Great Location, Overall Good Hotel

  • A Canuck in the City
  • Jan 3, 2012
Our stay was just after Christmas and was a very pleasant stay overall. While the staff were nice and mostly professional, it was not to the same quality as other Fairmont hotels. Several examples that were notable were in the restaurants when the server would clear plates of those of us who had finished even though one was still eating. This left the one person still eating feeling singled out and rushed. Plates should only be cleared once all dinner guests have finished eating. Other than that, the dining experience was good. The cuisine was varied and quite tasty, with each meal a great melody of flavors. It is pricey though, even by NYC standards. The rooms were clean and comfortable in size and the view overlooking the lake and the Victoria Glacier was beautiful. Given the chance, I would recommend the lake and mountain view to everyone. It's a constant reminder of how wonderful Lake Louise is. The Concierge was very helpful in organizing activities for us including dog sledding along the Great Divide. That was a wonderful experieince! There is no shortage of activites here. From snowboarding or skiing on over 600 runs just minutes from the hotel to hiking along or across the lake, ice climbing on the nearby ice falls, sleigh rides, ice skating and more. We look forward to coming again.

A beautiful location.

when i arrived and was given my room, I was very dissappointed with the standard of the room. I would not have booked this room if i had known about the standard of it. After a call to the front desk i was moved and have to say how impressed i was with my upgraded room. Need to check standard of room before booking...very low for the economy room, nothing like depiceted on the add.

Beautiful setting

My husband and I stayed at the Post Hotel in Lake Louise and absolutely fell in love with the place. It is set along a little brook, with beautiful red cottages dotting the premises. Our room had a balcony overlooking the brook. Our room was spacious, clean and had every amenity you would need for a wonderful stay. The restaurant was superb in its selections, with a nice selection of scrumptious entrees to choose from. If I were to go back to Lake Louise, this is where I would stay again.

Elegant old world charm. Family friendly and perfect location

  • Geetika
  • Sep 23, 2008
Pefect for that old world typically 'english' experience complete with an english afternoon tea served in a tea pot. They have a lounge room with a live fire and piano. Picture pefect location and walking distant to lake louise. Food can be slightly pricy but if you have a car, the shopping centre is nearby and the town has a number of eating places(within 3 miles).

Old fashioned structure very well positioned. this hotel has lots of charm

  • Luigi
  • Aug 20, 2008
Old fashioned structure very well positioned. this hotel has lots of charm and an old world feeling. Rooms are a bit on the small side, but the charm and nice dining options make up for some missing creature comfort newer hotels may have. Optimal location, next door to the much more acclaimed and expensive Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Definitely would like to stay there again on my next visit to Lake Louise.
