ICK

So the hotel is very far from anything, and the taxi drivers make it seem like a chore to drive you back to Point Pleasant. There are little bugs all over the bathroom and kitchen, and we kept finding larger bug droppings on the counter in the kitchen and bathroom but never found the bugs. It was gross! The frontdesk said that they were going to set up our taxi pickup for the airport, and the taxi never showed up. My boyfriend and I almost missed our fight, and we had to walk over 3 miles making it to the airport and take the safari. It was a horrible visit to St. Thomas.

Week-end getaway

The web site did not represent the age or layout of the rooms. They lacked basic maintenance such as torn screens and sticking doors, etc. Was very disappointed .

Great location, so-so hotel

Like everything else on St Thomas this hotel is quite expensive for what you get. But you are paying for a view, the view of the bay and the other islands was fantastic. The room was just ok. We had a full kitchen which we used often, but everything in it was pretty old. The bathroom was recently remodeled and was quite nice. The bed was old and uncomfortable. The best was the huge wrap-around balcony with a table and chairs overlooking the bay. You can also walk to Coci beach and Coral World, which are definitely worth staying at this hotel. The staff was like most of the people we met on the island, not very friendly, but they helped when asked. There are 3 pools and a couple of restaurants; we only ate at Jack's Bight which was pretty good, but so busy it took over an hour to get our food. Compared to other resorts on the island this one is a bargain, but it is still pricey for what one comes to expect from a $200+/night hotel.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Go to Coral World and Coci beach. Both are walking distance from the hotel. Coci beach is a local beach with lots of great snorkeling and a fun atmosphere. Coral World is a small animal water park with lots to see and do.

under expectation

the hotel is on the hill, which makes driving to the room difficult. there's no beach at all for the hotel. we stayed in Junior Suite, in which the refrigerator is so noisy. the room is quite often out of power. my friend stayed in another junior suite, and they don't have hot water for shower. in the first night, our room was out of power at 10pm, when we were watching tv, and i realized at that time that the phone does not work. i tried to call the emergency number given by the hotel from my cell phone, but the number did not work. so i will not recommend this hotel to my friends.

Very Disappointed

After reading the previous reviews on this hotel, I was excited to stay for the first time at Point Pleasant Resort. The place is definitely not like the previous reviews. My Superior Suite room did have an amazing view of the bay and over part of the Island of St John but the room itself was in very poor shape. It looks as if the hotel hasn't been updated in 10-15 years. The bedroom was decent but the kitchen, bathroom and closet areas looked very run down and below normal standards I would expect this Superior Suite to have. I actually ended up checking out of hotel two days early and moving to a much better hotel on the beach where I was fully satisfied. Hope this information helps someone else considering this resort to just move on. It is definitely not worth the prices they are charging at this hotel.

Great location, poor amenities.

The location of the property is perfect - secluded, quiet, and literally right on the water. Staff were friendly and responsive. Room was very bare and simple. Bed was unbelievably uncomfortable. Mattress and box spring roughly equivalent to sleeping on a pool table. The rooms were dated, but appeared well maintained, with some visible damage caused throughout the years. Free snorkle gear and kayaks for guests were a big plus. No breakfast offered on site.

Great location, poor customer service

Beautiful location and view. Very rustic. There is a great little private beach, and the restaurants are pretty good. No breakfast options. Rooms are large, and (mostly) clean, but outdated. We had very little hot water until complaining twice. We got it on out third day. There were long hairs on the bathroom wall when we checked in, and they were still there until our third day, despite housekeeping having made up our room. There is hardly any customer service available as the activities desk is usually empty, and the front desk is not very pleasant. I would hesitate to return to this property.
