I attended my 40th HS Class Reunion. The Travelodge was a perfect location, directly behind the bar and grill where the event took place. The price was the absolute lowest in town and the accomodations were fine. Nothing fancy, just a clean, comfortable room. Two things disappointed me: 1. The staff (employees) could barely speak English and it was difficult to communicate with them. 2. I paid a couple of bucks to upgrade to one king size bed instead of 2 queens, but when I arrived I was told that this was unavailable. I did not receive credit for the money. I would recommend Travelodge to families and travelers that just need a place to sleep. It is certainly the best value for those with tight budgets.

Big City Bar and Grill is next door and has great food, nice lounge, and some nightly entertainment. Plus if you drink too much to drive you don't have to, so go ahead and have fun.

A cold thanksgiving weekend

Our hotel was cold the hallways were freezing cold. Along with a weird stinch of who knows what it was cooking. Even the house keeping staff was wearing beenies and sweaters. To the T it was not a great place to spend a thanksgiving weekend. If you have a pregnant wife like me you might try another place, unless she loves the smell of curry!!!

Nightmare

If this hotel Was recently upgraded I couldn't tell what that was. The beds were hard and I had a spring poking me in the side all night. There was no wifi. The pillows were thin and had polyester blend pillow cases which made them hot. The bath towels were like sandpaper, hard and scratchy. We will not stay in a travel lodge again, we will choose a Clairion chain motel/hotel next time.

CoCo's Great food, friendly staff! Don't stay here if you want a comfortable bed, wifi and soft towels! For $65.00 per room (approx) we should have gotten all of the above!

Functional and cheap

It's a bare bones type of place. It was clean and the beds were good enough. Our room was no smoking, but the entire place smelled like cigarettes. The continental breakfast was basically cereal, white bread, donut holes, whole milk, juice and coffee/tea. Nothing special, but OK in a pinch. However, I'm very grateful for the wifi since I had a conference call and webinar to attend while my husband took the kids into town for coffee and a snack. Also, no ESPN, so we had to watch the World Cup on the Spanish channel.

Check out downtown. It's very quaint. There's a good Thai restaurant in town. And if you need a quick haircut, check out the local barber. He did a great job on my son's flattop.

Keep Looking

I booked this on [...] and the photo didnt look half-bad. Someone needs to update that pic! The parking lot is a weed patch, windows broken and boarded up in the back, security door did not work, trash everywhere. On the plus side, the staff was pleasant and friendly. The room - while at first glance was somewhat scary looking - turned out to be quiet, fairly clean and the bed wasn't too hard (which is always a complaint from me)I would not stay here again - especially by myself. No lights in the nasty parking lot and no security door????

Clean but Primitive

The room was clean, quiet, and had every basic thing we could have needed. The staff were friendly and efficient. The stark continental breakfast consisted of 2 types of dry cereal, white bread, a toaster, butter, whole milk, orange juice, coffee, teas, and boxed sugar doughnuts. A truly "continental breakfast" would include more choices, such as: variety of freshly baked danish pastries and doughnuts; fresh seasonal fruits; whole grain breads; english muffins; margarine, butter, plain yogurt; choice of several healthful cereal varieties; several choices of fruit and vegetable juices.

The Pizza Hut was pretty great! But the service was slow. Only two or three othere places in the whole town worth checking out: The Diner on the east end of town, and the newest restaurant at the west end of town, nearest Travelodge.

Cheap

The Rawlins Travelodge left something to be desired. It is the most reasonably priced motel in Rawlins, but had some issues with torn sheets, stained Towels and toilets that were not bolted to the floor but rocked when we sat down.
