Banff Hotels
Due to being close to the Rocky Mountains, Banff is known as a popular ski destination. It is also great for hiking and sightseeing, since the mountains provide a scenic backdrop for these activities. When visiting in the summer, guests can fish on one of the many lakes in the area or search for some wildlife. There are many different Banff hotels from which to choose, as the area has both ski chalets and large chain hotels.

Conventions
Banff Center is the main convention center in town, and it attracts corporate retreats from the Calgary area. The Calgary Flames hockey team is known to have had management meetings at Banff Center in the past.
Dining
Many of the hotels in Banff have restaurants within them, particularly the Fairmont Banff Springs. This luxury hotel has 12 restaurants from which to choose, allowing guests to select any style of cuisine imaginable.
Major Point of Interest
In the winter, Cascade Mountain is popular because it provides great skiing and excellent views. It is near many hotels Banff, so you do not have to drive for hours to hit the slopes. In the summer, Lake Minnewanka hosts relaxing boat tours for visitors.
Shopping
Banff does have a variety of boutique shops like Jacques Cartier, W. Thomson, and Helly Hansen in the downtown area. Several shops show the work of aboriginal artists.
Sports
Banff is not home to any professional, semi-professional, or collegiate sports teams, but it does host World Cup ski races at Mount Norquay annually.
