Bitter End Yacht Club is the Caribbean's premiere luxury water sports resort, hosting family fun vacations, romantic getaways, and idyllic escapes for all. Located on the island of Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands, Bitter End is uniquely situated along a mile of shorefront on the protected waters of the North Sound. The barefoot elegance that characterizes this island outpost is why Bitter End is regularly hailed as one of the top full service resorts in the world. Bitter End's major attraction is its lively and well-maintained waterfront with active marine and waters ports facilities, restaurants, and shops. Lush, well-tended landscaping that features a wide variety of flowering ornamental shrubs, trees and other tropical plantings enhances the setting. The curved strand of waterfront includes three white sand beaches, deep, crystal-clear water, and abundant fish and bird life. Constant trade winds provide a reliable and comfortable, humidity-free, naturally air conditioned climate. For all: a resort fleet of over 100 boats (including sailboats, motor boats, ocean kayaks, and windsurfing gear), daily excursions to snorkel and explore local sites as well as the most famous spots in the British Virgin Islands, full service spa, yoga, boat charters, full service dive shop, sailing, kiteboarding and windsurfing lessons, two restaurants, weekly theme dinners, three bars, live entertainment, billiards, darts, foosball, nightly movies, weekly guest cocktail party, shopping, laundry services, WI-FI, safe deposit boxes, swimming pool, three beaches, hiking trails, annual special events (Pro Am Regatta Week, Old Year's Eve Party, and more), sunset sails, champagne cruises, Sunday regatta and party, on-site resort photographer, and more. For families: baby sitting services, childrens activity programs, sailing and windsurfing lessons for kids, nightly movies, expanded programs during our most popular family travel weeks.

Ferry transfers on the North Sound Express are $35 per person each way. Children ages 12 and under receive complimentary transfers. Schedule is subject to change. Late departures are available for arrivals after 7:30 PM; early departures from Bitter End to the airport are available for guests who need to leave the resort before 6:45 am. For late arrivals and early departures, there is a $35 surcharge per person for guests who have booked the Admiral's Package or American Plan stay (for guests who have booked the Bed & Breakfast Package there is a $300 surcharge). Please call in advance. Bitter End: 284-494-2746 or NSX at the Airport: 284-495-2138.

NSX Scheduled Departures from Tortola Airport: 8:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:45 PM, 4:15 PM, 6:00 PM, 8:00 PM

NSX Scheduled Departures from BEYC to Airport: 6:45 AM, 9:00 AM, 12 NOON, 3:15 PM, 5:00 PM, 6:45 PM

Dining

The English Pub/Pub
In addition to being a full service bar with an extensive selection of rums and beers, the Pub is part of the meal plan and has a full kitchen turning out a variety of menu items. There are the locally inspired rotis, grilled fish sandwiches and Winston Butler's dessert of the day, and other fare, such as homemade pizza (made in our own brick oven) and shepherd's pie, that are favorites from around the world. And, of course, old standbys are on the menu too -- hot dogs, hot wings and hamburgers! You can take in the scenery on North Sound, enjoy a game of billiards, darts or foosball, and keep up with your favorite sports team on one of our five flat screen TVs, as well as our super-size screen above the Quarterdeck.
Poolside/Bar-Lunch
An entire day can be pleasantly spent by the pool with a light curried salad for lunch, and a cocktail late afternoon. The intimate setting of our freshwater pool combined with lunch is a luxury we think every guest should try.
Clubhouse Steak and Seafood Grille/Restaurant
The Clubhouse menu features generous buffets and table service for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as cocktail service on the terrace all day and evening. Breakfast features homemade pastries and breads as well as eggs, pancakes, French toast and Belgian waffles. Lunch features a large selection of salads and cold cuts as well as fish sandwiches, hamburgers, lobster cakes and more. Dinner features our famous homemade soups, a large selection of salads, pasta, freshly caught fish and lobster, as well poultry and steaks. A generous selection of homemade desserts is always offered. Winston's Bakery is known around the world for his imagination and light touch in providing the breads, pastries and luscious desserts for the resort every day.
The Almond Walk/Dining
The Almond Walk is the idyllic setting for numerous events each week, allowing you to further enjoy our spectacular setting on North Sound. Special Theme Dinners, such as Seafood Night and the West Indian Night, are served on the Almond Walk. Dine and dance under the stars to our own steel band, The Reflections, or the Latitude Stars.

A sailor/boater's dream vacation

This resort has the most fantastic location imaginable for a sailor/boater. Reliable wind for sailing, and yet smooth waters because of the numerous reefs and islands. To enhance that, this resort allows those staying on the all-inclusive plan access to a large variety of sailboats from windsurfers to Lasers to Hobies to 22 foot Hunter sailboats, plus free access to small motor craft too for enjoying the area. Kiteboarders are also welcome, although March and April might not offer the wind reliability that a kiteboarder would want. The food was also great.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

Only a small amount of shampoo/conditioner is given with the room (they think you'll buy your next batch from the spa), so bring some of your own. Also, enjoy ice tea and a few other drinks for free, but sodas and (of course) alcoholic drinks you will have to pay for.

Best New Years ever!

We have visited The Bitter End previously by boat and now have had the privilege of enjoying the property over New Years and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The food was plentiful and delicious. The water activities were a blast and the staff was friendly and always willing to assist in any way to make sure our stay was first class. The only somewhat negative comment is that the rooms are just ok -- but since the view is breathtaking, the basic rooms suffice. We are in for next year!
