Great place to stay with a kid.

The rooms were exceptionally large for Europe. The staff was courteous and helpful. And it was just across the square from the train station. Honestly my only issue was that the coffee at breakfast was a little burnt (The rest of the breakfast was excellent). But considering there was a really nice coffee maker in the room, it didn't matter.

Our time in Antwerp was spent experiencing most all of the cultural offerings, people, and unique city adventures. We enjoy using public transport since one can gain such a better knowledge of the local residents. With the Astrid metro station directly below the hotel and with the incredibly beautiful Centraal railroad station next door, reaching out to the experiences of the complete area was simple and uncomplicated. The hotel itself is gorgeous, from the lobby on. The staff was most helpful, although not always the most friendly. We asked for a room in a quiet area and got exactly that. If you need an iron and board you must request that. The fitness room was far more than adequate, offering many devices which are pneumatically operated. Our perception is that the location, in general, is just a bit seedy and does not always give the impression of safety at night, but the comfort and location of the hotel makes up for for more than that. We would stay there again in the snap of fingers. We hated to leave after a six night stay.

The Leopold is a bit away from the main drag but still a short walk to shopping, museums, and the train station and other transport. I think it's a good place to chill after a day of tourism or work... Oh the breakfasts are good; try to get a rate with breakfast rolled in.

Lots of sightseeing, dining, and relaxing. Karl in the cocktail lounge treated us like old friends and was most hospitable. Front desk staff very cordial and helpful.

Good Deal close to Central Station

I was in town for a business trip. This is a good, unassuming hotel in Antwerp's Diamond District. It is a 7-10 minute walk to Antwerp's central train station. Hotels on Antwerp's Astridplein will be much closer to the train station, but these hotels tend also to offer more street noise. The Astoria, on the other hand, is tucked away and is VERY quiet. On the other-other hand, the fact that's it's tucked away may make some people nervous about walking to the hotel late at night (even though the neighborhood is quite safe). Breakfast is quite sufficient; however, if you are looking for an "American Breakfast," know that there are no scrambled eggs or bacon. Via an Orbitz special offer, I paid $78 a night (incl. breakfast AND free internet) for a three night stay in early June--almost unheard of for a *** hotel in the heart of a big European city in the summer. (The posted single room rate for this hotel is €140, that is, $195 at the exchange rate during the week of my stay.) The staff was helpful and friendly. The main minus was that there was no mini-refrigerator in the room--a definite must for business travelers who like to keep drinks and snacks handy but who don't want to pay mini-bar prices. Oddly, it seemed that the closet in the room was built for and once held a mini-fridge but that it had since been removed.

Buona posizione per visitare il centro, parcheggio privato a pagamento 16 euro al giorno. stanze comode e ampio bagno ma sicuramente non paragonabile ad un 4 stelle italiano. Hotel tutto sommato da tenere in considerazione.

Great location by the train station.

If you travel into Antwerp by train and want a hotel close to the train station, this location is difficult to beat. Exit the side of the station, walk across the street and and into the hotel's lobby. The accommodations were average, but the staff was polite. The price is hard to beat in Antwerp, too!

A good bargain

The location is great. It was in an Orthodox Jewish neighborhood where there were many people out on the street even into the late night making the neighborhood feel very safe especially being so close to the train station. Other areas close to the trian were seedy and far fewer people were out late at night. There is also a subway stop on the block which is a very short ride to the old town.
The room itself was large and had a large bathroom. I had a nice view of an olf church from my window. The bed was fine and the sheets were clean. The only downside of the room was part of the carpet had a stain.
The breakfast was nothing extraordinary but it was free. The staff were all very nice and tried to be helpful.
I would definately return.

This hotel had a great location. It was right outside the Atwerp Central Station. Very friendly and helpful staff. The one thing that should have been included is breakfast. But overall it was a pretty good stay.

Good Hotel, not so good location!

Very modern, clean, stylish hotel. Our room was excellent, dual aspect, large comfortable bed. Staff very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is strangely located at the back door of a train station. Shops & restruants are about a 10 minute wall, with the main sqaure and streets about 20-25 minute walk.
The bar was closed during our stay for refurbishment.

The COCO-MAT Residence is situated in the centre of Antwerp at 250 metres from Antwerp Central Station and 200 metres from metro station Opera. The Residence offers nine splendid design-apartments. Each one of which consists of a living room, a kitchen, one or two bedrooms and a bathroom. And offers free WiFi! Each design-apartment has beautiful oak floors and is furnished with eco friendly materials and COCO-MAT furniture. And has a modern kitchen with oven, fridge, dishwasher and coffee and tea making facilities. In the living room you can relax in front of a flat screen television with cable channels and a DVD player. In the bedrooms you will find large, very comfortable COCO-MAT beds. The modern bathrooms have a bath, a shower and a toilet, and there you will also find a washing machine and dryer. At night the apartments offer a spectacular view over the nicely lit old city of Antwerp. Hotel facilities General non-smoking rooms, rooms/facilities for disabled guests, elevator, heating, allergy-free room available, sun terrace. All public and private spaces are non-smoking. Early check in was available, quick, efficient, and allowed for rest before scheduled social event in beautifully appointed room with view! Look forward to updating television. Enjoyed tea service, refrigerator access and sitting area with comfortable bed and lighting.

The staff couldn't have been nicer. The location was great, close to shopping food. Our room was big with an awesome view of the park accross the street. The room decor could use some updating, but that did not take away from this very nice hotel.

If you don't care about the distance from the Antwerp central station, which is approximately 15 to 20 mins walk, definitely worthwhile staying there.

Overall a nice hotel. It's a bit far from downtown, having a car is an advantage. The 11 EUR daily fee for the garage looked a bit steep for us so we parked on the street for free. The quad room was spacious and comfortable, with two double beds, fridge with minibar, A/C control, safe box a well-sized bathroom. The best was the breakfast: a huge selection with fresh fruits, cereals, breads, yogurths, jams (home-made?), bacon, eggs...
For us it was a good value for money. We'd stay in the Scandic again.

Good hotel, it takes some walking

Good hotel, it takes some walking to the center but that didn't bother me, would be staying there again for this price.

This 210 bedroom hotel has meeting rooms for up to 550 guests. The city is easily accessible from the hotel by public transport and by car. A tram stop is located just 50 meters from the hotel. The city-tramline operates 7 days a week 6AM - Midnight. After just 10 minutes you will arrive in the trendy part of town, Het Zuid, which is located on the river Schelde. If you choose to drive by car, parking is easy and from there you will find small streets packed with antique shops which will lead you into the medieval centre.
Sparkling like one of the Diamonds Antwerp is so famous for, the smart four-star Ramada Plaza Antwerp is conveniently located just ten minutes away from the historic city centre. Nous avions réservé deux chambres pour deux personnes. L'un d'entre elles était manifestement prévue pour une personne avec un "grand" lit pour une personne mais sûrement pas de deux personnes. Cette chambre était vraiment très exiguë.
Pour avoir séjourné dans cet hôtel à d'autres occasions (et pas via [website]), ces deux chambres étaient d'un niveau inférieur au standard de l'hôtel.

EXCELLENT hotel. Probably the best place I've stayed in. Good value, located next to the main railway station and close to the old town. The room was lovely, and even had a coffee machine! I highly recommend this hotel (and Antwerp!)

The hotel is located in the commercial heart of Antwerp, approximately 150 metres from the Central Station. It's close to the diamond jewellers, zoo and is approximately 20 minutes walk from the Grote Market.
