Great value in a great spot

We had a great time at this hotel, located nicely halfway between downtown Jackson and Jackson Hole Ski Resort. We didn't pay much attention to the amenities here, such as gym, etc since we were off enjoying the beautiful area. The staff was super friendly and helpful, we got sweet perks like discounts on ski rentals and bus passes, and there is a great wine/beer shop as well as a grocery within walking distance even in 5 below weather. The atmosphere, cleanliness and furnishings were superb; we were able to have Christmas in what felt like home even though we were renting for only 5 days. Won't stay in a hotel in Jackson ever again! Thanks!

Nightlife tip: Short drive from hotel

Hit up Nick Wilson's bar in the Jackson Hole Resort right at 4:00 when the ski lifts close--great atmosphere with wipeout stories flying around and cheapish good beer. Also mushroom fries. Stick around and catch a show at the Mangy Moose next door. Fun stuff.

Thistle Unit #922

Excellent condo unit. Well stocked kitchen with wine glasses and ample cooking utensils. Lots of clean sheets and nice comforters available for sofa bed and day bed. Plenty of nice and clean towels were stacked in closets ready for use. Board games, card games, and books available in living room. The BBQ grill could have been better; the flame was too weak to perfect three pieces of ribeye steaks.

Great location and Great Price

We went snowboarding at Jackson Hole. The only thing that was missing was filters for the coffee maker. The condo was great and only 4 miles from the hill with bus transportation available if you didn't want to drive.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

You pick up the keys at the rental office next to the gas station plaza at the resort. The directions say McCollister Drive but they don't point out that there's a rental office in the gas station plaza. It took me a little while to find the rental office. Well, just look for the gas station once you pull into the resort parking lot and the office is just right there. The condo is located on Berry Drive in the Aspens condo complex. It's very nice and I wish we had more time to stay there. Very Comfortable!

Much more than a hotel room

While the interior of this rental apartment was much more rustic then the photos advertized, it was a perfect fit for us. The kitchen not only had a dishwasher, it also had all the possible utensils needed for extensive cooking and eating (and baking!). There was even a BBQ on the small patio. In addition to the separate master bedroom there were 2 bunk beds we didn't expect. The bathroom was clean and spacious and came with a washer and dryer. The living room was spacious and comfortable. Aside from the 2 flat screen TVs there was also wireless internet. The access to the national parks and other outdoor attractions as well as downtown Jackson was ideal. NOTE: a car is a necessity. Unfortunately we were too busy to use the local health club facilities. Since this was a rental rather than a hotel, housekeeping only came once a week, but that worked out well for us. We were able to control the thermostats and had a working fire place. There was a small super market just a few steps away and larger supermarkets at a 10-minute drive. The entire experience was better than I had hoped for. I have no complaints what-so-ever!

The Aspens

Close to Jackson Hole and Teton National Park. Seen moose right near our condo one evening. Everything you could possibly need supplied in the 2 BR including 3 televisions! Great deck with furniture and a grill. Cool one evening and we had a fire in the fireplace, very cozy! Can`t wait to return!!! Better than I expected for the price.

Dining tip: Short drive from hotel

We had great dinners in Jackson Hole at the Silver Dollar Grill in the Wort hotel and at the Mangy Moose in Teton Village. Wonderful steaks and the atmosphere was fabulous! The Bunnery has great breakfasts for reasonable prices also. Make sure you stop at the Cowboy Bar for a drink and sit on the saddles that line the bar. Great western decor.

Excellent accomodations, hard to find

I arrived at 10:15 PM. The front desk was closed. They left my keys in a lock box with a map of the area. Being new to the area, it was like a treasure hunt, except I was tired after a flight, and it is no fun driving round and round in a car. The Aspens are located about 5 miles from the registration desk, so it is a real hastle to find them at night. It would have been helpful if I could reach a hotel staff after 10 PM, but all I could reach was answering service that was of no help. Finally, I found some helpful locals who pointed me in the right direction. The accomodations were excellent, with ample space, linens, wash machines, utensils, views and quiet. Great place for family or couple. They even had many books and a fireplace. I had a very enjoyable stay after the misadventure of the first night. The management should provide better maps, better information on facilities, and call in help for late arrivals.

Great home base for exploring Jackson!

This was actually a 1-bdrm condo rental, and we were very happy with the unit we received in the Tamarack building! Nicely appointed, very comfy furniture, bed, etc., and overall a great stay in a great location. Quick access to Jackson Hole, Wilson, GRNP, etc. by bike or car, and the experience with JHRL was great - would definitely rent from them again!

Loved the condo. Great vacation!

Loved the condo - #413 in the Aspens. Quiet, clean, great location near Jackson and Teton Village. Beautiful decor. Kitchen stocked with everything needed to prepare any meal which greatly reduced our costs. We expected cost of gas and groceries to be very high in Jackson but found them very close to prices at home. Only negative is the hour drive to Yellowstone, but unless you stay in the park itself there really isn't anything else much closer.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you are coming for Yellowstone, plan at least 4 days just for the park itself. It is HUGE. Also allow for the 75 mile drive to and from the park. If you are coming for shopping, skiing or just the scenery this is the place to be. Flying into Idaho Falls may be cheaper and the 2 hour drive over the mountains is not to be missed!
