Pleasantly suprised
I've been to a lot of Caribbean islands...When I booked this I was a bit hesitant since it was a Best Western but was very pleased with my choice. All rooms had a ocean view right on the beach. The rooms were very nice and clean. Staff was friendly and very helpful. I can't say anything negative~ my only complaint was the water pressure but I could live with that. I would stay there again!!!

Good Business Stay
The hotel is great for what you pay. It has a beautiful private beach and clean rooms. It is not near town or restaurants but the bar and restaurant has good food. Would recommend for the price.

Needs better pest control.
My stay at this hotel for the most part was comfortable, I enjoyed the view and the nice size bed, t.v. should have more channels to choose from, but I wasn't in the room that often so no bigee. My only problem was the roaches in the bathroom almost daily and the ceiling over the shower should not have falling paint pieces. Even though this might turn some people off, I am from the islands so I know that improvement takes time and I will try this hotel again, next time I will request a better room.

Good all-around hotel
Rooms cleaned every day; great beach; nice pool; convenient bar on the beach; restaurant a little pricey for the average tasting food served; staff pleasant. Even though it is close to the airport, the only time we heard planes taking off and landing was during the daylight hours, when we weren't driving around the island. It would be great if they did a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport since it is so close. Their 'sister' hotel will do it and it is much closer to the airport. You have to either take a taxi (which can be quite pricey during your stay; they charge per person and per bag!) or rent a car to get anywhere. We rented a car and it saved us money, since we wanted to travel around the island quite a bit.

Short drive from hotel
Don't eat at the hotel, too pricey and food is so-so. Go into Charlotte where there is an abundance of restaurants and sports bars to eat, prices can be cheaper, and food better

The most beautiful beach on the island
Great hotel for price and location. Best beach on the island, and the locals agree. Even better than Magen's Bay, which is way overcrowded. Next to the airport which sounds bad but actually didn't bother us at all and we had the room closest to the airport. The balconies were amazing with gorgeous views. We stayed at the Marriott for one night which is very expensive. We stayed there the night of our honeymoon and is where our wedding was. The Marriott is a gorgeous hotel but way overpiced and their beach is not even close to as nice as the Emerald Beach. The staff at the Emerald Beach Resort were excellent and very informative, especially the lady at the gift shop. The locals have the best information about the island. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to St. Thomas and would defnitely stay there again when I return. I also highly recommend renting a car and stay on the left!

Frenchtown is a must for the best dining options on the island. The restaurants are difficult to find in Frenchtown but definitely worth the trip. Just ask the locals where the best restaurants are. There's an excellent, very fresh sushi place in Frenchtown called Enkai. That's a must for anyone that loves sushi.

Very Good Getaway
Proximity to my family & beach made this a good location. Except for 1 bartender, hotel staff is pleasant & attentive. Although the rooms are clean, there is some lack of attention to details around the grounds.

My experience
My experience was good overrall. The water pressure in the shower was almost non-existent, and the air conditioner system was sub-par. Overrall the staff very very friendly and attentive. I don't think the stay was worth $200.00 per night, however, the hotel was directly on the beach and for that experience it was worth the price.

a place to relax
This hotel is actually quite nice! There is only one restaurant and one bar, so definitely rent a car, and venture out! All the bartenders in the resort are super friendly. Restaurant staff, not so much. Be sure to stop by the little beach shop they open during day to give some love to hugo the resort kitty. BRING BUG SPRAY! They have crazy mosquitos all over the island. the bartenders well also give you some gin on a paper towel to rib on yourself, works like a charm. The pueblo market is just down the road, I recommend you but some small refrigerated items and beer or booze.its way cheaper to buy atthe kmart though. Take the car ferry to st john and snorkel with turtles! there is an awesome little bar called club capri right in charlotte amalie buy the scotiobank, the owner andrew is super nice! Keep in mind, one street behind the shops in charlotte amalie, you will run into the poverty part of the island. Don't go there! renting a car was the best thing we did! You can buy a cooler at the market and leave it in the trunk with your drinks, and ice from the resort. Plus you can travel to all the beaches at your leisure.taxis are super expensive! This resort is a 5 minute walk from the airport, don't hail a cab, you will feel foolish. When you get to the front of the airport, walk left and follow the road with the airport runway on your left. Oh and they drive on the left side of the road. And everyone will look scary and unfriendly, just say ” good morning, afternoon, evening” you will be amazing how friendly the people are after. Bring your own snorkel gear!!! hopes this helps!

Short drive from hotel
The locals eat at ” chicken fried” its across the main rd from pueblo. Its looks scary, but is delicious! Don't be afraid to venture off the tourist path! Talk to the locals, they never once steered us in the wrong direction. There is a hidden restaurant gem downtown in charlotte amalie. a hint: cajun burger. If you can find it, you deserve it!
