Great time once we finally got settled

  • 1st Time Aruba Visitor
  • May 19, 2012
We experienced difficulty checking-in. Our reservation was for my husband, myself and our daughter. When we checked in we were given a room with one king size bed. When I brought to the reservationists attention that there was three of us, she informed me that there were no rooms availabe with double beds until the next day. My daughter and I slept on the bed and my husband had to sleep on a roll away bed. I had to waste an hour the next day getting things worked out. Once we were finally settled, we had a great time. The Radison has recently been redone and it has the best beach location. One drawback is having to wait on line to reserve the beach huts the day before.

Great girls getaway

  • Traveling Diva
  • May 3, 2012
I booked the trip to Aruba for a girls getaway and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel accomodations. The hotel is perfectly located. You can "walk" to just about any destination. The employees of the Renaissance Marina Hotel were so pleasant and welcoming. I forgot my carry-on bag on the Palm Tours Bus and the Bellman quickly called the desk to alert the driver of the bag. I received it within 1 hour. The Palm Tours employees were fantastic - We booked the Jeep Tour with Snorkeling in the Natural Pool- Absolutely AMAZING!! I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the island of Aruba.

  • May 2, 2012
the good stuff: private island is amazing! so much better than the beaches in the high rise area (which are public and crowded). the staff were great...very helpful and friendly. the fitness center is very nice and clean. we stayed at the marina (adults only). very small balconies and pool...would highly reccommend staying at the family friendly part of the resort. The only dissappointment was that we were supposed to have a free upgrade that we never received...not sure if this was due to the website we booked through or the hotel. We did not do the all-inclusive option...but would next time as the watered-down drinks were very pricey and the food options at the hotel were expensive. There was a grocery store within easy walking distance so we did that alot. The property was well kept and the only defaults were the, tiny balcony and the fact that our upgrade was not honored.

One Happy Island

  • Rain9man
  • May 13, 2012
Upon arrival the hotel appeared to be very clean and the staff very friendly and accomodating. After my first night when I tried to have a nice hot shower I did not find the water better than lukewarm. The rooms are very clean and the cleaning staff is on top of things. Was an issue when it rains there were leaks within the hotel. I did not do all-inclusive pkg and found things to be expensive but so is everything else on the island. All in all the hotel was quite adequate as my only time spent there was to sleep. It has a nice beach and swimming pool area. I did use the fitness room and as it seems with any hotel I have ever stayed at some of the equipment was in disrepair. Always seems to be maintenance issues in large hotels.

Great value, excellent location

  • Laurie D
  • Feb 18, 2011
I have to say , after reading all the other terrible reviews this hotel has gotten from other travelers - what are you all talking about ??? When we arrived, the hotel staff was right there + took our luggage right out of the taxi for us. Check-in took all of about 5 minutes. We were given an upgrade to the Bonaire Tower ( renovated w/in the last 2 years) by simply asking for a no-smoking room. From what I understand the Curacao Tower may not be in the best shape, we heard that from a couple of people that were staying in that tower. Fortunately where we were put was great - everything was in perfect working condition in the room, beds were comfortable, bathroom was perfectly clean - (no mold or dust anywhere as I've read before ?? ) We had plenty of hot water + clean linens supplied to us daily. The only small problem we had was the sink didnt drain so quickly, but no big deal- it eventually drained in time. Anything we ever asked for, we got right away with no hassles. All of the staff we encountered were always very friendly + helpful. The location was perfect, directly on the beach and in the middle of tons of shops/restaurants. As far as dining options I cant really comment because we didnt go all inclusive. We ate all of our meals outside the hotel because there were so many options available. I'd HIGHLY recommend the Argentinian restaurant Tango thats just a short walk up the road, the food was incredible + the value was the best we found on the entire strip ! They offer an incredible deal for 2 people on Chateau Briand (aka filet mignon) that is definitely worth looking into. All in all our stay at this hotel went perfectly smooth with no problems and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a fabulous deal in a great location.

Perfect Vacation

Manchebo Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful, great place to stay. The beach, restaurants, and rooms were very nice and not over crowded like other resorts allowing you to relax and enjoy a perfect vacation. The hotel is close by shops and a casino. It is located between downtown Oranjstaad and the high rise strip as a great location to easily reach everything. We will definitely return!

  • Mar 23, 2012
A welcome change from the usual hustle and bustle of many of the popular hotel chains. Manchebo offered us a very clean, low key, reeelaaaxxing vacation. The rooms were very comfortable. The food on site was good and had healthy choices. The beach was uncrowded with nice chairs, shade when you wanted (needed) it and above all excellent service from the beach side drinks to the curb side service. The spa day was second to none. Perfectly located off the "main drag" but between downtown and the palm beach tourist area. a short cab ride or bus ride (a short walk to bus stop). We looked at other hotels, and many were very fine with lots of activities, But we went on vacation to "shut down the activities" and relax. Manchebo equals relax. No question we'll be back.

  • Aruba Traveler
  • Dec 13, 2011
I've stayed here many times and have seen much of the staff turn over, especially the front desk. What hasn't changed is their inability to check anyone in in less than a half hour............. in fact, when they seem to no longer need help, they are replaced. This year, we started with one person who needed help immediately and the both of them needed help from a supervisor. Everything that needed to get printede resulted in a trip behind a wall and a 2-3 minute wait. Being assigned a first floor room near the driveway entrance and facing the road, I assumed they expected me to act as security or the place must be full. I asked if any inside room was available and it took at least 5 miunutes to get a "no" after 2 yes's. The room was OK, the pool was nice, everyone except reception was competent and friendly. The value was good.

Very welcoming experience

The staff was excellent and very helpful when we checked in as we were in need of a car in a very short time frame. In addition to golfing we did some horseback riding and did the Tomcar tour, both a lot of fun. We also had dinner at the resort's restaurant. The food and service were excellent. The accomodations are quiet, but that's what we were looking for after spending a few nights in the high rise section of Aruba. Also close to nice beaches, shopping and restaurants, but a car is definitely required.

Manchebo Resort was a great stay! Awesome location and very friendly staff. All inclusive is the way to go. Just be sure to bring tips for house keeping, drinks at the bar, breakfast, lunch and dinner. The beach is fantastic and they have drink service that will walk to your beach hut during the weekdays. Overall an amazing vacation. Aruba is beautiful.

It's hard to put into words. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Not crowded, just right. I am so glad we didn't choose a bigger hotel so as to avoid the congestion. The food and service was fantastic. The all inclusive price was fantastic. It was hard to leave. (Next time I go, maybe I'll just stay there) ;0)
