Lovely boutique hotel in great area. Easy walk to Central Quay and transportation. Nice outside sitting area. Very loud on weekend nights though and our room was on the street level so it was very distracting. Smallest bathroom ever-sink partially blocked toilet.

Outstanding value. Reserved this hotel from a deal months prior to the trip and out of the 5 hotels we stayed in New Zealand and Australia this was the best one for the value. Great location and balcony view of the Quay. Rooms were great and plenty of room for 3 Adults and a 2.5 year old. We were on the 9th floor. The beds were very comfortable. I'm very particular with cleanliness and was worried about hotels overseas. As soon as I walked in I felt at home. The staff were great including two our concierges especially Rick. He was able to set up last minute Sydney Bridge climbs and recommends in the area. In the restaurant the staff even gave our daughter a cute little teddy bear. Room service prices are high but comparable to the high prices in Australia. When our DVD player did not work we were comp'ed breakfast for the remainder of our stay. There was a pretty substantial rain storm and our floor had some leakage. We were well informed of the situation and the floor was taken care of in a timely manner. If I'm in Sydney I'd come here again and will definitely recommend.

Have stayed here 4 times in past 5 years in both units overlooking Circular Key (and Harbour Bridge) and inside units facing Macquaries St out to Park. Very modern and comfortable units and if you pay more for the water facing units over Circular Key it is a great outlook.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay immensely. Excellent location. Walking distance to Harbor and Opera House. Loved the elegant decor throughout the hotel. The sitting room off main lobby was so homey and cozy with a lovely wood burning fire place which was lit up in the evening. The marble bathrooms were exquisite and the king size bed so comfy. The rooms were exceptionally large. Plenty or room to relax after a long day of touring. Free internet was also a big plus. If looking for a hotel to stay at in Sidney, Look no further. This is the place for you!

Very nice hotel. Great service. Excellent location for The Rocks dining. Terrific views of the harbour and rooms had plenty of space. Definitely the place to stay when in The Rocks.

great location - less than 10 minutes walk from circular quay station (where you can catch the train from the airport), very helpful and friendly staff, very clean room. excellent shower (both in terms of cleanliness and water pressure!). i rang prior to checking in and asked specifically for a balcony room and actually got one (believe me that doesn't always happen) which i very much appreciated, being a smoker. also, i unknowingly checked out late but didn't have any major hassles about it - just a quick call and no problem. anytime i go to sydney in the future i will be staying at this hotel.

One of the best hotels I have

One of the best hotels I have stayed at. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. The view of the opera house is breathtaking. The only complaint I have is the internet charge ($25/ day) which should be included in the rate for the hotel of this caliber. That said, I still highly recommend this hotel if u plan to be in sydney.

This would rank as one of the very best hotels in which we have stayed in recent years. The service was superb, maintaining an excellent standard of friendliness and a willingness to help with absolutely no suspicion of the supercillious attitudes that can sometimes be encountered at a top class establishment. The food was excellent and we loved the Orient Express dƩcor. The room was very comfortable, quiet and peaceful. The Observatory Hotel will become a regular stopping place for us on our frequent visits to Sydney.

Great boutique hotel and location

Great boutique hotel and location couldn't be better. Rooms were large and recently undergoing refurb. Don't take a room facing George Street unless you are a great sleeper because the noise is there until well into the AM hours. Good deals through Hotel Club but otherwise expensive.

Reception staff were most helpful and welcoming, the room clean and adequate. Dining room staff much less welcoming and in fact ended my experience at the hotel on a low note
