okay, unimpressive

The hotel was a quick.walk to a beautiful, beach with great.snorkeling and was not crowded. the rooms were adequate with a small pool. The receptionist was friendly and helpful but the.maid.service was.spotty. the room was quiet, which we wanted, except for the rooster at five am each day. I liked the area but I don't know if I would return to.this hotel. Electricity was intermittent and it was quite warm when we were there.

Red hook had multiple restaurants - which were all good. Enjoyed Duffy's love shack and Senor Frog's.

Wonderful time

My husband and I stayed at the villas this past week. We had villa 112. The location is 1 mile from Red Hook in the East End where you can take the ferry to visit St.John. There are no amenities but you do have your own private pool which is a nice touch! Sapphire Beach is walking distance if you don't mind walking through rubble and rocky roads. (It's not as bad as it sounds) There are a number of restaurants in Red Hook. There's a small beaten down restaurant across from the office but don't be fooled. We went for Friday Fish Fry. It was sooo good, the best fish and chips (used grouper) Bill was the cook. He came out to serve the food real nice guy. The complimentary breakfast they provided is just bagels and muffins nothing extraordinary at all but it's good to grab when you're on the go.

Must must stop by off the grid food truck 1 minute drive away. You could walk but there are no sidewalks and the roads are very hilly and narrow don't recommend it. Better to drive yourself or take the jeepneys that stop right at the front of the entrance. The BBQ is the best ever!!!! $15 all you can eat BBQ or $13 a lb of whatever BBQ you want. The food truck overlooks Sapphire Beach which is a gorgeous view. Then stop at Molly Malones in Red Hook for breakfast! Large portions, we got Big2Dos to go for about $13 each. Came with eggs, bacon or sausage, pancakes or french toast. It was good and filled us up for hours.

First and lasting experience

This was my first time at Pavilions and Pools. When I entered I immediately felt tranquil. The room was spacious and comfortable. I loved the fact that there were kitchen utensils and appliances to cook. I didn't have to leave the room unless warranted. The pool was warm and that was the highlight for my daughter. It was was right outside the door, accessible at any hour. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. I can't wait for my next adventure!

Get away to chill out in St Thomas

Had sense room had sat a while not thoroughly clean. Floors were swept but not vacuumed or washed. We had toilet over flow and shower backed up had to switch rooms. We shared that room with mosquitos and cockroach. Kitchen and bath needed a good scrub down with bleach. property manager was not moved to check back with us if things were ok, let alone make any concessions. Definitely overpaid for this " resort"

Good

We had a quiet location, only one night did we hear anyone else. One would think that having a private pool was great. and it was. we didn't use it as much as we thought we would. We stayed on the go as much as possible. The kitchen I thought was great and up to date. Only wish they left a little more choice of kitchen utensils. Because of a lack of water on the island the shower only provided a minimum flow of water. They needed to clean drain in shower of our unit. Breakfast they provided was lacking so we only did that once. Location was good and close to Red Hook which I liked as a town better than Charlotte Amalie. Choices for places to eat we found variety. There was parking at the Pavilion but St Thomas is a place with little or no parking for other activities. Its not a hotel your staying in. Its more of a town house. You'll find St Thomas is a place which is in need of constant repair. Enjoy it as it is and all its activities.

PRIVATE ESCAPE

My wife and I spent our honeymoon here and absolutely loved the privacy we had in room 112. The pool and open shower was wonderful. Overall the staff was awesome except for one front desk person. (you will no who she is). The food and staff at Torsido Taco was great. Saphire Beach was a short walk and a very lovely beach.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Take the St Thomas tour through Tropic Tours as soon as you can. The tour was great and Uncle Joe and Micheal were wonderful. The tour is very informative and will help you know where to go on the island.

Great vacation

What a nice vacation. Hotel was everything we had read and expected of. Having a private pool was awesome ! It was only a five minute walk to Saphire beach , and of the four beaches that we visited on St Thomas island , Saphire beach was the prettiest and snorkeling the best . Red Hook was only a five minute drive away and had our choice of approx . 8 different restraurants , of which the four we went , we would go back to. Make sure to allow one day to vist St Johns , we went to trunk bay . A very very pretty beach and excellent snorkeling . The only downfall was the one morning we went to breakfast at the hotel at opening ,and I felt we had to wait for the staff to get their food before we could eat . If we go back without kids , this hotel would still be our first choice .

Good for couples, but not that nice

Very private, but needed updating. The pool was dirty and we asked for clean towels and they were not received. It is good if you plan on not spending much time in the hotel

Great Location

This hotel is just s short Taxi ride from Red Hook. Probably the best thing about the location is the proximity to Sapphire Beach. You can easily walk to the beach and relax or snorkel. We saw sting ray--squid--and a large assortment of tropical fish. White sand and beautiful blue water. We enjoyed the private pool. Our dishwasher didn't work the whole time we were there. The front desk staff was not overly helpful or warm. Almost abrasive in response to questions. We experienced the same feelings on St John so might be the island standard. It is very easy to catch the dollar taxi right our front. We forgot about the complimentary continental breakfast which was a nice ammenity. The restaurant and bar staff were interactive and entertaining. Happy hour tacos are 2$ and tasted great.

Will definitely be back!

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. Just wish it could have been longer but that's not their fault. The room was clean and neat. The welcome gift of rum and coke was a nice touch...LOL! The complimentary breakfast was good but would have been nice to have a few hot options but the view moe than made up for it.
