This hotel was a great value for the money! Located in the heart of downtown, on a cool autumn day I didn't even need to put a jacket on to enjoy shopping in the core, as it's conveniently connected to the pedway system. The room was excellent, large, clean, and quiet. I happened to arrive at a particularly busy time, but the staff expediciously handled all the guests checking in in a timely manner. Recommend!!!

In Edmonton for a family wedding, reception was at the Shaw Conference Centre.
Loved the location and the staff bent over backwards to make my stay wonderful!
Especially great was the 24 hour whirlpool that we rested our danced out legs in at three o'clock in the morning!!
Car aerial stolen while parked in parkade, suggest storing non -roof mounted in car while parked there!

This hotel was very convenient for events I attended at the Shaw Convention Centre (next door) and other downtown hotels. It's walking distance to a shopping mall, restaurants, and a nice grocery store. The Front Desk staff was polite and helpful and the room was clean and offered everything a person needs (including mini-refrigerator). The breakfast buffet is OK but the staff was slow with coffee, individual orders, and the bill.

The hotel room was good and had everything we expected. The irritant was that the hotel room was advertised at CAD 100 per day but when we reached there late at night we were informed that the room cost did not include parking. I was charged CAD 22 per day for the parking. This increased my overall cost at the hotel unexpectedly by 20%. I advise the hotel to be transparent in its room pricing so that customers have a satisfying experience.

Eventhough our stay was only for a night, it was satisfying and hassle free.The room was a standard sized,neatly maintained with a well stocked washroom.Plenty of garbage cans at the right spots.
The breakfast was excellent and served in the spacious restaurant.A good varity of items such as pancakes,scambled eggs,hashbrown,cakes,muffins and hot coffee served at the table which unique to us.

Everything was just average with a distinct lack of amenities. Instead of the personal touch it had vending machines which lacked necessary items needed. The service from the front dest staff ranged from good to bad; inconsistent and frustrating.

One of my faves, unfortunately after 9 hours of driving the Botanica night staff were adrift in a sea of incompetency. After a 20 minute wait with our menus and having poured ourselves our own water as I was having a coughing jag, we left the half dozen or so other customers and went to Esmeraldas! The waitress, [...]served us immediately even though she had quite a few customers in the bar! The food arrived promptly and she was extremely solicitous!Maybe she should have given the restaurant staff a few pointers!Anyhow, SHE saved the day and a big thanks go out to her...otherwise everything was great. We did the complementary buffet the 2 mornings we stayed and morning staff at the Botanica were much more on the ball!

Hotel accomodations were great. The front staff was helpful and courteous. Room was very nice and bathroom was clean. The only complaint was guest next door had small dog, which person left early in morning, leaving dog in bathroom. We are awakened 5:00 a.m. by dog barking and whining. Owner was obviously not worried enough to leave a dog alone, but didn't consider guests next door. Hotel manager did knock on door and try to contact guest but not available. Would recommend to hotel not to allow dogs if guest is not with pet at all times. Also, manager needs to patrol hallways in evening as there were a bunch of kids at hotel and they were running up and down hallway with there voices raised. I had to once tell kids to keep it down, as it was 9:00 p.m. Overall, enjoyed the stay. Food was excellent in the cafe and the pub was also enjoyable. Very helpful staff and would recommend stay for friends and will book again at this hotel.

We have stayed at this hotel a few times now and we love the location..it is easy to get to and many ammenities are within walking distance. The front desk staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Definitely recommend it!

I have stayed in this hotel 4 times now and will stay again. I like it a lot.
Great location for a Canada Day visit as the riverbank is within walking distance for joining in the celebrations.
Rooms at the front of the hotel look out over main road and the train yard. Trains are shunted all night which is good if you like trains, not so good if you want quiet. Rooms at the back are quieter but the view is of an alley where the only action is the odd tramp searching through the trash for treasure. I prefer the trains to the tramps.
The night life on Whyte Avenue is 2 blocks away, easily walkable.
Breakfast is complimentary, no other meal service is available within the hotel but there are plenty of options locally including 24 hour drive-ins.

I was pleased with my stay at this Sandman Signature. Nicely renovated rooms, great amenities including two very good restaurants, fitness facility and pool. Service was great, the front desk staff was friendly and accommodating. The location is far to the south of Edmonton, great for airport access and easy to get to on the Anthony Henday or Calgary Trail, and there are tons of amenities near by, but a 30 or so minute drive from downtown if you need to be downtown. I will stay here again.

The carpet is not vacuumed daily. No replenishment of basic toiletries like shampoo and bath soap. Can not understnad written english request like two more extra bath towels instead the housekeeping only left us with one bath towels no face or wash towels.
The stairs and the corridors are not well lighted and the corridors smelled like an old building. Management has to do something about cleanliness and odor of the inside of the hotel if they wnat more business.

Buyer Beware Much Worse than Advertised!

This hotel is old, run down and filthy. After checking in and looking at our room we promptly cancelled yet they have still penalized us a nights stay!!!!!!!!!!
You must have very low standards to find this place acceptable.
This hotel is not as advertized. Even the lobby furniture is faded and worn. Our room was worse with old, worn, faded, dirty furniture, carpet and bedding's. The room stunk and had an overwhelming amount of deodorant in use. It was clear that without an immediate overhaul, this hotel could not achieve its advertized status.
Hotel policies are unbelievable. We didn't even carry our luggage in and yet they are still not refunding our money as we booked on line. Neighboring hotels are in the same price range but are as advertised.

BEST Hotel in Edmonton

I often travel to Edmonton and i have stayed in all types of hotels, from best westerns to Fairmont Hotel MacDonald, and this hotel is by far the best. Sure it does not have in room jacuzzi tubs but neither does the Hotel MacDonald. This new hotel exceeded all expectations of a 3 star hotel (as they are currently rated). The Staff in the hotel are amazing- They follow up and follow through on all request, and goes out of the way to ensure customer comfort. The hotel is well located and is close to many amenities and tourist sites. WIll definitely recommend and will return to this hotel.

The place was OK at best, I stayed 8 nights and wanted to spend the last night closer to the airport in another super 8, but they were completely non cooperative. Since they wouldn't work with me I will never stay there again, nor will I recommend them.

Our cleaning staff was fantastic, and the rooms were very clean. The pool area was one of the most beautiful I have seen in a long time. the hotel was very close to some major attractions in Edmonton. The check-in staff was great and helped us out with directions.
I wish they offered 2 queen sized beds instead of just 2 double and it would have been nice if the rooms were a little bigger, and bighter. But we really enjoyed our stay and would definately stay there again.

Nice hotel for the money. Average in most ways for any super 8. Quiet, and beds were comfy. Breakfast buffet was one of the least selectable of any hotel I've ever stayed in. But it got you on your way. Best thing about this place is its location. Close to 10 to 15 different types of places to eat within a 2-3 block radius with a nice mixture of fast food with more in the nice sit down category. Hot tub is more like a warm tub.

We had some trouble with our baggage (thanks Air Canada) and initially the front desk refused accepting the baggage because they didn't look deep enough into their guest list. The room was booked on my name, the luggage under my husband's name. I received a warm apology from the front desk when Air Canada alerted me to the refusal. Stuff happens sometimes. Room very nice, bedding fantastic. We didn't have time to eat at the hotel, it was just a night over.

Outstanding front desk service and OUTSTANDING wait staff at the restaurant. However, the pet room we were in smelled like dogs had peed - and our dog smelled it all over the room...like most pet rooms, it has carpets instead of tile! Makes no sense. Next to noisy back door and neighboring room had left their dog alone so it scratched and cried half the night. But - great room service, front desk and the restaurant had good fast food and excellent wait staff who remembered us each time. Would probably go back for the price.

both business and personal. Easy to get downtown from hotel without getting lost.... upon return, did get lost.... great location to get to West Edmonton Mall. Noticed that painting chipping in the shower, would need a fresh coat of paiting that wouldn't peel i.e. special paint for bathrooms so that it will last longer than regular paint and wouldn't have to paint as often. Still enjoyed my shower, didn't want to get out - nice and warm.... other than that, I would say it's a great hotel to stay and relax....

we went to shop!!! very close to west ed mall.
The hotel staff was amazing. I told them the pool was super cold and they had someone look into it right away. I won't recommend the hotel restaurant, expensive for what you get and the staff was horrible, but the hotel was so great it made up for it!!
