Great Location

  • starbuck48
  • Sep 9, 2012
The location and indoor parking made this hotel a good experience for us. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only negative was the noise from outside - we did have our window/door open since it was a bit warm in the room. It was a holiday weekend so the noise was not unexpected, the train that rumbles thru town it also really noisy but that cannot be helped. The hotel is not airconditioned, but a small fan was provided.

Great location at Great Price

  • Worldwide Traveler Ernie

Loved the hotel's location and the free breakfast each morning. Within easy walking distance to all the shops. No charge for parking was a bonus. Only downside which is likely typical of most hotels in Banff was lack of air conditioning. This could be an issue for people who real like to keep the room ultra cool.

This place has really good decor. And well appointed suites. Although I cant say the same as their rooms. Which look out inside the complex rather than out on the street or the view. I upgraded to the after staying one night in the room on the ground floor. Suite and was quite nice with a great view.

Delta Banff Royal Canadian Lodge

  • Couple from Dublin Ohio
  • Oct 22, 2012
We stayed for 4 days/3 nights Oct 21-24, 2012. Some construction but not noisy. The restaurant had a breakfast buffet, but we thought the prices in general were high. Many more nicer less expensive restaurants a short distance away in town. They upgraded our room to one with a fireplace and two queen beds. The room was clean and spacious. My only complaint is that the air was dry. Would definitely stay here again. Parking is $12/day but they waived this for us. Not sure if this was because we were there in the off season, but appreciated that they did that for us.

Great Place for budget Banff travel.

  • TravelinM85
  • Nov 28, 2012
Spent a weekend in October there while in the area for business. Nice place, good breakfast, friendly staff. Would stay again. close distances to good places to eat and / "downtown" Banff. Just an amazing area all around. ride the gondola, and see the observatory for sure. I had my own 4x4 vehicle so I accessed some more remote areas and was amazed by the wildlife and scenery.... If your looking for a decent drive take the yellowhead to HWY11, and head to Red Deer... the wild lands ae spell binding!

Hidden ridge was a great place to stay for our group of 7. There was enough space for all of us and the suite was comfortable. There were some stains on the carpet and some cob webs on the ceiling, but over all clean. The staff were awesome and so accommodating. The even took the time to help light the fireplace. The shuttle to downtown was very convenient. Great view. Will definitely book here again and even considering a family reunion there.

We were quite impressed. I didn't know what to expect but we really enjoyed our stay and the room was beautiful! With two queen sized beds, a 2 person jaccuzi and an empty mini fridge for our use. The room also had the standard features, ironing board, hair dryer, toiletries and instant coffee & tea. The only downside, parking at the hotel is always full so you have to park in a free public parkade about 1/2 a block away.

Brewster's Lodge is a good hotel in the heart of Banff...a block away from Banff Avenue shops and restaurants. This is significant, as parking and traffic can be problems in Banff during peak times. Parking at the hotel was convenient (although space is very tight, even for mid-size cars. Guest rooms were clean and service was good. Nothing fancy, though. Continental breakfast was adequate, but not memorable....about like a Hampton Inn.

Good value but noisy

We chose Voyager based on price and got our money's worth. It's a bit of a walk from downtown Banff (about 5 blocks) but overall a good value. Our only complaint was that a busload of Korean tourists were staying across the hall from us and made a lot of noise at night and were constantly slamming their doors.

We didn't have much time to spend at the hotel. Good location, it would have been nicer to have fridge and microwave in the room. It is not so clean to our liking. Good for the price.

Front desk staff was frindly, helpful and courteous upon check-in... but front desk staff later in evening and next morning didn't even say hello. Restaurant staff at El Toro restaurant was extremely friendly and helpful. Room was a bit small / crowded, but decently appointed and clean.

Nice and Quiet Location

  • I Fly From HI
  • Jul 5, 2012
The hotel was about average as far as they go. On the plus side, the room was clean. The hotel was one of about 30 different ones to choose from on the same street. Most, very pleasant looking from the outside. Hotel staff was friendly when you asked them questions and the price of the room was not bad with convenient (free) covered underground parking. On the minus side. Even though there was a convenient restaurant in the hotel, it was very pricy for the fare that was offered. Overall though, I would reccomend this hotel to friends and family because it was so clean and quiet and very close to most all shopping.

The focal points of our impressive lobby are the central stone and log fireplace, rustic cedar beams, unique furnishings and extensive oak woodwork throughout that radiates warmth and captures and conveys the "nature" atmosphere and characteristics of the surrounding mountains. A good choice and close to downtown

  • Apr 10, 2011
We didn't get much sleep thanks to a group of drunks making a lot of noise just down the hall from us. At 2:30 a.m. I called the front desk to complain and within 5 minutes the office knocked on the door of the culprits and asked them to tone it down;however, it was hard to go back to sleep, plus they got up early and made a lot of noise again. The room was nice and quite clean except for the pee on the toilet seat when we first arrived. There was no parking fee either like some of the hotels charge in Banff, and the hotel is located only a short couple of blocks to downtown. I think we'd stay here again.

Clean and spacious rooms. Great for skiers and all their gear. Comfortable beds. Front desk staff very friendly. The hotel doesn't really have a workout room - but there are a few pieces of exercise equipment at the end of the lobby. Restaurant looks clean and has a varied menu.

The room had a great view overlooking the city and a great mountain view. Breakfast was fantastic! The room was just a bit small but very nice comfortable beds. A nice clean hotel. The room had a huge picture window and door to a patio where there were chairs to sit and enjoy the views. Hot tub was just around the corner of our room.

Basic in Banff

  • Jul 15, 2009
The hotel was exactly what I expected-- clean and basic, and a good value for the money. Staff were very friendly. Linens could use updating (slightly worn bedspread), but I had a wonderful mountain view from my balcony. If I wanted to splurge, I'd stay at the Fairmont in Banff, but I was there to hike and had no complaint.
