The staff at the Swissotel were exceptional, the location was perfect, I would recommend this hotel to everyone wanting to stay in Sydney. Our room was large althought the view (we were facing east towards the Sydney Tower), was probably a bit of a let down, I would not change my overall opionion of our stay.

You cannot beat the location of this hotel for being in the middle of everything Sydney. At the same time it is like a sanctuary to come home to at the end of a long day. The staff are soooooo friendly and helpful - really well trained in customer service. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. The lobby bar is also a great place to meet up with friends!

Simply the Best in Sydney

- Mar 14, 2012
Simply the best hotel we stayed in out of the seven places we stayed during our 3-week Australian holiday. Significantly better experience than we had (a week prior) at the Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel down the block, and I'd have no reservation recommending that place too...but the Westin was better. We got upgraded to their Heritage room, and the room had everything. Great fitness center. Great location. Loved this place....we'll be coming back.

Great location, as we needed to do business nearby. Only disappointment was the small bed as we are used to a king & the pillows very uncomfortable. The league club downstairs has pokies & give discounted drinks if you are staying at the hotel. Certainly would stay again, had a homely feeling.

We were upgraded to a Junior Suite which consisted of a two bedroom apartment which meant that we could walk to the supermarket and buy breakfast items and have it back at the unit. It was fantastic - only negatives was slow lifts and way too many people in the pool area - the pool is fairly small for the amount of guests. We had a fantastic time though and would certainly stay there again

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. They upgraded us to a harbor view without our asking. Our fourth floor room had an excellent view of Darling Harbor and was right over the Sydney Aquarium. The National Maritime Museum was right across the harbor and accessible by footbridge. Food was expensive in Australia.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay immensely. Excellent location. Walking distance to Harbor and Opera House. Loved the elegant decor throughout the hotel. The sitting room off main lobby was so homey and cozy with a lovely wood burning fire place which was lit up in the evening. The marble bathrooms were exquisite and the king size bed so comfy. The rooms were exceptionally large. Plenty or room to relax after a long day of touring. Free internet was also a big plus. If looking for a hotel to stay at in Sidney, Look no further. Good central location. Bus and subway nearby and run often. Plenty of places to eat in the area. Hotel's restaurant open for breakfast only; it's expensive, too. Overall, I'd say this hotel is a good value.

Travelodge Sydney is not a resort. It offers good hotels services - clean rooms, excellent staff. But it has no gym, swimming pool or onsite recreation. What it does have is a excellent location for site seeing all of Sydney at an affordable price - something that is rare in Sydney. The hotel is one block south of Hyde park and has easy access to the Hop on/Hop off bus and the Sydney rail and bus system. We used all of these and found getting around town was a breeze.
The rooms are clean and well maintained. They have sinks, refrigerators and safes - surprising at the price. The staff are very responsive and helpful. We used them for transportation questions, directions and advice on things to see. In every case they were knowledgeable and helpful.
I highly recommend this hotel to the vacationing traveler who is on a budget.

I will definitely be back again, this time in summer where I can use the pool.

This would rank as one of the very best hotels in which we have stayed in recent years. The service was superb, maintaining an excellent standard of friendliness and a willingness to help with absolutely no suspicion of the supercillious attitudes that can sometimes be encountered at a top class establishment. The food was excellent and we loved the Orient Express décor. The room was very comfortable, quiet and peaceful. The Observatory Hotel will become a regular stopping place for us on our frequent visits to Sydney.

Unexpected trip to attend a wedding

- Jan 20, 2012
We were in Sydney to attend a wedding and had vacationed there 2 prior times. We did not need to do the tourist things (had done them all before), so we were seeking a location close to restaurants and public transportation. This Marriott location served that purpose well. Because of the strong Aussie dollar hotel rates were much more expensive than our previous trips. We had no issues at the hotel. The room was comfortable, a good size and the staff was friendly and helpful.

The Hotel was lovely, the staff very friendly and the room was comfortable and cosey. I think that the only drawbacks were that there was no swimming pool and that the internet charges were UNBELIEVABLY HIGH considering that they get it free and most of the big hotels offer the internet for free to their customers.
It was a great location and very, very easy to walk absolutely everywhere. Super!!!

We found this hotel to be very comfortable, and located close to everything! We were within walking distance of the central shopping district, Chinatown, the Quay and the Royal Gardens as well as the Central station. The Hop on- Hop off bus pickup location was within 3-4 blocks.
The hotel staff was enthusiastic, knowledgable, and had good suggestions. The only negative about the hotel is that the outside sound and sound from the hall traveled into the room very clearly. Earplugs are a must if you want a good night's sleep. Beds were very comfortalbe.

great location - less than 10 minutes walk from circular quay station (where you can catch the train from the airport), very helpful and friendly staff, very clean room. excellent shower (both in terms of cleanliness and water pressure!). i rang prior to checking in and asked specifically for a balcony room and actually got one (believe me that doesn't always happen) which i very much appreciated, being a smoker. also, i unknowingly checked out late but didn't have any major hassles about it - just a quick call and no problem. anytime i go to sydney in the future i will be staying at this hotel.

The hotel room was very small, but VERY clean and comfortable. The other good thing was that you could actually set up temperature according to your liking :-)
