Lovely hotel with lots of character and old world appearance from the outside but modern and well-appointed inside. Very comfortable beds and warm and cosy room! The hotel was a short walk from Cataract Gorge and Stillwater Restaurant and while about a 15 minute walk to the City centre it was a relatively easy walk. Highly recommend the Leisure Inn Penny Royal Hotel & Apartments and we will definitely stay here again (soon I hope!). Highly recommend Stillwater Restaurant too.

Located 500 metres walk to the centre of the city, just a minute walk to City Park. Close to new aquatic centre, Boags Brewery, Cataract Gorge, restaurants and shops.

It was only a one night stay but the hotel was comfortable and clean. The owner was friendly and most helpful. It was very covenient to the town centre and the walk back up to the hotel wasn't as bad as some had said in previous reviews. The only thing I didn't like was the window in the shower cubicle. Although the window was frosted glass, there was no blind and you felt rather xposed'. However, I would stay there again.

would highly reccommend this hotel to anyone who's visiting Launceston. Hotel has a great view of the port area and a parking lot for only 5AUD per day.
Our rooms are very neat and spacey. We had a standard river view room. They are nicely decorated with good amenities. They also have laundry room coin operated with all the way at the port area..so a little awkward to carry our laundry over esp when its raining!

If you stay in this hotel make sure you ask for a room that is not on the main street - it was very, very, very noisy. If you have young children ask for a one floor appartment. We have a 22 month old, had a stair case and hotel did not have any stair guards - dangerous.

Absolute brilliant a better option than the casino, the courtesy bus picks you up and 2 minutes your at the casino front door, and the price is 30 dollars cheaper ,for a more comfy stay, the casino is ok it's just you have to walk for ever to get to your room

Fabulous location overlooking Tamar Valley, pleasant cabins on the hillside above a vineyard. More for pleasure than business, but a really nice place to stay.
