Affordable Stay, Great Location
The place is affordable. I read other reviews of the hotel and chose to ignore the negative ones. I am a flexible traveler. Sure enough my AC didn't work either. There are certainly better places to stay in HCM but the value here was acceptable. Great Location, affordable rates. The breakfast was pretty good. Other than that, the hotel is only average.

Nothing too flash in the room
Nothing too flash in the room we stayed. But everything is perfectly adequate. The breakfast buffet is unchanging but impressive. Beds comfortable and clean. Swimming pool a bit murky with leaf debris and the odd insect in it. Staff friendly and helpful. Position could hardly be better, set within very easy walking distance of the major central sites (BT market, cathedral, unification palace, town hall, opera house and post office -- worth a visit inside for the architecture. Definitely stay again.

The hotel staff is pleasant and
The hotel staff is pleasant and helpful. The rooms is clean and the location is in the central. There is a shopping centre next to the hotel and walking distance for about 10min to Ben Than market. Overall this is a good hotel, which I will recommend to my friends.

The Kimdo is very well located,
The Kimdo is very well located, but the hotel is in a need of a facelift. The rooms are tired and very early 90s and there is no air-conditioning in the hall ways and lift lobby areas. This sounds like a small things, but it gets VERY hot. Breakfast was ordinary, and the same every day. Whilst there is a large variety of eastern and some western foods, none are particulary good. Here it appears to be a case of quantity, not quality. (I'm still trying to work out exactly who has cake and pate for breakfast). Finally, beware of the massage facilities. The staff seem more keen to perform other services rather than relieve a sore and aching back after a long day of sightseeing. There are better hotels in the same area for less money. I won't be going back.
