Great hotel, wish the location was bette

We decided to stay at this hotel while spending a few days in Hanoi. This was our first trip there and had no idea what to expect, but from the beginning the staff were amazing. Almost everyone spoke great English and there was never a problem of finding someone to help. We had to change our reservation slightly, but this was no problem and everything turned out great. When we arrived we were upgraded to a room with an amazing view of the city. We found out later that the view is so good because the hotel is actually about a 10 minute taxi ride from the main tourist areas of the French quarter and the Old quarter. This isn't a big deal as it only costs about $3 to get there, but if we go back we might want to stay somewhere a little closer. This does make the hotel very quite. I:d recommend this for business for sure though. The restaurants are all great and reasonably priced. The breakfast buffet has a huge selection and opens earlier than we expected. Also I tried out their hair salon and was pleasantly surprised by the service and attention I received. The pool can't be beat in Hanoi either, it's gorgeous.

Money-saving tip: In Hotel

While guide books may recommend haggling with cab drivers, you generally fare better going off the meter. Just be sure to check you're in a registered taxi and ask the hotel staff for help, they're great.
