Good for All Inclusive
We have stayed at sevral all inclusive resorts in Cancun and Cozymel, Barcelo was much better. This was our first stay in Cabo. The actual location and layout was great. The pools are nice and big. We woke up very early each morning and put our towels in chairs under shady spots, so we were set for the rest of the day. The sand is not great, pretty corse for our young children to play in. The undertoe was so strong that we never got in past our ankles. The black flag was up everyday. We found out after we got there that this is common in Cabo. The freindliness of the staff was hit and miss. Housekeeping was fair. The food at the buffett was average, but elsewhere was pretty good. The room was nice and spacious, we stayed in a Junior Suite. Overall, it is a very good place for swimming in nice pools with an ocean view.

Set your alarm for 5 a.m. and take your towels to the lounge chairs under one of the covered areas to hold your spot for the rest of the day. This was so important for us because of our young children and the need for rest time without having to go back to the room.

fantastic vacation place
Hotel is beautiful, service fantastic, food at buffets served the same food for breakfast and lunch, but very good for dinner. The speciality restraunts were good, but the hotel was full and not all the speiciality restraunts were open every evening. I definitly would stay here again. Good value for the money.

Barcelo Los Cabos a definite...... YES!
This all-inclusive Barcelo property is truly fantastic. The accomodations, staff, and especially the food was 4-5 star quality. Our wedding party group totaled nineteen and it was unanimous. The rooms are very spacious with great ocean views. I would highly recommend this for your next vacation.

The resort has many dining options, Spanish, Japanese, Italian, French, International, Mexican and a great Steak House. You are limited to the number of visits to the premium restaurants (based on the number of nights stays) so make your reservations early.

good with some drew backs
Stayed at the hotel the entire time and relaxed, was disappointed that we could only dine at premium restaurants one time in our 3 nights there. Buffets were excellent so we managed.First room they gave us was very noise and after one night we got another room, but they tried to up grade us at a cost.

Barcelo: wonderfull hotel with very minor irritants
Room and staff were great. Great adult pool. Food was above average at the buffet but barely average at the A la carte restaurants-hit and miss. Beach was great but not swimmable. Night shows cater to whole family so it was great for kids. Having to buy your water at the gym (great space) when all-inclusive is silly. Service around the pool is good but random. Fishing trips being offered in the lobby by Cabo Aventures were disappointing but the America's Cup racing was a highlight of our trip. Instead of paying for taxis, look at using the hotel shuttle or even renting a car which would be cheaper. Going to Wabo Cabo in Cabo as a night activity is a waste of time and expensive. Overall, I would go back to the Barcelo in the near future.

1st time resort, 1st time in Mexico
Stayed 7 days, end of July. Extended family had stayed at a different Cabo resort 1 month earlier, gave us the heads up on some tips and tricks. We opted for the Club Premium upgrade, and then added the romance package through the hotel directly. Room was good but only clean-ish (check under the bed.) Bed linens felt like 200 thread count TOPS-- don't get sunburned! A/c temp only goes down to 18 C but never got colder than 24 or 25 (75-77F). Ocean view was incredible. I do recommend the romance package ([...]), but Club Premium was hit and miss. Can you tell the difference between premium liquor and wells? Would you use the sauna/steam/hot tub/spa daily? Does a long check-in line bug you? Need wi-fi for the duration of your stay? If you had to have tickets to get your pool towels every day, would you be annoyed? Do you hate buffets? If you answer a big "yes" to any of those, go with Club Premium. Otherwise, there's no bad view in the whole place, so the room upgrade might be a push. The concierge service through club premium was also hit and miss. Told us we had only 3 restaurant reservations, then when we made other plans, we found out there had been a 4th when we returned. They scheduled the special romantic dinner from the package at the wrong restaurant. Wi-fi login had to be reset (multiple sites are blocked, connection went down repeatedly as well.) When we wanted a printout of everything included with the romance package, they told us "we can just tell you whats in it." It was very difficult to keep track of all of our reservation times and package details. Print it out and bring it with you. When we did get our romantic dinner, the notes they had allegedly put with the reservation, were completely ignored by restaurant staff until we spoke up. Speaking of restaurants-- they present them as these great eateries in high demand (reservations can be hard to get, Club premium gets unlimited) but when you eat there, you wonder why, in a half empty room, it was so hard to get a reservation. Perhaps they were just making room for the celebrity couple that was dining there. On top of that, the food and the service at the "premium" a la carte restaurants is sub-par compared to the everyday open buffet. The wait staff was friendly, polite, accommodating, and the food was varied and incredible. The buffet was the best option even with unlimited room service from the romance package (super limited menu, inconsistent food quality, and they wrote down our room # wrong one morning, we called, and they blamed us saying they had delivered it and no one answered. When they did deliver, the waiter showed us the incorrect room number on the ticket). Even if you don't like buffets, have breakfast there ONCE. It'll make you a believer.Other tips- the pool rules say you can't reserve beach/pool chairs. This is more of a suggestion. If you're not putting down your towel by 7am, good luck. Best bet was get up at 6am, watch an incredible sunrise, and stake your claim. When the main and infinity pools get loud and crowded from families and activities, head over to the adult pool at mid day. Quieter, better seats, same great bar service.Transportation-Barcelo does offer a shuttle to Puerto Paraiso mall in CSL, but it only has 2 pick up and drop off times (although the brochures/printouts they give you make it sound as though it runs continuously between the times). We were told by family that cab fare into CSL is negotiable, which is true-- if you aren't staying at a resort that has a pre-negotiated fare. 2 trips to CSL by taxi (one for the highly recommended Caborey dinner cruise)got pricey. Speaking of negotiated prices and Caborey, when we got to the dinner cruise, we found out that we paid a little bit more than everyone else. Again, probably because of going through the hotel. Cab fare to airport was reasonable. [...]Spa-Club Premium gives you run of the hydrotherapy area, and the romance package included a couples massage. Even if you don'...
