My friend and I wished to go to art exhibitions mainly and Rydges was recommended by a local. We found the location splendid and we were able to walk to all three venues and were near the river which is a lovely place to walk along. We had a room with 3 beds rather than 2 but it was comfortable and pleasant with a balcony to sit out on in the morning.

We stayed here to go to a show at QPAC . We had a River View Apartment which was worth the extra money for the view . We also had breakfast included in our price which was good value . The walk across the William Jolly Bridge was easy from right outside the Park Regis and straight across to QPAC. We would recommend this accommodation and the good deal that we had with Hotel Club.

Impeccable service every time I've stayed at a Marriot, world wide. We were staying at the Brisbane Marriot for a wedding during the flood and had to be relocated to the Gold Coast; a fellow Canadian at the front desk helped us with our transport/accommodations and even looked up cheaper (alternate) hotel options on the coast for us! In the end we stayed at the Surfers Paradise Marriott despite the sharp increase in cost - simply an incredible resort, worth the cost.

Great new hotel, room was good size, flat screen TV, although I could not get the movies to work and the remote had a mind of its own even the replacement one I received. Food in restaurant was less then desirable, pizza base was store bought, Aldi's I think and it took forever. Great concept and well kept. Rooms are only cleaned every 4 days but as long as your mindful of that it works out fine.

Comfortable

  • Oct 3, 2011
I participated at a conference at the conference center - it was easy to walk to and enjoy the great restaurants, coffee shops and parks on South Bank in the mornings and evenings before and after the conference. The room was clean and newly furbished - the staff was ok but not super friendly. The one draw-back: when arriving just before lunch from 2 days plane travels - we had to wait until 2pm to get to our room - the staff did not try to speed up the cleaning - it would have been nice to get a bit more accommodation. It was nice to be able to sit on the balcony, sip the first coffee in the morning and look at the great Brisbane skyline. Price of the room was very good - for a rather expensive Australia. It would have been a nice touch if the Hotel would have offered free Internet (although paid service work fairly well) - Internet connections are very difficult to come by in Brisbane (hardly free wifi in coffee shops etc).

Rooms are very clean & of generous size, walking distance to southbank with plenty of choice for dining out. Good view of city lights & night, a bit of traffic noise as is very close to major city hospital area but really nothing to bother about. Brisbane CBD is only 15 to 20 minute walk, & the Gabba is straight down the road. Would recommend.

Excellent Hotel. Food in the dining was absolutely superb. 10 /10 Only concerns were., To make tea or coffee no facilities to put used tea bags etc but to walk to Rubbish container at other end of room. A container in the tea making area would have been great. Another would be to provide Shower Caps etc in Bathroom. A very good hotel all the same.

Front desk staff seem to have multiple tasks and it is not uncommon to see the desk unattended for short periods of time. Slightly weathered in places and the rooms are a little small compared to some hotels, but you get what you pay for. Overall, perfectly located hotel at a reasonable price with good facilities.

Being alone on this trip, I always felt safe and secure at your hotel. The staff were warm, friendly and efficient. I was very happy with the chauffeur service and will definately use this on my next stay. I ordered just one room service meal and was dissapointed with it, however the breakfast in the resturaunt was excellent. The close proximity to the cbd was great. Many thanks to Chloe, Simon and the many happy helpful staff members.
