Overview

With so much to do on the grounds of the Point Pleasant Resort on St. Thomas, guests will find they hardly have time to relax. From complimentary snorkeling, windsurfing, kayaking and other water sports, guests have many entertain options on this secluded property. If relaxation is the only thing on the vacation agenda, there is plenty of opportunity for that, too. Just head to one of three freshwater pools, each on a different level of the property or go straight to one of the beaches accessed from the property.

Rooms

The 128 air-conditioned suites at Point Pleasant Resort feature patios or balconies with either a sea or garden view. Fully equipped kitchens include four-burner ranges, microwave, coffee maker and utensils. All suites have a small dining area, flat-panel TVs and Wi-Fi (fee applies). Suites are furnished with either one king and a queen bed or queen sofa sleeper.

Property features

The Point Pleasant Resort, tucked into a hillside above Water Bay, boast casual waterfront dining daily at Jack's Bite. The historic capital city of Charlotte Amalie is just six miles away for guests who want more dining options. Within the resort property, a walking trail offers views of the sea and of the lush greenery that covers much of the island. At the end of the trail, a secluded beach known as Sugar Beach awaits. Just three miles from the resort, in the town of Red Hook, visitors catch a ferry to St. John and other Virgin Islands.

Very Disappointed

Would not recommend Mon, Jan 12, 2015
We wanted to stay at Point Pleasant Resort. This property is not Point Pleasant Resort. This is misleading on the part of the travel site and [the listing agency]. Quite a bit of the information they describe is grossly inaccurate. Next time we will book directly through the resort.

Great Hotel, Amazing Views, Great Location

Would recommend Thu, Jun 12, 2014
Our room had amazing views. Balcony was very cool overlooking the bay. The hotel employees were all very nice. Major plus was the courtesy transportation which would take you to several areas near by for free. Short walk to Coki beach and close to others. Close to RedHook where you can take a quick Ferry to St John for $7.

Under new management and improving!

Would recommend Tue, Apr 22, 2014
Things have gone downhill since staying at this hotel 5 years ago. The "old" management is being replaced by "new." We booked, not knowing, under the "old" and had to call to ask for such things as toiletries, becaue the management is offsite. I received email responses prior to arriving and the answers were not true. There was only 1 restaurant, vs. 3, and no real souvenir shop. Disappointing. However, the new management was friendly and attentive and has already made a positive difference. When we were not provided with what we needed, they came through, with smiles. The location is great, being close to Red Hook (take a ferry to other islands or simply shop/eat), and Coki Beach (beautiful beach, good snorkeling). The view is spectacular from each villa. It's also easy to catch a taxi or safari ride to another location, such as Charlotte Amalie. Can't wait to return to the new and improved Point Pleasant in the future!

Very Enjoyable Stay!

Would recommend Tue, Mar 4, 2014
We stayed at point pleasant I'm late February to early March for 7 days/7 nights. The room was very spacious, clean, and amazing views. The staff is very helpful, especially Sean, who booked us a trip on Morningstar Charter! I definitely recommend going to a market and getting some snacks and food, as eating out for every meal gets expensive (don't forget the booze too). If we returned to St. Thomas we would stay here again. Very nice rooms, up to date, and clean (coming from a female)!! Only downfall was the stairs, but they do offer a shuttle service, we enjoyed getting a little workout in! I would recommend Point Pleasant to anyone visiting!

Awesome

Would recommend Wed, Jan 29, 2014
I took the wife on a last minute trip. We read most of the reviews after booking and I was a little worried. Upon arriving those worries melted away and I found the exact opposite of the negative reviews. It's a nice, quiet beautiful place where you can relax or take a ride into the busier areas and turn up the fun. It's a short walk to the beach and coral world. The staff was friendly and the room was more than adequate. We will be returning again for a longer stay and point pleasant is at the top of our list of places to stay.

Looks like the place was built and never maintained. Probably was great in the 80's. The staff does not want to be bothered.

awful!

Would not recommend Mon, Nov 26, 2012
I went to st thomas for work... The first room that they put us in smelled like mold, the fridge was completely rusted and the phone did not work. I told them that the phone didnt work and we were supposed to have a new one in, after waiting 24 hours and nothing happening i had to walk all the way back to the front desk (which is up a mountain) to ask for a new room. Once i got a new room the manager called to let us know that thw room was upgraded with no fee?! THE OLD ROOM WAS AWFUL! Staff wasnt nice as well. If you stay here, good luck.

Do not stay here!

Would not recommend Sun, Nov 11, 2012
This is the worst hotel experience we've ever had. A/C did not work, no hot water. Staff was totally unresponsive and very rude! No one at the front desk after 5:00, or before 9:00. View from the room was great! But if you value basic amenities, Do not stay at this hotel!

Dining

Jack's restaurant located on the property had great seaside food.

If I ever go back to st. Thomas im staying here again! For sure!!!

Would recommend Wed, Sep 19, 2012
For the price I was expecting the worst! But we got there late at night and there was a really nice lady waiting outside to greet us and take us to our room. It turned out to be way better than we both expected!! The room was big with a kitchen and had a beautiful view of the bay with a large balcony!

Dining

The food at jacks was good! It was right by the water of course, with a great live band!
