February 2012- April 2013 - A major refurbishment of the North Wing already in progress. 140 rooms and bathrooms, suites, club facilities, gym, Air conditioners, elevators, function rooms, kitchens and main restaurant are being refurbished. Hotel remains open as renovated area is separated so it does not interfere with Guest experiences. Renovation takes place Monday to FRIDAY 8am to 5pm.

15 February to 15 July 2013: The hotel will undergo renovations to rooms, restaurant, bar and kitchen. The work will be done Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, in phases with sections of the hotel closed during various unscheduled times. The hotel will be open and operational during the renovations. However, one restaurant and one bar will be unavailable (Lafontaine restaurant and the adjacent Can Can bar). The hotel will do all possible to allocate rooms away from the renovation.

Meikles Hotel is situated in the city centre opposite Africa Unity Square and was built in 1915 showing a long history of experience and resilience.
The hotel has two very popular executive Club floors to cater for both international and local business guests who enjoy most of the club benefits at no extra cost. The Hotel is the only Leading Hotels of the World member within the city of Harare and gives the expected international service standards.
