Ha Noi trip was great

The staff was great. Very helpful. The breakfast was pretty good. You're able to order omelettes and pho. I'm easy to please. The room was a good size with plenty of room for 2. I do have to say it again, the staff was great. Smiling faces even when I'd walk in at 10:00 - 11:00 p.m. or leaving at 6:00 in the morning.

1 day in Hanoi. 2 days and one night stay on cruise to Halong Bay is good enough for Halong Bay trip. Ask hotel staffs where to eat if you want to eat traditional food.

A bit disappointed.

The best thing about this hotel is the location- on a quiet, shady street that is really an easy walk to the lake and markets. We enjoyed an electric car tour of the market and eating at the restaurants on the street. I was a bit disappointed by the room- it was good sized, but our "1 king bed and 1 queen bed" turned out to be a two queen beds pushed together and a single. Something leaked under the bathtub, so the floor was very wet after showers. Overall felt a bit shabby. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant, however.

Great service

The service was exemplary at this hotel. The staff were very courteous and helpful. I was traveling with my mother, who has a disability. The staff went out of their way to assist her and cater to her needs while we were guests in the hotel.

Hanoi Imperial Hotel

Excellent price/quality. Staff speaks good English, very polite, active and capable. Very good breakfast buffet, where you can additionally order eggs for free. Good internet. If you want a room with a view, don't go there. My room was silent, windowless, and it smelled very bad (sewer) and they couldn't fixe it. Crossing the street in Vietnam (Hanoi and Saigon) is the worst of nightmares. USD can we used everywhere.

Fabric lover's dream. Silk shops and tailor's around the corner-especially Bamboo Silk- back to hote

Arrived late as original flight cancelled. Everyone exceptionally sweet Concierge personnel saved us tremendously by getting us shuttle arrangements to HaLong Bay. Many Thanks. They had BANANA MILKSHAKES and fruit in our rooms and water bottles!! Breakfast was rooftop and eggs to order. Modest but suited our needs, juice , hot foods, yogurt, melon...hot and cold drinks and water for filling up bottles. It was INcluded!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Bring beautiful fabrics from home to take to tailors. The markets is very interesting. Beware- all silk is not necessarily SILK. Silk not as variable as USA The neighborhood is really ideal for authentic Hanoi.

The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful

Overall the facility and amenities were sub-par. The facility claimed to be handicap accessible and it was not. There were multiple steps that one would have to take before you can get to the elevator; the breakfast area was on the 8th floor and the elevator only goes up to the 6th floor, again, making it very difficult for an elderly person to get to

Great location, great staff, great value. Overall Fantastic!

I stayed here for 6 nights with my girlfriend and had a thoroughly pleasant time. The staff are very attentive and very helpful. They really are very friendly and will try their best to help and assist you in any way; from the first moment you make your reservation until you eventually leave the hotel, they really are great. The receptionists all speak English very well, and even though my girlfriend doesn't speak English they made her feel very welcome with some choice Japanese words and phrases, which I thought was a nice touch. The location is fantastic! It's off on a little side street so you kinda avoid most of the constant car / bike horn soundtrack that accompanies Hanoi 24/7 but you are still right in the thick of the Hanoi action! The breakfast buffet was also a pleasant surprise, offering a wide range of hot / cold foods and fresh fruits, really setting you up nicely for a long day dodging traffic. We stayed in an imperial room, which (if you break down the confusing deluxe, superior, imperial pseudonyms) is their highest quality and most expensive room. The room was a great size, with a HUGE bed and a very nice bathroom, and house keeping do a good job cleaning up everyday (especially if you're messy like I am) Unlike what is advertised on this site, The hotel is infact a 3-star hotel not 4-star, however it is still very good value and the customer service is really 5 star. The only slight problem I had with the hotel was the spa, which I wouldn't recommend, as me and my lady both had a 60 minute massage side by side which was accompanied for the full 60 minutes by the two 'masseuses' enthralled in deep conversation in Vietnamese both laughing and sniggering constantly which was very disconcerting and made it impossible to relax. But apart from this unprofessional spa experience, literally everything else about this hotel is truly fantastic. If I were ever to go to Hanoi again (which I doubt, once is truly enough) I would definitely stay at this hotel again and I would definitely recommend it to anyone else I knew who was going to Hanoi.

Entertainment tip: Short drive from hotel

Minh's Jazz club, is Hanoi's one and only live jazz bar, with live jazz every night from 9pm. If you don't mind paying a bit more for your drinks but in return getting some great jazz from the best of Hanoi's local talent, I'd definitely recommend going there.

The staff at the hotel were great....... My wife and I were traveling with 2 year old twins. We received lots of help from the staff during our stay. Everyone could speak English, give great directions, etc. Plan is to go back in 2014 and that's where we will stay.......... Hanoi Imperial......... Thanks. David L. Ammann

Nice hotel but bad service

A small lovely hotel in old quarter. The room on 5th floor clean with window and comfy bed. All staff were great excepted Tony. The guy work at tour desk. He was nice for welcoming then invited us booking his tour with high prices. We did not book any with him since we got a better deal out of hotel. When our Halong bus came late we asked if he can call and check. He laught and ignored us then talked to other staff. Lucky our bus came and we had a wonderful trip. Thanks god! If you stay in this hotel do not book any tour with Tony.
