bathroom tiles with anti-mildew spray, and putting a few drops of Clorox in the drains so that the Clorox can sit in the P traps until the next use. Problem solved.

Beware the conjoining rooms!
-
Topher2
- Feb 20, 2012
This hotel was perfect, minus two major flaws. If you are in a conjoining room, be prepared to hear everything your neighbor says and does with perfect clarity. Bring your sleeping pills and earplugs. Then, if you like to be on the internet in your room, be prepared to pay a ridiculous rate, it is not free. You will be gouged as well if you snack from the honor bar or order room service. I could have had gone out twice to a really nice restaurant for what I paid in one room service charge, thus the "average" rating on the value scale. Other than that it is a very beautiful and comfortable hotel.

Great helpful staff. Perfect location. A little disappointed in the in-room dining as we called down for service and were told that it would be a 90-minute wait. We decided to go to the bar in person and order and attempted to carry it back to our room when we were told we'd have to be escorted thru the public areas of the hotel.

The hotel is in a good location with access to plenty of eating places, night clubs/bars, buses and trains. The room was clean, with a nice TV and cable. Expresso machine was free in the room along with free bottled water. The hotel is going for a chic vibe with a nice garden courtyard and room decor. Although, the rooms are basic, they are nice and clean upon arrival. I felt safe in the area while out walking; staff was nice and friendly. I had difficulties connecting to the internet, but that may have been my laptop. I would stay at the Burrard again without doubt. The few dings I would give the hotel is that there wasn't an aircondition in the room and I am not too sure if the heat work (didn't need it). No pool or hot tub.
I usually stay at a worldwide brand hotel, but chose to stay here because of the location and I was not upset with the choice.

The hotel was in the best location as it was only a short walk from all of the bars and plenty of restaurants downtown. The staff was friendly and helpful and the room was very clean. The only concern was the parking. The parking lot is fairly small so if they have too many guests with cars, they have to move it to another lot which is further from the hotel.

I Have stayed at this hotel on multiple occasions and it is in a perfect location; walking distance to downtown and stanley park. Views of Coal Harbour are great so make sure to get one unless you rather face downtown.
My Wife and I went to Cin Cin for dinner and it is great (make reservation). We rented bikes right next to the hotel and took a ride around stanley park along the seawall. Then of to a Canucks (NHL) game. Overall Vancouver is a great city to just relax and get away.

The location is near Granville Island so it is a long way to walk if you are going to the Waterfront VCC. Take the bus for $2.50. Walking maps are provided and a bus stop is just to the right as you are leaving the front doors. The hotel refused to offer professional membership discounts if not booked directly through them. This is a bit more run down section of town and there is more noise. For security, room keys have to be used for the elevators. I was surprised to be asked for a credit card hold or $200.00 cash for "incidentals". This concerned me because the bathroom floor tiles were already loose from there not being an adequate shower/tub curtain. I had to ask to have the drain unclogged the first day and then the tub seal wouldn't hold water well after that. Internet use is by login/pswd which can be obtained at the front desk but sometimes connections are intermittent.

My wife and I spent two nights here while visiting Vancouver for the first time. The hotel was very nice and the room worked well for us. It's a short walk to the water front and a short walk to Stanley Park.
We ended up spending more time at Granville Market and down in Gas Town. Both of these places are a bit of a walk from this hotel (15 min to Gas Town and 30 min to Granville).
However, this hotel is located right on Robson St, so there were lots of places to eat and shop just a few steps from the hotel.
The restaurant right in the hotel was very nice ad worth a visit.

The Listel hotel would be hard to beat for the price. The location was nice since it was right on Robson which is a major street (safe) with a lot of trendy shops. The hotel is also relatively centrally located in relation to a number of attractions with Stanley park, the convention center, bars/clubs, good restaurants, etc...
Everything was clean, the staff were nice / helpful, there was some character to the building.
If I go back to Vancouver, I would probably stay at the Listel again.

This was an acceptable place to stay for a cheaper option than other hotels in the downtown area. It's still not too far from the center. You can take bus 19, which stops right in front of the hotel, to get to downtown, or walk a mile and take the SkyTrain. Not far from Chinatown, and close to several Asian restaurants and markets. The staff were helpful. I had a problem with some annoyingly intermittent noise coming from the bathroom of my room, like the sound of a drill. I was told it was the pipes, which means they knew about the problem beforehand. So, I wasn't thrilled about them assigning me that room in the first place. Nevertheless, they moved me to another room after a few nights when I couldn't take it anymore. The free wifi was nice, but I got weak signals at times from the room, and it was annoying having to reenter the password every time. Breakfast was acceptable, nothing fancy, but at least it was included.

This place is nothing extravagant, but for the price I paid it was an excellent value and in a perfect location downtown Vancouver - walking distance to Gastown, convention center, etc. Staff was always friendly and helpful, the place is clean with a historic feeling. I would definitely stay here again, particularly at the price I paid (~$135 US with taxes and everything).

The best word to describe this hotel is urban chic. The hotel is very old, but has been restored and remodeled very nicely. The rooms were small, but everything was clean. The location of the hotel is ideal. This is the perfect place if you are traveling on a budget. The Wifi was very slow and there was no ethernet connection in the rooms, but the hotel provides a business center with free internet and free printing. Also, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will definitely stay here again.

Took the train from the airport to downtown and walked 4 blocks to the hotel. Went to the Capilano Bridge, and toured Stanley Park. Also walked through the Gaslight district!

Nice botique hotel

The staff was exceptional. The concierge, Nathalie, was the best! She really helped with organizing our week long trip, took care of dinner reservations, etc. The hotel restaurant named Diva was a pleasant surprise for both breakfast and a late dinner. The room was clean and well maintained. The only two negative comments were that the soft goods in the room, bath sheets, towels, bath mat, etc, were a bit worn and frayed. Second, the televsion system/tv were out of date and had limited selections. Overall, great location, exceptional staff, and well worth the price on Orbitz.

I really liked this hotel. Staff are great and rooms, while tiny, are adequate. Breakfast is included and will keep you going for a while.
I was given early check in on request and was also given a room with a harbor view.
The hotel was really well located- an easy walk to shops, Canada Place, Gastown. Make sure you go to La Tacqueria which is just around the corner- best tacos ever. Bangtown Hair Salon across the road is a great place for a haircut, too. You might see some people seeking shelter at a nearby Salvos, but they are not in-your-face panhandler types. Give them a smile and make their day!
Excellent value, thanks Ramada for a really enjoyable stay in your beautiful city!
