Thanksgiving Vacation

Spent 5 days over Thanksgiving with the kids and had a wonderful time. Every staff member is extremely helpful and polite. I'd highly recommend using the Concierge to book everything, from dinner reservations at local restaurants, to activities such as golf, Coral World, and hotel-related activities. They are extremely knowledgeable and can answer all your questions. We took the Lady Lynsey tour for snorkeling/visit to St John's. The crew was fantastic and very accommodating. The beach area was great, with excellent service. The hotel is located in a small protected bay so the waves at the beach are minimal. Other beaches on the island see rougher waves. I probably wouldn't recommend renting a car. Getting a taxi to anywhere is extremely easy. Plus, I'm not sure I could navigate the narrow, twisting mountain roads at night while having to drive on the "wrong" side of the road. At the end of the day, I'm not sure you can beat the experience and service we received for a price not really that much more than many of the other hotels on the island.

There's only 1 golf course on the island. Its not that long, but it is narrow, the greens can be very small and fast. 90% of my club selection was either a Driver, 8-iron or PW.

Birthday and anniversary getaway!

Hotel and staff were fantastic. Staff surprised us with champagne and chocolates for our anniversary and also dessert for my birthday. Private beaches and water activities were all included with the hotel booking. Also, the property has everything you need and then some...so you don't even have to leave the property. I will definitely be coming back!!!

Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas is on the far East of the Island. The location is secluded and off the beaten track but yet close enough to town to enjoy a shopping trip. The Hotel is just beautiful, as it looks out over Great Bay. The water is magnificent turquoise blue. The grounds, well maintained, the room adequately met all of our needs but even in paradise there is room for improvement. Our bed for the stay was well won, 2 valleys to sleep in, our room just over the mosquito pond. I can not say enough about the staff, they were flawless. Our stay was wonderful and we look forward to returning soon…

Don't bother!

They charge you for everything, including food delivery to your room. The restaurants close early. The room walls are too thin and it's a good walk from your room to the lobby. I wouldn't stay here again... It shouldn't be rated as 5 stars.

One of the most beautiful locations I've ever visited...

One of the most beautiful locations I've ever visited; turquois water and view of St Johns. Spring for the ocean-view room--doesn't get any better. Service was first class and the staff very friendly. Rooms very clean. Good place to relax on the beach and be waited on...or rent a boat or some snorkling gear. The only down side--Meals can be pricey ($33 each for the full breakfast buffet. approx $150 for dinner for 2), so be prepared to spend or go to Red Hook.

Family Friendly Escape

The hotel is beautiful- marble entry, fountains and a open air lobby area- and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The beach has crystal clear blue water and soft white sand. The kayaking on the beach is a lot of fun, but the actual beach is a bit rockier than expected for swimming. There is a fantastic breeze to help take away the extreme heat. My 4 year old son had fun looking around the lush gardens for lizards and splashing in the infinity pool. The onsite restaurants are beautiful but are pricey for what you get. It would have been nice to know that children under 5 eat free (found that out on the last day from another parent). Overall the trip was amazing and I would highly recommend it!

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

The beach at Coki Beach has a better swimming area and is great for seeing rainbow colored fish and coral. Magens Bay Beach has great swimming and is family friendly (restrooms on the premises) but they charge per person to visit the beach. Brewers Bay by the airport has great swimming and better option to find small shells and sea glass.
