Was in shock to see that the price paid did not include breakfast and internet.
Overall an OK stay. Location was good with easy access to Diegem train station. Nearest supermarket is at the airport - unfortunately the train does not go there from Diegem. if you have the time you can walk the 3 km to the airport!
The weather was unexpectedly warm - 30 deg C! and in autumn! But because of that everyone seemed at a very relaxed mood. Just waiting for the weekend!

I chose this hotel because it was very close to the clinic that I was visiting for a simple procedure on my back. I was met by the shift manager or team leader and she was very very rude. The other girl at the desk apologized for her but none the less the tone was set. When I got to the room which was about 10:00pm the TV remote didn't work. I called to get another one and she said ok but no one ever came. There was only one pillow on the bed and a wanted to raise my back so I went to the front desk to ask for another pillow and the girl again asked her "manager" and she said that the hotel don't have any extra pillows. That's hard to believe for a hotel that has multiple floors and rooms. The next morning the taxi cab driver arrived and I gave him the name of the clinic but forgot the address. I asked the receptionist could she look up the address and she told me I could buy a pre-paid card and use the computer in the lobby to get on the internet. The taxi cab driver jumped in and asked her in a very strong Flemish language and she finally looked it up on her computer. The regular staff and the waiters were all nice but the shift supervisor or the women at night were very very rude.

I frequent this hotel because of it's location and room price. Last few stays have had unreliable or unavailable Internet access. This stay reinforced that trend. Wired access was down for the first few days. Wireless was weak in the room but acceptable in the lobby. Staff provided free wireless acccess codes while the wired access was unavailable.

The hotel was perfect for us. Close to the airport and very clean. The staff was helpfeul and the restaurant was a pleasant surprise. One of the best meals we had on our trip.

Minor Issue but Great Overall

The staff at this hotel was more than helpful and answered my questions before I even asked. The rooms were comfortable, clean, and modern. The only issues are the fact that there is no place close to eat around the hotel and the food served at the bar is unbelievably expensive! I also specifically chose this hotel because it had an airport shuttle however, it is not specified on travel websites that the shuttle only runs in the morning and evening. If you arrive in the afternoon you must pay 12.50 for a taxi. The indoor pool, sauna, and gym are great for working out and relaxing.

Just about everything about the Mercure was outstanding -- friendly helpful staff, sleek and modern room with comfortable bed and great buffet breakfast. We selected it for its location near the airport and the internet price and fared much better than our friends who chose the American chain nearby.
Took the free shuttle to airport in just a few minutes.

Extremely good value for the money. Excellent location across street from commuter rail station and .5 mile from Brussels' "ring" beltway. Stayed during a holiday weekend and occupancy seemed low. As a result, little competition for facilities. Parked in front of hotel to avoid 12 Euro daily parking rate(!).

There was no free shuttle from the airport which was in the description so it cost us an extra 32 Euros for a taxi. The meals were sufficient, but expensive, especially the 20 Euros each for breakfast. Not as good as we expected.
