Great Anniversary!

My wife and I flew down for our 13th anniversary. This was a great place to stay. We did the all inclusive (I recommend) and had a great time. Everything was included, food, drinks, water toys, and more! It sits on a nice beach and best I could tell all rooms are ocean front. The beach is literally 20 feet from your door. The staff was great and made everything comfortable. 007 was a great bar tender and Viola the restraint manager was great to just sit and talk with. We meant many different people from many walks of life. I would definitely stay here again. We also like the location. I don't think it gets any better. You have your own personal beach and are not that far from everything you need and all the other beaches. It was a great time.

Entertainment tip: Not Applicable

You can take a taxi anywhere for about $7 a person. We rented a Jeep for about $500 and we feel that was the best way to go. This way you can tour the islands and go to all the beaches at your convenience. You can also take your rented car on the fairy to St. Johns island. There are some great beaches and snorkeling there as well.

dont rent a car very tricky to drive on the left side of the road, and very dangerous roads. Not that clean of an island, locals not very friendly to tourists, a visit by ferry to st john is very worth it.

worked out well

In town at a conference, rooms at conference hotel were booked so stayed here. Not far into town but must drive/cab. Great that there were a couple choices to eat on site. Room was less than you would expect for the price but pretty clean. I would stay here again if needed but wouldn't be my first choice. If you don't plan to spend much time in your room (which I didn't) this is a good choice.

Nice older resort with good restaurants, friendly staff.

An older resort. Somewhat difficult to find if driving yourself. They did do some upgrading. Could hear noise from one of the restaurants at night. The staff was nice, rooms clean.

What a HUGE disappointment

I don't know where to begin...I'm mad at both the hotel and THIS SITE for the whole experience. Bolongo Beach Resort should be called the Bolongo R*d R**f Inn Resort. We had spent 4 nights in Puerto Rico staying at Hil**n properties for Under $200/night...these were all top rate hotels with great rooms, views and amenities. We then spent 4 more nights on St John in a lovely 4 BR rental home with no air and a mosquito infestation that I would be happy to stay in any day over this place. I paid almost $ 300/night for our stay at this place. First the good...I like that the non motorized watersports were included in our rate but wish the front desk staff would have taken 10 seconds to tell me about it. We found out about it around 4 and they closed down at 4;30. my girls got to try the water bike for a bit. The view was nice. We really enjoyed our dinner at Iggies and sitting in the beach chairs while the live band played was very nice. However, all was trumped by the piece of cr*p rooms they try to pass off for the cost. To start, The bed was neither two doubles as requested or a King as we should have gotten in place of two beds. The mattress was old and the linens were very low quality. My girls had to settle for two cots they wheeled in because they claimed they were booked up and could not get us in a room with two beds...this was not evident by the empty restaurant off the lobby, the many empty parking spaces and the 10 people around the pool. The floors were NOT cleaned based on how black my feet were after walking around the room barefoot for a few minutes. The decor is circa 1984 and needs updating if they expect to get the rate they are robbing people for. The walls are chipping and need to be painted. The bathroom looked like it was right out of a truck stop. The shower stall was a cramped 3 x 3 plastic space. The TP dispenser was one of those plastic covered styles you would find in a public restroom that you slide over when one roll runs out. Overall it was a huge letdown. I would recommend this property if you can get a room for $125 or less per night. Sadly, there are not many good options on St Thomas.

Awesome Anniversary Vacation

We were here the 2nd week of June. This was our first time staying here and we had a great time! Everyone from the staff to other guests were very friendly. We went all inclusive, which was perfect for us. They have two on site restaurants, both have excellent food. The water sports equipment which is complementary were fun. My favorite was kayaking. We also enjoyed karaoke night at the onsite beach bar & restaurant. We are definitely returning next year!

If you don't plan on leaving the hotel much and if you're going to do a lot of drinking, go all inclusive. You get breakfast, lunch and dinner. Drinks are unlimited. The food is good and they give plenty. The whole time there we never completed a meal.
