Don´t be intimidated about the location of this superb boutique hotel. The location lets you enjoy the true historical and cultural flare in Rio. Amenities are excellent and the staff will do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. I completely recommend this hotel.

This is an amazing choice! Must stay ... Great rooms, excelent service and accomodation. We had dinner the night of arrival and even though it was late, the staff exceed our needs!. Really pumpered!... Breakfast is served with an overview of the city...Loved it!. We stayed on business in the city... but loved to come back!.. Still have to try the Spa services... will definetly come back...

When we arrived we were told the room wasn't ready but would be in 30 minutes. 1.5 hours later we were given a room. When we arrived in the room it had not been cleaned from the previous tenant. I called the front desk and also told the maid. We finally were moved to a clean room. The hotel was nice but a little over priced.

This city center hotel close to the cathedral offers excellent value for money for business travelers or tourists exploring Rio De Janeiro. The Rio Presidente Hotel is only 500 meters from the cathedral, close to the commercial and cultural heart of the city. The nearest underground station is Carioca, with fast and reliable connections all over town and to the beaches. The hotel has spacious rooms designed in a mix of modern and colonial style, with wooden floors, cable TV and high speed internet access. The on-site restaurant serves excellent Brazilian and international food, and the terrace features a bar, pool, sauna and scenic views of Sugar Loaf Mountain and Corcovado.The hotel also offers Lobby and Reception. IMPORTANT: Children under 18 years old are required to present identification at check-in and must be accompanied by both parents, guardians, or have permission of the Juvenile Court, in case of travelling with others. For a recent trip to the US Consulate, I was a little worried when my search showed that most of the city was sold out for my travel dates. And despite some negative comments I was pleasantly surprised to find it not at all uncomfortable, Good air conditioning unit and plentiful breakfast buffet. Close to restaurants and very close to teh Consulate. However, I do know that here are better values when there are no events in the city, Based on the price I would probably not stay there again

I would rate as a two star or below. Hotel is old. Bed side lights have been removed. Only the light in center of the room. Room is smaller than Ibis at about the same price. Shower is good. Food was very good for both breakfast and diner. The fish stew was excellent. About 6 minute walk to the Carioca Metro. Getting to the Metro was safe. Streets in other directions looked a little problematic. Good local bar at corner on the square. Two theaters on the square for culture. Shopping near the Carioca. Europa restaurant on Av Chile near Carioca was good for business lunch but not much for dinner. Price was good.

the bed was hard and uncomfortable,noisy location and there was no hot water in the shower all 3 nights .the elevator is operated by a bellman,so it can be a wait

I was there on vaction doing the tourist things. It would have been nice if they had CNN in English. The best thing about this hotel was its location. I was very close to public transportation. There was also a gas station across the street to get food and drink. The price of the hotel was also fair and the staff was very helpful. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. The downtown are was very lively at night during the week however on weekends it's pretty dead.
