I booked this last minute not really knowing what to expect and not knowing exactly how close it was to the water. Wow!!! The hotel is steps from the marina walkway and restaurants and trip bookings were literally at the hotel front door step. The staff were amazing, friendly and were from different parts of the world which i thought added to the charm and world experiences I was looking for. The rooms were spotless and even on days when i forgot to put a "please clean my room" card on the door, I came back to a clean and made up room. I would definitely book this hotel again if i came back to Cairns. The location and customer service was spot on. Definitely the location of this hotel gives you the sense of seeing the true waterfront area. Sipping lattes every morning while watching the sailboats in the marina was unmatched to any other hotel facing the marina for that price we paid.

We booked an oceanfront room and ended up on the 5th floor (532) with great views onto the bay. The room was comfortable enough that we caught ourselves hanging out in there a little too long when we should've been out on the verandah or strolling around town or on the esplanade. However our last night the toilet kept running so you had to unstick the mechanism and the following a.m. we had an early flight ,got up to take hot shower and there was none. Don't know what was going on with that because we had no problems the previous day. If we ever have occasion to go back I would definately stay here though.

Due to be tiled thru out the complex and the cement walls the noise echoed thru out. I found it extremely noisey. Peoples voices, toilet and showers running people dragging their bags down hallways made it almost impossible to have a peaceful nights sleep. The room did not look anything like the pictures on the internet. There was no bed coverings over the sheet and only two thin scrappy cotten things were provided for the coolness of the early mornings. If there was more than one person occupying the room there would not have been enough blankets to keep the early morning chill away.

Our flight came in at 2am, but they left us our key in a safe outside the lobby, so getting in wasn't a problem. It's a walk to get downtown, but it's nothing crazy, and the boardwalk extends that far north, so it's a quick walk to Cairns' fabulous Esplanade and then you can take that into the city.
Both times we stayed here (weekday), we got our own room which is obviously a dorm at other times, so the rooms we've stayed in have had one or two extra beds, and were therefore huge!
They seem to cater to backpackers, though, so we did have one issue with very loud guests coming into the hotel at 4am and laughing and yelling, but that comes with the territory...

We stayed at the Sebel Cairns for 8 nights, thanks to a great rate we found on hotelclub.com. Perfect home away from home. The rooms are large, roomy, clean and comfortable with a great harbour view. Valet parking is expensive at $20 per day but we just used street parking instead. Hotel is in good condition, pity we could not use the pool as it was too cold and the spa just was not heated enough. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would stay there again based on the reasonable rates, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, and the excellent location of the hotel. Thumbs up Sebel!

Basic, but everything worked and was clean and in good repair. I would suggest an upgrade of the self-catering facilities - the stove-top in my room was very old and didn't get very hot, and there were no cutting boards and no knives. Everything else was fine, and good value for the money.

Le prix payé me paraît trop élevé pour cette prestation, surtout quand on fait la comparaison avec d'autres hôtels de Cairns, qui se sont révélés être d'un standing supérieur pour un prix moindre.

Hides Hotel is an older hotel, very centrally located in Cairns C.B.D. my room with toilet and shower was average with the option of A.Con. or open windows but no view. The inclusive continental breakfast on the upstairs veranda was adequate in a pleasant setting. the price offered value for money.

This hotel is rather like the old style motels in the structure of their rooms. It is about a 10 minute walk to the city center, which makes it a handy location. The pool is on the small side but has a lovely waterfall cascading down rocks on one side. Breakfast, although basic is definitely is sufficient. Staff helpful. Would recommend this hotel as value for money.

The manager was extremely kind and helpful, and twice offered to drive us to town in bad weather, which made our rained-out stay more memorable.
The hotel is about 10-15 minutes' walk from town activities, which is not a problem if the weather is pleasant. One major plus is that this hotel offers 2 hours of free computer access.

Comfortable, quiet, good pool, not too far from town & bus stop nearby. Free breakfast, but no other meals available. Showers have poorly designed floors sloping to a nearly central waste, meaning a lot of the floor gets quite wet. Free shuttle BUT, very limited hours. Check first.

Excellent facility, but not the best neighborhood

Althogh I incorrectly booked a site for a camper, a villa was available, and I was upgraded with no problem. The facility was very beautiful and well-kept and transportation into town was easy via the city bus which ran every 30 minutes. However, I was informed not to walk about outside the facility after dark as mugging rates were the highest In the entire Cairns area. Had no problems during the day, however.

Clean hotel with lovely pool, though they could do with a shade over the pool to keep it cool, it was a bit like a warm bath. The hotel was a bit far out of town, but the cheaper price reflects that and I had a hire car, so it only took around 15 minutes to the centre of Cairns. The one annoying thing in the room I stayed in was the air conditioner must have been pretty old because it kept making a clunking sound and was pretty noisy - lucky I had ear plugs!

The room was excellent and the spa bath a perfect inclusion. (Watching tv from the midst of bubbles is a new level of luxury!) However, the bed was horrendous - I had the worst night's sleep in months. It has a soft added 'mattress' on top of the mattress which makes the bed overly soft. Most unpleasant especially if you have any back problems.

The Pullman Reef Hotel is a great value. Lovely, large room with all the amenities (A/C, robe, hair dryer, iron, quality bath products, spa tub in addition to a shower). The king bed and pillows were oh so comfortable. Best of all, the room was really quiet.
Three powerful Macs, free for guest use--no special codes and a printer for your boarding passes. The staff was unfailingly polite and helpful.
Super location: a three-minute walk from the Reef Terminal and two to three blocks from excellent restaurants for dinner and cafes for breakfast and lunch. The Casino is attached, if you want to gamble, but has a separate entrance.

First trip to Australia. Had a great time on the beach. Very relaxing and beautiful views. People very friendly. Rooms were large and within walking distance to stores and restaurants. Take the bus to Cairns for $4.80 if you want good shopping.

Located with absolute beach frontage, the units are of an older style but kept in good condition and located close to all facilities shops restaurants etc. The resort includes a well maintained swimming pool, barbeque area and tennis court. The couple that manage the units couldnt be more friendly or helpful. The room rates are also very competitive.

There is free internet but only a single computer. They do have Wifi on the hotel but you have to pay for it. The computer broke down on my last night when I needed it the most.
The location is not so good- 20 minutes walk from the center but when its raining it is not very nice.
Other then that- nice and cute hotel.

we were in Cairns for 5 days for Xmas holiday, the hotel is very nice, get a ocean view room, face to the sea and enjoy the nice breeze. the hotel staff are really friendly, and room services is quick and price is reasonable. have hotel bus to the central city every hour, if you walk, will take 30 mins to the city, but we enjoyed the quiet location.

Although some/much of the fixtures/fittings are now dated, particularly when compared with more modern/latterly built hotels, they all proved adequate. The staff, in particularly reception as we had most interaction with them, were excellent and extremely helpful/welcoming.

The hotel was centrally located and only a short walk to the Night Markets,Restaurants and shopping.I stayed using the Business Package. It included free WiFi Internet.The internet connection was disappointing and very slow.I relied on the internet to conduct research but often had to go to an internet cafe.The staff were friendly and attentive. There were few parking spaces directly relating to the hotel and vehicles had to be parked on the street.Street parking had a mix of time limited and all day parking.
