The Comfort Inn Bert Hinkler is a 4 star motel comprising 32 rooms with a mix of quality, comfortable standard, deluxe and executive rooms. All units are on the ground floor with undercover parking outside your room. The property is surrounded by tropical gardens, with approximately 1000 golden canes, pool, spa, and sauna. Austar and broadband are available in all rooms. Breakfast available at a charge. Breakfast is available seven days, either delivered to your room or in the restaurant. The fully licensed Hangar Restaurant is open Monday to Friday for dinner and can cater for up to 90 people (banquet style). On checking in we found the elderly

On checking in we found the elderly gentleman on Reception to be indifferent, curt and totally unwelcoming. The room itself was well furnished but a screen supposed to be in place to separate the bed area from the little living area had been removed and we were not warned or apologised to for this. Curtains were shabby and very marked with holes. The kitchen area was good and well equipped but kitchen was poorly supplied with coffee/tea/sugar/milk and the bathroom similarly poorly supplied with toiletries and a distinctly small amount of towels; a tiny amount of toilet paper with no spare roll. There was no daily service which was expected with this booking. The Point itself is in a good location, opposite beach; nice pool and spa - little mini golf course and also a table tennis (with no eqipment to play. I would recommend the Hotel, but with some reservation.
